Roadmap to the Boundless Sky-Chapter 190Book 3, : Chances Of Victory
Once smoke began rising on the flyover, it was the same as attaching a huge sign to the area. The airborne ambush team behind the first unit drew closer and jumped down.
They focused on attacking and didn’t care about anything else, because those behind them would stop the reinforcements at the base of the flyover from approaching.
Two Third Limit martial artists they had hired were also waiting at the end of the flyover leading to the main area of Central City. They weren’t in charge of the ambush but were tasked with stopping all those trying to get on the flyover.
More people popped up from the sea on either side of the flyover and climbed up the pillars. They didn’t just show up around the motorcade either. They appeared at both ends of the flyover in great numbers.
They had been lying in wait ahead of time. Some of them were from the ambush team, while others were hired foreign armed forces.
In truth, the latter were cannon fodder in charge of throwing the situation into chaos and increasing their strength. Big Sis Huan didn’t expect them to be of much use and was ready to give up on them right from the start.
The security guards from the motorcade realized what was happening and started firing at the people jumping down and rushing over to them. Yet with just a duck or a side step, they swiftly disappeared from where they had been standing. They moved so quickly that the security guards couldn’t react to their actions at all.
Once they realized that things were going south, their implants secreted adrenaline and injected stimulants into their veins. Their reaction speed improved. Yet even so, they were only somewhat able to see the attackers jumping around. None of their shots landed.
The ambush team wasn’t just made up of Third Limit martial artists. They had also brought First and Second Limit martial artists.
Once they landed, they started attacking the security guards shooting at them while taking cover behind the cars.
Both sides wore protective gear. Hence, even though the gunshots rang nonstop, no one died. As the Third Limit martial artists barged in, the security guards blocking the way were either knocked away or shoved to the side. Even the cars that were supposed to block their way did nothing. They sent them flying like they weighed nothing.
Big Sis Huan removed her parachute and let it float to the sea while she stood on top of the guardrail of the flyover. As she watched the unit ahead, she asked, “Where’s Jiang Huowang?”
“He’s already gone over,” a team member said.
After Chen Chuan’s driver received news that they were attacked and stopped, Chen Chuan got out of the car with the Frost King Saber in hand.
He took a look around. People were climbing up the flyover nonstop, while others were flying over with gliders.
Chen Chuan ignored all the marksmen and weaker attackers. Instead, he paid attention to the Third Limit martial artists mixed among them.
With just one glance, he could tell that they had as many people as Viper Order and were working together as well.
He looked past the group and stared into the distance. Over there, he saw a short-haired woman in goggles and skintight clothing that accentuated her curves. She was standing on top of the tall guardrail post.
She was on her tiptoes, with her feet positioned one in front, and the other behind. Her hands were spread slightly, and she held two long spikes. Her tensed up leg muscles were obvious, and Chen Chuan could easily imagine just how much power was contained in them.
Based on the attackers’ reaction and where she stood, she was the leader.
Just then, a shadow fell on Chen Chuan, and his vision was blocked off.
Crash!
Someone landed right in front of him.
He looked over and saw a young man with medium-length hair, which covered half of his face.
The man’s skin had a faint, green hue to it, and his pupils were abnormally black. In each hand, he held a three-bladed saber that looked like a claw. The blades shone with a chilling glare.
The young man appeared to be full of excitement as he stared at Chen Chuan. While speaking the national language of the Great Shun Republic with a heavy accent, he said, “You must be Chen Chuan. Come, fight me.”
He followed that with a string of words in a language Chen Chuan couldn’t understand.
While he was talking, the young man let his emotions take over and charged forward so quickly that the ground shattered.
Whoosh!
He appeared in front of Chen Chuan.
With a quick glance around him, Chen Chuan found people appearing behind and in front of him; they were the Third Limit martial artists he had identified just now. They were all keeping a close eye on him. Even though they weren’t attacking just yet, they were, without a doubt, trying to put pressure on him and making the situation more dangerous for him.
While observing them, Chen Chuan spread his biofield outward to immediately notice anyone stepping into his area or attacking him. That wasn’t all. He also changed his biofield with familiar ease so that no one could figure out his strength.
As he focused, everything around him slowed down, including the young man charging at him.
Chen Chuan stared at the claw sabers getting closer to his face, along with the young man’s excited expression. His gaze remained incredibly calm as he lowered his center of gravity and moved back.
At the same time he turned his body to the side to avoid the claw sabers, he pushed an arm forward and grabbed one of the young man’s arms. He tightened his grip, and a loud snap tore through the air.
The young man’s arm was bent at an unnatural angle. Just as he was about to increase his grip, he noticed something and tilted his body to the side to avoid a bullet coming at him.
His gaze turned sharp, and he immediately noticed that there was a Third Limit marksman among the enemies.
That’s rare.
While that thought flashed through his mind, the young man didn’t even seem to have noticed that his arm was broken. He swung the other saber claw at Chen Chuan, who dragged him forward and tossed him far away.
Despite seeing Jiang Huowang being thrown immediately after the fight started, Big Sis Huan’s expression didn’t change much. The other team members were just as calm.
Jiang Huowang had a unique constitution that allowed him to absorb the effects of medicine easily and a secret technique that let him accumulate blood essence much faster than others. He could use the stored medicinal effects and blood essence to recover quickly.
While they were fighting, the two ambush units by the guardrail fired a net at Chen Chuan. Javelins stabbed into the guardrail and flyover some thirty meters away from them and formed a huge net over Chen Chuan and the cars around him.
The net wouldn’t be able to stop a Third Limit martial artist, but as long as they could halt Chen Chuan in his tracks for even a moment, that would be enough.
Meng Shu remained in her specially modified car. Its armor plates were thick, sturdy, and stable. They couldn’t be cut open or blasted away easily.
When they were ambushed, an anchoring device immediately shot out from the bottom of the car and fixed itself to the flyover, so the car could not be easily moved or flipped over by external forces.
Hence, even though bullets kept raining down on the car, Meng Shu remained calm.
Security guards and cars moved over to protect her. Martial artists were among them. They surveyed the area warily to stop anyone from using weapons that could break through the armor.
Even though their communications signal had been blocked immediately after the attack began, they activated the domain entity in the car and used a dominant domain signal to connect the motorcade and maintain communications.
At that moment, a security guard captain suggested, “Miss Shu, Mr. Chen has attracted the enemy’s main forces. We can try to clear out a path for ourselves. Do you want us to break out?”
“No. We’re staying here,” Meng Shu stated calmly.
The next moment, she said, “Li Ying.”
Light flickered in front of her, and Li Ying showed up in the seat across from her. With a smile, she asked, “What are your orders, Miss Shu?”
Meng Shu wasn’t the only one going to the company. She had brought Li Ying, whose body was currently in an armored truck behind them.
“Li Ying, I want all our enemies dead here. Can we do that without using you?” Meng Shu asked.
Li Ying had some offensive abilities, but it would require her to use her real body, which was the last resort for the most extreme of situations. After all, the Great Shun Republic was wary of active biosentient entities, which was why the big companies all tried staying away from using their biosentient entities.
“Then, Mr. Chen will be the key factor. As long as he can kill the attackers, your wish will be fulfilled. It won’t be hard for him, either,” Li Ying answered, still smiling.
“What do you think his chances are?” Meng Shu asked. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Li Ying took a look outside before turning back to Meng Shu and reporting a number. “98%. Even if I don’t fight, Mr. Chen can kill all the enemies.”

Even though Jiang Huowang had been thrown out, Chen Chuan could see his bent and shattered arm rapidly healing. A crazed expression appeared on the young man’s face.
The other members of the ambush team felt their hearts skip a beat, and they instinctively stayed further away. Whenever this happened, Jiang Huowang attacked without caring about friend or foe.
With an animalistic cry, Jiang Huowang charged at Chen Chuan again.
The secret technique he practiced was unique. When he was in a certain state of mind, his speed and strength got an additional boost. Coupled with his strong recovery abilities, he was a tough opponent to deal with when he engaged in melee combat. They had picked him for the operation precisely because of this.
Chen Chuan watched him. While Jiang Huowang was fast, he wasn’t fast enough for him. With a single thought, Chen Chuan overlapped with his second self and took half a step to the left.
Jiang Huowang only saw a blur before losing sight of Chen Chuan. Then, he felt a pressure on his arm and found that Chen Chuan had grabbed him right where he had broken his arm before.
A strong force dragged him forward, and his world spun. With a loud bang, he was slammed against the flyover, and cracks appeared where his body hit the ground.
Yet even though he had some broken ribs, his biofield remained strong. The injuries were healing rapidly.
Chen Chuan brought his fist up, aimed it at his head, and swung it down.
Bang!
The moment his fist came charging down, he heard a loud gunshot in the distance.
It came from the Third Limit marksman. He had seized the opportunity to fire a shot that he was sure that Chen Chuan wouldn’t be able to avoid. Even if he couldn’t kill Chen Chuan with it, Chen Chuan would be heavily injured.
But when he saw what happened, his jaw fell slack.
Jiang Huowang was lying on the flyover with his head reduced to bloody bits.
Chen Chuan pulled his steaming fist from Jiang Huowang’s shattered head and straightened. A deformed bullet slid off his head and fell on the ground with a clatter.
