Rise Of The Infinite Sovereign-Chapter 418: Nascent Realm
Chapter 418: Nascent Realm
With the appearance of the flame, it led to the completion of the soul refinement without the need for manual input, resulting in the creation of a star’s ember.
With this, Ezra officially stepped into the realm of the powerful.
The Nascent realm.
A shimmering deep red glow encompasses his body and, thereafter, his body began to squeak and creak like an old machine.
Ezra felt his body being strengthened on a molecular level, as well as his mind.
His consciousness spread as did the range of his senses, and for a finishing touch, his deep red eyes gained a magnificent glow, with his vision having become clearer than before.
"Ohhhh!"
Feeling these changes, Ezra lets off a shout that went far and wide.
With this, all the lethargic expression, dizziness and mental fatigue accumulated over who knew how long, disappeared like snow, leaving behind a fully energized Ezra.
But he wasn’t the only one benefitting from his breakthrough.
Beyond him, a great number of individuals in the Sovereign Universe, totalling multiple millions, also had their energy renewed as their bodies lit up, glowing with a very thin membrane of light red energy.
Unlike Ezra, these people did not faint or float, but each of them felt a change in their souls and felt their bodies and affinities strengthen.
All these people were Ezra’s subordinates registered under the system’s <Omni-subordination> skill.
Sidal was also going through the same phenomenon.
Some felt the change more than others, depending on the stage of power they were normally at without the skill’s enhancement.
The less powerful one was normally, the worse they felt.
Incipients like Sidal, who were the majority, felt excruciating pain as their bodies went through fundamental change, forcefully shifting to a more powerful form to allow the preservation of their lives.
Frederick, on the other hand, didn’t feel much pain.
Being just a stage below Ezra, he was able to acclimatize to the new boost far more easily.
The paradox was that he was experiencing a greater boost in his power thanks to the effect of <Loyalty of Strength>.
In this way, a large number of people in the Sovereign Universe were strengthened.
Meanwhile...
Standing gallant once more, he clenched his fist and made a mighty punch in the air, sending out a shockwave rippling through the sky.
Looking at his clean skin, Ezra tried to absorb the Origin Energy in the atmosphere, but as expected, it declined the invitation.
No longer able to absorb Origin Energy, Ezra is fully convinced of his breakthrough.
Just as he would begin testing his new powers, Ezra began to feel suffocated.
Apprehensive, he looked around to see no one nearby, yet the feeling of suffocation was getting stronger.
In no time, from what felt like a minor issue, Ezra began feeling a threat to his life.
His entire body felt like someone was trying to crush it into meat paste and grind him into a liquid.
Either way, Ezra judged that his life was about to be snuffed out like a candle and hastily activated <Gatekeeper>, popping into the Sovereign Universe instantly.
*Gasp*
Gasping like a tired giraffe, Ezra’s mind was whirling as he thought of the phenomenon that had just occurred.
The excitement of his breakthrough was already diminished significantly.
’What was that?!’
[It was the secret realm] Zydrax replied.
[It is a secret realm exclusively for Transcendents, so it is natural that the secret realm tried to chase you away] he continued.
[And I guess the Constellation who constructed it also placed safeguards in place in case someone above the Transcendent-rank was somehow able to gain entry. He most not like intruders]
"I see..." Ezra replied.
With the phenomenon explained, Ezra was much more at ease, though he still found it very annoying.
While unable to test his new limits in the secret realm, Ezra had no trouble doing so in his own universe.
Stretching his gaze far and wide, Ezra teleported to a barren planet.
Planet Ketta, the red planet he had tested his abilities on a while back after just breaking through to the fifth rank.
Now he was here again as a Nascent.
He could have slowly gone through it like he normally did, testing his new movement speed and strength capabilities, but Ezra was itching to see how much his firepower increased first and foremost.
Without any preamble, he brought out Skyfall, his gleaming, sinister looking scythe, and infused it with the fire element, condensing his energy into the object as much as he could.
Rather than the blue color of Origin Energy, the pure form of Nova Essence, was light red.
His current act was to test both his mana control and cross check the quality of Skyfall.
While Ezra deemed it precious, if it was unable to handle this level of energy after being reinforced, he would be forced to look for another weapon.
Ezra would never want to battle with a weapon that could shatter during the fight and die thinking ’If I had a better weapon’.
Wouldn’t that just be a dog’s death?
He had to assure himself of Skyfall’s durability and ability to conduct Nova Essence.
At once, he spun the weapon at breakneck speed, shouting as veins popped on the top of his skin before letting off a swing, releasing the energy as he did.
Instantly, a slash of energy was let off which, touching the ground, cleaved into it like a sword, dividing it massively, a large improvement compared to his attacks at the fifth rank.
"Hmm?"
But something out of his expectations started happening.
The slash of fire wasn’t diminishing!
Even after cleaving far enough into the ground to create a grand canyon, it continued to cut deeper.
It extended the canyon’s length up to the point that Ezra was forced to take to space to see just how far it extended.
Upon seeing it in full, Ezra let off a short exclamation.
"Wow"
The slash of fire moved through the world, creating a canyon that stretched for approximately a quarter of the world in length before stopping.
Beyond that, Ezra also observed that the depth was considerable.
’That’s something’
He could see a sea of lava at the bottom of the canyon.
Ezra hadn’t even known lava was located beneath the ground like that.
[Impressive] Zydrax commented, having watched the entire demonstration.
[A little deeper and it would have reached the world core]
"How good is it when compared to others?"
[Hmm, a rough estimate huh?...No entry level Nascent should normally be able to produce such firepower] he stated.
[But any established level Nascent should be able to do so easily]
"So I’m pretty strong?"
[Well, if you’re fighting against weaklings like yourself, then yes, but I advise that you don’t let this minor achievement cloud your mind. You have many more great things to achieve in the future]
Ezra nodded absentmindedly.
"To be receiving lectures at this age...alright, I’ll keep your words in mind"
[Good] Zydrax replied.
[Anyways, congratulations on becoming a Nascent, just remember that you still have a long way to go]
"Thank you, and how can I forget with you reminding me so much?" Ezra gestured, making a slight chuckle.
[Whatever] Zydrax continued.
[By the way, your breakthrough seems to have prompted some change in the system]
"Really?"
[I’m not sure, but you should look into it once you’re done with what it is that you’re doing. I have to get to fixing those madmen factories]
"Will do"
While Zydrax had let off strong words of caution and warning to make sure Ezra did not grow an arrogant and obnoxious personality, his real thoughts were much different.
’This guy is more impressive than I expected’
This was Zydraxs thought during the time Ezra was cultivating in his consciousness.
He had heard Ezra calling him while cultivating, but refused to answer out of concern for Ezra as distractions would impede his cultivation and he also wanted to see whether or not Ezra would reach Nascent-rank in one go or eventually take a break halfway through.
Needless to say, Zydrax was astounded by his impressive willpower.
But beyond his impressive willpower, his firepower was also impressive. Manifesting the firepower that was normally showcased by Nascents one stage above was no common feat!
In hindsight, it meant Ezra’s progression throughout Nascent-rank would follow the same trail.
He would be able to consistently display the firepower of those a stage above him all while he was a Nascent.
Whether or not the ability would carry over when he became an Ascendant was a different case entirely.
During his time as a nascent, Zydrax was sure Ezra would catch many eyes but, if nothing else, he had the confidence to be able to handle anything of the sort.
Moreover, Ezra’s special abilities made it so he would be able to escape all types of danger.
Imagining the various battles to ensue in the future, Zydrax was suddenly fired up.
’Let’s get this thing fixed quickly’
Wouldn’t it be better if Ezra’s battles had an army of madmen at his command as well?
Zydrax suddenly wanted to see such a scene.
On the other hand...
Left alone, Ezra inhaled deeply, smiling like he had just gotten married at the realization.
He had done it. He had achieved his aim and reached a massive milestone in cultivating.
But at the same time, he calmed himself significantly.
’This is just the start’
While the Nascent realm connoted the realm of the strong, it was but a starting line for the truly strong.
’I have many more realms to reach’
But he was not endeared, rather, the realization only had Ezra excited.
The last hurdle of the Nascent realm taught him a valuable lesson.
’As long as I don’t give up, I will eventually get to where I’m going’
Having garnered so much mental fatigue, there were many times Ezra wavered whilst accumulating energy, wondering whether it would be better if he simply gave up and continued later.
After all, what was the harm in taking a little break?
Wouldn’t it even be better for him if he took a shower, rested, slept, and ate something?
But Ezra persisted instead, and thanks to that, he had now become a Nascent before the year’s end.
’No, wait’ Ezra suddenly thought.
’How long did I cultivate for anyway?’
Curious, he called Zydrax over.
"How long did I cultivate for?"
[Almost six months] Zydrax replied instantly.
"Hmm..." he contemplated.
"A bit more than I intended, but that doesn’t matter much"
Then it hit him.
"Oh right. That means mother hasn’t seen me in three months"
Like this, his immediate priority was decided.
"I need to visit her right away".
Without waiting, Ezra teleported using <Sovereign’s Movement> and appeared in Orion.
[...]
Zydrax, who had intended to give him some good news, simply shut his mouth and went back to reconfiguring the factory.
