Rotting Land: Survive-Chapter 391 - 389: Loader Rescue (Part 1)
The power of the bulldozer was self-evident, and the tiny zombies were no different from ants in front of it.
Wherever it went, blood and flesh flew, resembling a human meat pulverizer; once a zombie touched it, its fate was sealed to be "shattered."
"Crack" Tang Xiaoquan was still struggling fiercely with the "Pacer" stuck in the car window. But upon hearing this clear sound of "meat and bone shattering," the unlucky one gnashing his teeth at him fell powerlessly.
Seeing this, Zhang Zhicai didn’t hesitate, he pressed the accelerator to deliver the final blow to the collapsed creature.
Li Xiaoxin stared ahead with slightly focused eyes, and a red "flame" flickered in his not-too-large pupils.
Although these beasts were different from past enemies, it was an undeniable fact that they were "invading" his comrades.
"Die! Die! All of you die!"
The fierce flames burning within were translated into action by the massive wheels crushing without mercy.
The beasts evidently didn’t understand what the behemoth in front of them was, the only thing they were sure of was that this thing was obstructing their meal.
So, naturally, they roared, they growled, they began to throw themselves at it "without fear of death," seeming to think they could use their numbers to overwhelm the opponent.
It has to be said that the further mutated "Climbers" were indeed formidable; they not only had the sprinting speed of "Runners," but also the ability to "climb."
But unfortunately, as strong as they had mutated, they were still too insignificant to withstand a blow from the emotionless steel giant.
Sure enough, a few reckless beasts clung themselves fiercely to the outer wheel of the bulldozer, intending to climb onto the chassis with their newly adapted "climbing" skills, but faced with absolute power, they were destined to be torn apart.
Thanks to its heavy "body," the bulldozer crushed everything along the way; any creature attempting to approach was squashed into meat mush, with various dirty internal organs spilling everywhere, exuding a thick liquid that made one nauseous to see.
Suppressing the churning in his stomach, Zhang Youcai closely followed behind the bulldozer. Perhaps it was the overly "arrogant" momentum of the leading vehicle that no zombies in the vast factory came to trouble them.
At last, after a "long trek" that lasted three minutes, the operation team finally dashed out of the hellish factory’s boundary "without incident."
Wang Qiang leaned against the side of the vehicle, breathing heavily and still shaken by the earlier "frightening" chain of events.
He subconsciously glanced at the factory gradually disappearing in the rainstorm, the ground littered with blood and flesh made him exhale a long breath of turbid air.
The two vehicles sped rapidly toward Shuren Academy, and with the heavy machinery of the operation team, they were absolutely confident about the upcoming rescue mission.
Especially after witnessing the mighty display of the beast earlier, Tang Xiaoquan believed as long as there was enough fuel, no creature could stop this "monster."
"Will they really return?" Yue Guishan once again fell into a vortex of "distrust."
But it’s no surprise. From hell to heaven, and heaven back to hell again, such repeated twists and turns would surely evoke "negative" emotions even in the most steadfast of men.
Moreover, at this moment, outside the teaching building, because of the cries of people earlier and the roar of vehicles, the surrounding zombies had long since been attracted.
Therefore, under the dual visual and psychological stress, the survivors awaiting rescue could not avoid questioning their chances of survival.
"Everyone, don’t look so down, we have to believe in Old Xu and the others, they will definitely return to save us!" Munching forcefully on a biscuit, Zhao Yunhai stared steadfastly out the window.
The rain kept pouring down, perhaps as if the heavens mourned Xiao Mei’s tragic death, anyway, instead of easing, the torrential rain seemed to be intensifying vaguely.
For safety’s sake, Xu Renjie jumped down from the bulldozer. After all, if he kept hanging on the outside of the vehicle frame, and slipped and fell during the rescue, it would cause significant trouble.
After a brief exchange with Zhang Zhicai, the completely drenched Xu Renjie casually wiped the sweat off his cheek before restarting the vehicle.
The convoy continued forward, the ceaseless rain making the survivors riding at the back of the vehicle miserable. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
However, with a rescue mission at hand, they couldn’t focus on anything else, simply allowing the rain to beat upon them.
Due to the bulldozer’s inability to go too fast, the return journey of the rescue team was much slower than the trip out.
And after the intense battle at the construction site, by the time they returned to Shuren Architecture College, a full 40 minutes had passed.
"Old Zhao! You hear that?" As usual, Yue Guishan was the first to earshot any disturbances, and the four awaiting rescuers almost jumped up from the ground together.
It’s hard to imagine their mentality at that moment; they simultaneously rushed to the window.
"My God! That’s..."
"A bulldozer!!" In unison, the rescuers looked at each other.
A faint smile appeared on Old Zhao’s lips; he understood the rescue team’s plan right away, and secretly thought, "Old Xu and the others can really come up with ideas! These beasts are in for it now!"
Indeed! As Zhao Yunhai guessed, when the rescue team re-entered the campus, upon seeing the sea of zombies gathering densely at the entrance of the teaching building, Wang Qiang clenched his fists and shouted, "Li Xiaoxin! Show these beasts what you’ve got! Roll over them directly!"
The roaring shout pierced the sky, and Wang Qiang’s shout echoed throughout the campus.
"Just what I intended!" With no need for Wang Qiang’s instruction, Li Xiaoxin, who had already had enough of holding back, drove the bulldozer directly toward the group of corpses.
Those were "students" in school uniforms, and if it were in the past, it would be enough to cause a societal uproar.
However, now, for Li Xiaoxin, they were merely a mindless moving lump of meat paste.
"Crack, crack" The heavy tires continuously rolled over the fallen zombies, black blood splattered with the rain, staining the ground.
Is this still a campus? This was clearly a battlefield straight out of hell, with the path of the bulldozer bearing human meat pancakes, making Tang Xiaoquan in the following car sick to his stomach.
Not much farther now! Seeing the target getting closer, Tang Xiaoquan took a few deep breaths to suppress the churning in his stomach, then leaned out of the car window.
"Hey! Xiao Li! Adjust the bulldozer blade, aim it at the floor where Old Zhao and the others are, let’s go get them down!"
"OK!" Without caring if Tang Xiaoquan could hear him, Li Xiaoxin, who was "in the heat of battle," responded nonchalantly and then maneuvered the lever, starting to adjust the scoop of the vehicle...
