Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 510: Journey Across Continents (8)
Third Person’s POV
The entire hidden sanctuary he had painstakingly constructed was being reduced to ash.
Yet seeing all this, Nyx didn’t become happy, and her expression darkened as she noticed that Dajjal was gone.
There was no trace of him.
She extended her senses and started probing through the lingering distortions of space.
Her awareness spread outward and scanned for the faintest residue of his aura and the slightest ripple of his essence, so that she could trail him across space secretly like before, but she found nothing this time.
The absence was complete.
A low, displeased tension formed in her gaze as even after she had executed her every move with near perfect precision, from collapsing his domain, wounding his true body, to pursuing him into the Shadow Realm, and ambushing him with coordinated elemental dominance, he had still managed to counterattack at the final moment.
He had trapped her soul within his nightmare realm, even if only for an instant, and that instant had been enough, as it had given him the margin he needed to escape.
’Well, he is not the renowned dark emperor for nothing...’
Nyx couldn’t help but think this, though she was not deceived into thinking that she had failed utterly, as she knew the price he had paid.
There was no possibility that he had emerged unscathed from her infernal flames.
The wound she had inflicted had burned into his essence itself, and the mark she had left behind would not fade easily.
He had escaped, but he had done so while barely clinging to life.
Her massive wings folded slowly against her back as her golden eyes turned cold and resolute.
And that was something she was certain of, and it was the fact that this was not the end, but was merely the beginning of a hunt that would not end until one of them ceased to exist.
In the next moment, she slowly turned her massive golden eyes toward the deeper expanse of the Shadow Realm, her gaze stretching far beyond the burning remnants of Dajjal’s hidden sanctuary.
It was as though she were looking directly at something, or someone, concealed within the vast and ancient darkness.
As she looked on, her expression remained placid and unreadable.
Without another wasted movement, she flapped her colossal wings once, and her enormous body vanished instantly as she completed a near perfect spatial jump that did not disturb the surrounding realm more than necessary.
She did not travel in a straight line, and she did not rely on ordinary movement.
Instead, she continuously traversed through folds of space itself, bypassing conventional travel entirely.
The Shadow Realm was immeasurably vast, and had she attempted to fly across it normally, it might have taken months to return to the node through which she had originally entered.
And during that time, she would have had to pass through territories that did not belong to her.
As she leapt from one spatial anchor to another, she crossed the domains of powerful and ancient beings who had long since made the Shadow Realm their permanent dwelling.
These were not wandering spirits or fragmented remnants, but established existences who ruled their respective territories with unquestioned authority.
Nyx was acutely aware of their presence as she could feel certain gazes shift faintly in her direction as her colossal draconic aura brushed against distant boundaries.
Some of those beings were stronger than her by a significant margin, standing in realms she had not yet stepped into and could only dream of entering.
Their power was older, heavier, and layered with experiences that dwarfed even her own.
She was not arrogant, and despite her immense strength, she did not move recklessly within this realm after the commotion she had already caused by her short but explosive battle against Dajjal.
She compressed her aura and masked her presence where necessary, while limiting unnecessary spatial distortions as she advanced.
Soon, she reached the breach node.
To most beings, it would appear as nothing more than ordinary space that had already returned to its natural state as the earlier fracture between realms had sealed completely, leaving no obvious sign behind.
But to her, it remained a weak link within the laws of the Shadow Realm.
She could see the subtle irregularity and the almost imperceptible distortion in the flow of space where the barrier between worlds had once been disturbed.
Her massive form compressed smoothly, and in the next instant, she reverted to her small humanoid shape.
Now standing quietly within the endless darkness, her lithe figure appeared almost fragile compared to her true form, yet the quiet authority surrounding her remained unchanged.
She extended her senses outward carefully, as she did not neglect the possibility that the dark emperor, despite his grievous injuries, might have attempted to shadow her movements.
A desperate being could resort to desperate measures, and she was not naive enough to assume he would simply flee without attempting to gather information.
Her perception spread across multiple layers of space.
She searched for hidden fluctuations, suppressed auras, lingering distortions, anything that would suggest some secret surveillance, but she found nothing.
The silence was genuine, but instead of relief, a faint trace of disappointment passed through her calm expression, and she believed that it was a pity, as she had half expected him to attempt something foolish in his desperation.
Her slender fingers began to glow with a mysterious colorless light.
The light was not bright, nor did it emit visible energy waves.
Instead, it blurred the space around her hand subtly, as though reality itself was being smoothed and reshaped under her control.
With a simple, precise motion, she swiped her hand across the air.
Space was sliced cleanly in the wake of her fingers, and a sharp spatial rift opened before her, its interior revealing a multicolored kaelidoscope like world beyond.
It led directly to the Sanctum Realm, the domain perched atop the mountain rising from the center of the Dark Abyss, located precisely at the heart of the vast Blood Veil Continent.
