Chapter 266: What’s the Point of Being So Anxious?!!

Upon hearing their arrival, the two aunties curiously glanced over. Clearly, the chef had informed them beforehand, so they didn’t ask any questions. Since their attention was on Su Yijia and Qin Kaize, they didn’t look away.

Su Yijia decided to be friendly and greeted them, "Hello, Aunties."

The aunties were surprised that such a beautiful city girl would actively engage with them. They immediately responded with smiles, "It’s no trouble at all. We’re just cleaning up and won’t disturb you."

"There’s no trouble at all. I’m the one interrupting your work," Su Yijia said politely.

Qin Kaize had already placed two large bowls from the fridge onto the table. As he removed the oil paper from the bowls, a strong aroma of liquor filled the kitchen.

The aunties, who had no intention of joining in, couldn’t resist coming over when they smelled the distinctive scent.

"What kind of dish is this? Why does it smell like alcohol?"

"It’s raw marinating," Su Yijia explained simply. "Seafood is soaked in alcohol while still alive. After it’s seasoned and sanitized, it’s marinated for a few more hours."

Seafood sold at the coast was relatively cheap, and unlike in later years, there were no preservation technologies. Shrimp and crabs didn’t require extra weight or large amounts of oil and sugar; steaming was sufficient. Therefore, it wasn’t considered a rare item on the island. However, while seafood was cheap, liquor was expensive.

The aunties hadn’t considered learning the method of raw marinating, but they were curious about this novel technique.

"Raw marinating isn’t meant to be eaten raw, is it?"

"Yes, but even with high-proof liquor used to sanitize it, it should only be eaten occasionally," Su Yijia said, placing all the seasonings she had prepared on the table.

The aunties hurried back to their work, resuming the washing of bowls.

With no one watching, Su Yijia poured out the liquor from the bowls and added chopped garlic, chili peppers, cilantro, a bit of sugar, sesame oil, oyster sauce, white vinegar, and fish sauce. Finally, she mixed in some chili oil she had prepared in the morning and stirred the seafood evenly.

She sealed the bowls with oil paper and put them back in the refrigerator.

"Now we just need to wait until five in the afternoon, and it’ll be ready to eat."

Qin Kaize, looking at the smiling girl in front of him, gently rubbed her small hand. He then took her to the nearby sink to clean the chili and seasoning off his hands.

The warmth of his palm and the calluses on his fingers made her cheeks flush red. She quickly glanced at the aunties, ensuring they weren’t looking, and shot a discreet glare at Qin Kaize.

This man had such nerve, acting like this even with others around.

Despite this, Su Yijia didn’t resist much, afraid of wasting time or making too much noise and attracting the aunties’ attention. It was ironic how, despite being a proper couple, they ended up creating such indescribable excitement.

Fortunately, Qin Kaize didn’t tease her further and carefully cleaned her delicate fingers, then dried them with a handkerchief before letting go and stepping back.

The distance between them seemed quite proper, though it was clear that his deep, burning gaze still held a fierce, consuming fire.

This dog of a man knew very well that in this situation, they couldn’t do much. Yet, he still found ways to provoke her.

What could she do if he got fired up? Should she just cover herself up?!

Su Yijia shot him a disgruntled look, her eyes narrowing like a hook, almost pulling Qin Kaize’s attention away.

He silently took a couple of steps outside, seeing that Su Yijia didn’t follow. He turned back and urged her with a look.

Before Su Yijia could react, he strode back to her side.

Su Yijia bit her lip, barely suppressing a smile. His hasty demeanor made it seem like they were rushing back for something urgent.

"When can we go up the mountain? Can we catch wild chickens or rabbits there?" Su Yijia leisurely walked beside him, her eyes fixed on the mountain.

"Sure. When we have time tomorrow, I’ll take you up the mountain and cook what we catch for you," Qin Kaize said softly.

Seeing the expression of longing on his little wife’s face, he couldn’t help but chuckle.

Su Yijia looked up, puzzled by his sudden laughter.

"Let’s hurry back. It’s midday, and the sun has already reddened your skin," Qin Kaize said, noticing the faint red tint on her fair face. He took her hand and led her towards the residential area.

It was just the time for team training, and the sun was scorching hot. They didn’t see a single soul along the way.

Despite their haste, Qin Kaize didn’t quicken his pace but matched Su Yijia’s usual speed.

When they entered the house and found the living room empty, clearly everyone had gone for a nap. Qin Kaize immediately picked up Su Yijia and carried her to their room, closing the door with his foot.

He pinned her against the door and let the warm air envelop her.

Su Yijia instinctively tried to push him away but soon returned his affection with fervor. Their warm breaths intertwined, making breathing difficult, yet she refused to give in. Clinging to Qin Kaize, her mischievous hand explored the buttons of his shirt like a snake.

The touch drove Qin Kaize’s sense of reason to its breaking point. They fell onto the bed, cushioned by thick blankets, which softened the fall. The noise, however, slightly reined in Qin Kaize’s rationality.

He tried to pull back, but Su Yijia yanked his shirt collar, pulling him closer. The sweet taste overwhelmed all his senses, making him feel electrified.

After Su Yijia bit him hard on the lips, they finally pulled apart. Their clothes were disheveled, with Qin Kaize’s shirt buttons all torn off. His sculpted abs were partially visible beneath his shirt, intensifying the allure.

Su Yijia’s satisfied gaze swept over her conquest. Listening to the man’s heavy breathing like a beast, she gently gripped his firm jaw with her delicate fingers and drew him back toward her. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

The atmosphere in the room turned as hot as a boiling spring. With the man lost in passion, there was no stopping him easily. When he finally emerged from under the blanket with a satisfied smile, Su Yijia was nearly falling asleep.

Feeling his presence return above her face, Su Yijia mustered her last bit of energy to turn her head away. His kiss landed on her flushed cheek, and his deep, husky laughter resonated in her ears, intertwining with soft, affectionate murmurs.

"Why are you still being so self-critical?" Qin Kaize lightly nuzzled her smooth cheek with his nose.
