Rise Of The Villain : In a World Ruled By Anomalies-Chapter 41 : Everything’s finally over
As the dagger hovered mere inches from piercing Arthur’s heart, time itself seemed to hang suspended in the frozen chamber.
Pain exploded inside Jordan’s body unlike anything he had ever felt—as if someone were tearing him apart from within, invisible claws raking through his mana core with savage fury.
Jordan staggered backward suddenly, releasing his grip on Arthur.
A sharp pain detonated inside his chest without warning, stealing the air from his lungs. His heartbeat spiraled out of control, erratic thuds pounding like war drums gone mad, while an invisible force invaded his body, coiling through his veins like molten chains.
"What...?" he gasped, his voice cracking.
His knees trembled violently before buckling under the onslaught.
Then the notifications began flooding his vision. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

[ One Core Ability Has Been Lost ]
[ Talent A-Rank: Crown of Sorcery Has Been Lost ]
The light vanished instantly—sucked into nothingness.
Jordan’s strength drained away as if his soul itself had been hollowed out. His limbs turned heavy as lead.
He collapsed forward onto his hands and knees, shaking uncontrollably, his gasps ragged and wet.
And the Absolute Choice System issued its final response:
[ Core Ability Reduced ]
[ Host Capability Severely Decreased ]
Jordan felt it immediately.
The mana inside his body no longer responded as it once did—sluggish, uneven, rebellious, pooling like congealing blood.
Spells he attempted fizzled weakly.
Ice shards formed halfway before crumbling to powder.
Fireballs dimmed to pathetic sparks.
Nothing worked as it should.
The once-limitless power he wielded had been reduced to flickering embers.
He realized it fully.
The Crown of Sorcery—his A-rank talent, the ability he had fought and bled for—was gone.
Stolen.
Jordan’s blood ran cold as he looked toward Arthur.
Arthur stood there with a manic grin splitting his bloodied face.
A horrifying understanding dawned.
"You bastard! What did you...?" Jordan yelled, his voice cracking with rage and fear.
Arthur spoke calmly.
The mana around him responded instantly, coiling eagerly to his will like a loyal serpent.
"Thunderbind Chains."
Crackling azure lightning materialized in the air—identical to the spell Jordan had used earlier.
The chains lashed forward viciously.
Jordan was too weakened to react in time.
They wrapped around his limbs and torso.
Electricity surged violently through him.
His muscles seized.
His body convulsed.
He crashed to the floor, spasming uncontrollably, foam flecking his lips.
Arthur moved immediately.
He pulled a glowing healing potion from his inventory and gulped it down.
The liquid burned sweetly down his throat.
His body repaired itself instantly.
Gashes sealed.
Bones realigned with faint cracks.
Muscle knit seamlessly.
Not even a scar remained.
He looked down at Jordan, who was barely conscious.
"This is checkmate," Arthur said coldly.
In one clean motion, he picked up his sword and drove it straight through Jordan’s heart.
Steel pierced flesh with ruthless precision.
Blood splattered across the icy floor, steaming where it touched the melting frost.
Jordan coughed up thick gouts of blood.
Then he started laughing.
Wet.
Unhinged.
"You’re not an ordinary guy..."
He gasped again, blood spilling down his chin.
"Don’t think this is over... Just like me, you’ll die at someone’s hands too."
Arthur smirked faintly.
"I’ll be waiting for that next challenge."
Jordan’s final words rasped weakly:
"Damn you, Arthur Celestian..."
His eyes rolled back.
His body went limp.
Dead.
Arthur collapsed beside the corpse, his chest heaving violently.
"Finally... it’s over," he gasped, his breathing ragged and uneven.
A system voice echoed in his mind.
[ It’s still not over, Host. One thing still remains... ]
’And what’s that?’ Arthur thought weakly.
[ ’I’m going to devour his system.]
Arthurs tone almost sounded amused.
’So do it. Who is stopping you?’
Arthur suddenly paused as he remembered something.
"Oh wait... the camera ."
He hurried back to Isabella, who lay barely conscious on the ground. Kneeling beside her, he took the small camera from the robe he had given her and switched it off.
Arthur looked at it for a moment and murmured, "Now we don’t have to worry about anyone finding out what happened to his corpse."
He looked towards Jordans corpse.
"Do it."
The next second—
A monstrous shadow began emerging from Arthur’s body.
Inky tendrils.
Glowing eyes.
Vast.
Otherworldly.
Terrifying.
Even Arthur’s soul trembled at the sight of it.
Primal fear gripped his core.
The shadow lunged forward.
And devoured Jordan’s entire corpse with a grotesque slurping sound.
Then it vanished.
Reabsorbed into Arthur’s body as if nothing had happened.
Arthur stared in shock.
His heart pounded violently.
Unable to fully process what he had just witnessed.
A hoarse whimper snapped him out of his daze.
Isabella.
"Let’s get out of here... before this dungeon collapses," Arthur said urgently.
He scooped her up in a princess carry.
Her barely conscious body hung limp against his chest, her torn dress fluttering faintly.
He ran toward the exit.
His boots pounded over debris.
Over frozen remains.
His wounds were healed—but his body still strained heavily, fatigue clawing at the edges of his consciousness.
Every step felt heavier than the last.
Finally—
He reached the exit gate.
He stepped out into faint daylight just as the ground rumbled ominously behind him.
In his fading vision—
He saw Mala rushing toward them.
Then—
Everything went black.
Arthur lost consciousness.
