Rise Of The Infinite Sovereign-Chapter 381: New Title
Chapter 381: New Title
Leaving Severus, Ezra arrived in Traxford with Frederick in tow.
He gazed at the skyscraper, Black Sky in the distance, observing many other high rise buildings. At this point in time, Traxford is most likely the most developed city in the whole of Orion.
Being night time, the city view from above looked like a cascade of colours ricocheting off of different buildings.
Ezra hadn’t told the congregation that he was the actual owner of Black Jaws-as there was no need for others to know-and only gave directives to Frederick as he did everyone else.
In a bit, they were at Black Sky’s entrance.
At the guild master, Frederick’s access was all-encompassing. They reached his office on the top floor in less than a minute, before then heading to a private storage compartment.
Here, Ezra used and had the rest of the books he’d bought pour out onto the ground.
Having bought three copies of each book and given no more than fifty to Mrs. Elisa, many more remained.
Among these were also those he hadn’t shared with Valentine, such as books detailing new methods of farming, invention of a printing press, development of economic processes that explained division of labour, demand and supply, energy level appraisers that would help in discovering those innately gifted to be mages, along with many other books and machines of such nature.
To create a movement that would bring change to Orion as a whole, such knowledge had to be made as accessible as possible to commoners, spread in every way to make them adapt quickly.
To do such a thing, using Black Jaws already established influence was best.
They offer the service of the best mall in Orion was Black Sky-their creation.
The goods sold here had become so prominent across the entire continent and even beyond that nobles would hesitate to get their pass revoked by going against them.
Additionally, the cultivation rooms filled with mana stones were irresistible to mercenaries who wanted to get stronger without becoming a knight or something of the sort.
As such, almost all mercenaries of Niton and even those of other kingdoms were affiliated with them in one way or another.
Meaning they had the power to command a nation worth of mercenaries to do their bidding.
Then, thanks to the merits they remitted during troubled times and the fact that the guild master was a Grandmaster, it would be hard for nobles to intervene in their matters.
Thus making it so despite their inevitable discomfort about the empowering of commoners, the nobles wouldn’t be able to do much to stop it.
Done with that, both men sat and discussed their part of the plan, outlining the method to spread the new knowledge.
"This will cost a significant amount of money" Fredrick remarked.
"It’s a good thing we don’t lack money" Ezra replied, causing both men to burst into laughter.
As laughter died out. Ezra "I will leave you to decide the finicky details"
With that Ezra rose from his seat, bidding farewell to his friend before then returning to Quartez.
Just like this, the plan was set in motion, and while he was the mastermind, he needed not watch over the process personally and just supervise since the roles and tasks had been properly distributed, to competent individuals nonetheless.
Back in Quartez, Ezra cuddled Severus under the cover of night, thinking back on the plan made, he recalled Valentine looking at him weirdly...or was it just his imagination?
Putting that aside, Ezra looked at the frozen Kraken.
’It’s really resilient’
The intermittent eye movement within the ice proved its lively state, something very few could do when encased in ice made by a Transcendent.
A Grandmaster would’ve died by now, but the Kraken was still lively.
But he could also see signs of it waning. Meaning the life force was slowly slipping away as well.
Without further ado, Ezra excused himself, directly exiting his universe, and then arriving at Cretin.
Taking out his communicator, Ezra heads straight to AlphaNova’s mall.
It would’ve been easier to ask Zydrax about this, but with Zydrax not being in touch, he was probably doing something important.
Ezra didn’t go to see Sidal, such an act was entirely unnecessary.
Instead, with quick thinking, Ezra used his communicator to search for ’beast contracting’ on the galactic web having reached the wall.
Like so, he instantly obtained wide range information on the subject and with his speed reading capabilities, quickly found what he was looking for.
Signalling to an attendant, Ezra had them lead him to the section where items used to contract or subjugate beasts were kept.
Inside were collars of many kinds, but Ezra sought a better item and naturally, one of the most expensive ones.
But it mattered little. Eventually picking a fairly high ranked magic scroll for contracting beasts as pets.
Ordering four copies, he swiftly paid for it. Subsequently, he ordered for more energy appraising devices which were to be distributed in Orion, all kept in his space ring and exited the mall.
Less than four minutes later, Ezra appears back in Quartez. He’d already dropped the energy appraisers with Frederick minutes prior.
Unfolding the magic scroll, he placed the magic scroll against Severus’s head.
The scroll was impeccably white, with a sigil drawn with dried blue ink atop it.
Placing his palm against the sigil, Ezra released his energy, lighting up the sigil as it imprinted itself on Severus’s forehead before finally fading, signifying successful usage.
Following this, the scroll began to burn from the edges until it turned into dust.
With the scroll properly deployed, all that remained was to test its effects.
It mentioned that a person should only bond with beasts either on an equally powerful or less powerful, otherwise rejection could take the life of the person.
But with the clear rank difference, there was nothing to worry about.
’Let’s see, it said-
A sudden notification cut off his train of thought.
{Confirming the soul bond...}
{Soul bond confirmed}
{Confirming soul bond recipient...}
{Recipient confirmed: Mountain Python}
{Designation: -Severus-}
{Omni-Subordination is activating...} freeωebnovēl.c૦m
{-Severus- is now a subordinate}
{Due to the soul bond, -Severus- is now privy to a portion of the effects from the sovereign cultivation}
{Strength of loyalty is activated}
Ezra was perplexed.
’It’s been a while since I saw these’
It’d been a good while since he even opened the system.
With the core off doing other things, the messages weren’t read out loud.
Reading the messages, Ezra exclaimed;
’Even beasts can be subordinated?’
This was an astounding discovery!
Till now he hadn’t thought of such a possibility, but seeing this, questions sprouted.
’Does it only work with beasts I make a bond with?’
’Is there some kind of requirement or can I subordinate any beast?’
His thoughts were all over the place when an unfamiliar voice popped into his head.
’Master’
Spoken in the tone of a young boy, Ezra immediately broke from his contemplation, visibly startled.
...!
Alarmed, Ezra looked straight at Severus, poking with his thoughts to confirm his suspicions.
’Severus...was that you?’
’Yes, master. It’s me!’ Severus replied, his voice beaming with joy. ’You can really hear me now?’
’I can. This must be a function of the soul bond’
As they communicated, Ezra tested a couple of things.
For one, if Ezra wasn’t nearby Severus, communication would cease.
Moreover, without the intent to communicate, neither party could read what the other was thinking.
Lastly, Ezra deemed the soul bonding to have caused no side effects as of now.
With this new ability, Ezra was forced to reconsider his thoughts on making the Kraken into a pet.
Maybe he wouldn’t soul bind with him as he had with Severus?
Thinking it over, Ezra decided to abandon the thought all together and opt for another approach entirely.
Grabbing the frozen Kraken, Ezra exited the universe and then teleported straight into AlphaNova’s base where he then told Sidal of his plan to sell the Kraken and its feasibility.
Sidal, though first perturbed by Ezra’s sudden arrival, was quick to answer, slightly adjusting his monocle.
Unsurprisingly, there was already a market for such goods, aimed at those among the rich with the peculiar hobby of collecting rare creatures.
The Kraken was a rare creature even in space, and being of such low ranking meant there would be more bidders since bonding with a creature more powerful than them wasn’t someone most people would attempt, making it even rarer.
Meaning they had to be alive. That was no problem in Ezra’s case.
So the request was easily made.
In fact, Sidal proposed to auction the Kraken at the same time as the astral elixir.
Dialling a few numbers, a large glass box of water big enough to contain the Kraken was soon delivered.
With little haste, Ezra placed the Kraken into the glass box before unfreezing the Kraken, and closing the box.
Regaining mobility, the Kraken didn’t outrage at all, acting docile in a matter that shocked Sidal, but the fear in its eyes towards Ezra said it all.
Making some small talk, Sidal coquettishly questioned him about his coming to the mall merely an hour ago and Ezra replied that he came by to get those items for an acquaintance.
With that, he returns to Quartez.
Now, almost midnight, Ezra simply sits underneath the dome with his back resting against Severus.
With the other objectives set in motion, Ezra focused on the final one, his personal strength.
’Status’
Opening the sovereign system to full, Ezra finds [Renown] glowing.
Opening the function, he finds a new Title laying there.
[Astral Beast Killer]
Grade: Star Zone
Effect: You will be now be able to sense the presence of Astral beasts nearby, but in turn, they will sense your presence as well
’The effect is very tame...but I guess I shouldn’t expect too much’ Ezra th
ought, placating himself.
This Title was the least useful one among those he had.
With that out of the way, Ezra thought moved to other functions.
It was about time he tested the rest of the system skills.
