Rise Of The Villain : In a World Ruled By Anomalies-Chapter 31 : Dungeon Boss
Meanwhile—
Jordan and Isabella finally reached the massive ruined skyscraper.
The building towered above them like a carcass picked clean by time and violence. Entire sections of its upper structure were missing, jagged concrete exposed like broken ribs. Black crystalline veins pulsed faintly along its surface, crawling over shattered walls.
The entrance had partially collapsed.
Massive steel doors hung twisted and broken from their hinges. Concrete slabs leaned inward at dangerous angles, yet a gap wide enough for two people to walk through remained.
Isabella studied it briefly.
"Looks like this is the only way forward," she said.
Jordan nodded.
"Yeah... looks like it is. We’ll have to enter from here." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Without hesitation, Isabella stepped through the broken entrance.
Jordan followed closely behind.
Inside—
The air changed instantly.
It was colder.
Damp.
The interior lobby was a graveyard of debris. Marble flooring was cracked and uprooted. Pillars leaned at unstable angles. Black crystal growths crawled across the ceiling like infected veins.
Dim red light filtered through shattered windows, mixing with shadows to create a suffocating atmosphere.
Small mutated creatures scurried across the floor.
Insect-like beasts.
Twisted rodents with exposed muscle.
Thin humanoid figures that crawled along the walls.
They attacked immediately.
Isabella reached for her sword—
But Jordan stepped forward first.
"Allow me."
He raised one hand.
A complex magic circle flared into existence beneath his palm.
Fire erupted outward in a controlled wave.
The creatures shrieked as flames engulfed them. Their bodies blackened and twisted before collapsing into charred husks.
The scent of burnt flesh filled the air.
Jordan turned toward Isabella with a reassuring smile.
"You should preserve your strength for the upcoming boss fight."
Isabella nodded slightly.
"Fine."
Jordan extended his palm again, conjuring small floating fire orbs to illuminate the dark corridors ahead.
They continued deeper into the building.
Hallways stretched endlessly.
The walls were cracked and clawed.
Ceiling tiles hung loose, swaying faintly.
Isabella remained alert, her hand resting lightly on her sword hilt, eyes scanning every shadow.
Suddenly—
She paused.
Her nose twitched slightly.
"What is that strange smell?" she muttered.
Jordan inhaled slowly.
"Yeah... that is weird."
He frowned convincingly.
"I wonder where it’s coming from."
Isabella narrowed her eyes.
"I think it’s the basement."
Jordan nodded.
"Agreed."
They moved toward a broken staircase leading downward.
Whatever small creatures appeared in their path were quickly eliminated.
Fire and steel.
Efficient.
Clean.
They descended into the basement level.
The air grew thicker.
Heavier.
Oppressive.
Suddenly—
"Stop," Jordan said quietly.
Isabella halted instantly.
"So you feel it too, huh?" she said.
"Of course I do," Jordan replied. "I’m a mage, remember? It’s hard not to notice something this corrupted and menacing."
From the darkness ahead—
A low growl echoed.
Heavy.
Deep.
The ground trembled faintly.
Two massive yellow eyes opened within the shadows.
Then—
It stepped forward.
The C-rank Boss.
A colossal wolf.
Nearly three meters tall at the shoulder.
Its fur was dark charcoal, streaked with glowing crimson veins pulsing beneath the surface. Jagged bone protrusions jutted from its spine like natural armor plating.
The monster stood on two legs like a werewolf from the movies—only far more dangerous.
Its jaws were enormous.
Rows of serrated teeth dripped with glowing saliva that hissed upon touching the floor.
Its claws gouged deep trenches into the stone with every step.
Its breath came out in visible crimson mist.
The air around it warped faintly, as if rejecting its presence.
For a brief second—
Even Isabella felt a chill run down her spine.
Jordan did too.
But a smile formed on his lips.
"Need a hand?" he asked lightly.
Isabella stepped forward.
"No need. I can handle it myself."
She drew her sword.
The blade slid free with a sharp metallic whisper.
"If things become serious," she added calmly, "prepare to cast healing magic."
Jordan moved backward slowly.
"Don’t worry," he said warmly. "I’ll be happy to help."
As he retreated, his expression shifted.
Hidden from Isabella’s view—
A menacing smile formed.
He created distance.
Good distance.
Behind his back, his fingers uncorked a small vial.
A thick red liquid dripped onto the floor.
It emitted a faint, strange odor.
A scent almost impossible to detect consciously—
But powerful.
A translucent window appeared before Jordan’s eyes.
────────────────────────────
Item Name: Bloodmoon Frenzy Extract
Classification: High-Grade Alchemical Catalyst
Effect:
• When inhaled, forces monsters into a Berserk State, increasing all physical abilities by at least 50%
• Reduces intelligence and self-control, making them attack
the nearest mana source without hesitation
• Releases a pheromone that draws nearby monsters to the area
• Aggression builds over time, potentially forming a swarm
Human Hazard:
• Dangerous if inhaled — can cause violent impulses,
paranoia, dizziness, or a dazed mental state
Warning:
Prolonged exposure may result in an uncontrollable
monster outbreak.

Jordan’s fingers tightened around the empty vial.
He looked toward Isabella, who was standing confidently before the massive wolf.
"Let’s see," he murmured quietly, barely audible.
"How long you can continue acting arrogant now."
He disappeared into the shadows, unknown to Isabella.
The massive mutated wolf lowered its body.
Its muscles coiled like compressed steel cables.
Then—
It exploded forward.
The ground cracked beneath its paws as it charged toward Isabella with the clear intention of tearing her apart.
Its speed was terrifying.
Faster than any creature she had faced so far inside this dungeon.
Isabella’s eyes sharpened.
’Fast... probably the strongest monster I’ve fought in here so far,’ she assessed instantly.
But instead of fear—
Excitement flickered in her chest.
She had always liked challenges.
Her stance shifted.
Right foot forward.
Left foot anchored.
Sword angled slightly downward.
Breathing controlled.
The wolf roared as it closed the distance in seconds.
Isabella moved.
"Quick Draw."
Her body surged forward at near-supersonic speed, air splitting around her as she dashed straight at the incoming beast.
Two forces collided.
Steel met hardened flesh.
Her blade carved across the wolf’s neck in a flawless arc.
But—
Instead of slicing cleanly through—
The sword scraped.
Sparks burst outward.
The cut was shallow.
Too shallow.
The wolf’s hide was far denser than she anticipated.
Its glowing veins flared violently.
Immediately—
A massive claw thrust toward her head.
Fast.
Brutal.
Meant to crush her skull in a single strike.
Isabella raised her sword horizontally.
Clang!
The impact detonated like a cannon blast.
Shockwaves rippled outward.
The force was overwhelming.
