Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 362. Would You Like a Snack?
Chapter 362: Chapter 362. Would You Like a Snack?
Before going back, Amon traveled the maze to get the Thunder Roc. He could not yet share his senses with Lin Li despite their bond, but he could telepathically talk with her as long as she was not too far away. He asked her to rearrange the maze so he could get to the Thunder Roc. Meanwhile, he sent a mental command for the Thunder Roc to stop moving.
He sent the Thunder Roc back into his black space ring after reuniting with it. He then returned to Yuka’s prison room.
He took over the control panel from Lin Li. Standing behind the pedestal, he aimed the safety device at the warden puppet standing guard over Yuka and activated it.
Once he did, the warden puppet slumped.
"Hm?" Yuka appeared surprised. She probably never believed Amon. She floated to the warden puppet and took a closer look at it.
The hands on the woman’s part of Yuka pushed at the stationary puppet, which fell backward without any resistance.
Yuka looked at the fallen puppet for a while. Her surprised face turned sinister.
"Hahaha!" She shot forward in Amon’s direction.
"Ahhh...!!" Lin Li shouted in terror. She stumbled back in a panic.
Amon, on the other hand, stood steadily behind the pedestal. The glowing rope behind Yuka became taut when it reached its maximum length. Yuka came to a dead stop because she couldn’t advance further. The tentacles under her lashed out, attempting to catch Amon and Lin Li, but they stopped short a couple of meters from Amon.
"Hm... You expected this?" Yuka asked when she saw Amon’s calm face.
"I didn’t expect you to come at me the second I helped you. I thought you would at least show some pretenses," Amon answered. "However, I know that even if you do, you won’t reach me. The maker of this place wasn’t stupid enough to make a control panel that can be reached by you. I’m also pretty sure your chain prevents you from using any long-range ability that can harm the operator of this control panel."
"Hehe. You just make me want to eat you more, even more than that multi-tailed fox," Yuka said. She showed it by licking the mouth of her human face.
"Brother... Do we truly want to aid this thing?" Lin Li asked Amon.
"No need to worry about her. You can go back home for now," Amon said. He sent Lin Li back into his black space ring.
"Mm... Interesting thing you have there," Yuka said. She could sense it when Lin Li entered the black ring.
The vial Amon showed previously reappeared in his hand. He threw that vial at Yuka, who caught it using her human hand.
"Keep up your end of the deal," Amon said.
"Hehe," Yuka chuckled. Her human hand pointed at her other arm. That finger elongated and sharpened. The pointy end of the finger pricked the arm. Blood started dripping. She collected the dripping blood using Amon’s vial. After the vial was full, she licked the wound. The wound closed, and her blood stopped coming out.
She offered the vial to Amon.
"Throw it to me," Amon said.
"You don’t trust me?" Yuka asked. Her face showed a hurt expression.
"Your recent action didn’t exactly convince me to trust you," Amon replied.
"I was just messing with you. I was never going to truly eat you," Yuka said with a laugh. She threw the vial to Amon.
Amon caught the vial and stored it. He said, "Whatever. I will come again next month to take your blood."
"You will bring me something to eat then, right? Please know I will only eat cultivators or at least superior beasts."
"I will take your blood monthly, but I will only feed you once every three months," Amon said.
"Hm..." Yuka’s eyes squinted menacingly.
"I said I will bring you regular nourishment. I never said it would be every month," Amon said. "You have survived for so long without food. Giving you a meal once every three months is already a great improvement."
"I suppose I have no say in that," Yuka said. He pulled at her chain. The chain glowed as it resisted her pull.
Amon looked at the reading on the control panel as Yuka did the pull. He then accessed the function to eject outsiders from this world. However, before he went ahead with it, he thought of something.
"Hey," he called.
"Hm? Did you call me?" Yuka asked.
"Do you see any other person here?" Amon asked in return.
"I don’t appreciate the tone, demon cultivator," Yuka uttered.
"Would you like a snack?" Amon asked.

"Fuck this! I had it with this place. Just let me out already!"
Yan Long was still trying to find his way inside the maze. It had been hours. He no longer cared about completing the mission. To hell with the academic points. He would be glad if he could find the entrance where they came from. He would gladly go back and exit the portal.
The walls rearrange themselves again. This had happened several times. He swore this place was actively keeping them from leaving.
He looked around him. After the rearrangement, his three sides were covered with walls. Only one path was available. He had no choice but to follow that path. As he walked, he was surprised to find no intersections. Previously, there were many intersections. He was always at a loss about which path to take. He was happy now that he didn’t need to be confused about which path to choose.
After following the path for a few minutes, he came to the exit. He blinked a few times to make sure he didn’t see wrong. He looked back at the path that brought him here. It was now closed.
"What the hell?" He asked. Did this mean he couldn’t go back?
He looked at the only path left for him, the hallway. Should he go forward? What if he encountered a functional high-tier runic battle puppet? He didn’t have the safety device. Sima Fang had it. Should he wait for her here?
He looked back again. The return path was covered by a wall. Maybe the wall would open when someone came near, or maybe everyone was already in the other room. He was the only one left. That’s why the return path was closed.
With that thought, he decided to check out the next room. He walked down the hallway. He looked around nervously, worried about whether there were traps. He didn’t know how to spot a trap. There were lectures about this topic in some theory classes, but he didn’t exactly pay attention during those classes. He erected a water bubble around himself for protection, just in case.
After what he felt like ages, he finally came to the end of the hallway. He wasn’t joyful about the achievement, though, because what awaited him after the hallway was pitch-black darkness. Like Amon and Wong cou, he also took out a bright flare stone, only to learn it was ineffective against the darkness.
"Hello!" He called. "Sima Fang? Huang San? Wong Cou...? Are you there?"
No one replied.
He hesitated. He looked back at the hallway. Should he go back? He was at a loss. Both options were not promising. However, the return option wasn’t exactly an option. The way back was closed. If he chose to go back, it would be him sitting in wait for the walls to open, and he didn’t know if the walls would ever open again.
After a long thought, he decided to brave the unknown. Before he entered the darkness, he called another time. He called all the nine students who came with him, even Lin Mo, who he hated the most. Still, no one answered. He took a deep breath and took a step forward. The water bubble was still protecting him.
He walked in the darkness. He could see nothing around him. He walked in a straight line. As long as he did, he should reach the opposite end of this room. Perhaps he would find an exit there.
He stopped when he heard a sound.
"Hello...?" He called.
Silence all around. Could it be his imagination? He didn’t believe in ghosts, but the current situation made his heart beat rapidly. He channeled more aether into his water bubble. The water that formed the bubble became thicker.
"Fuck this," he said and started running. The faster he reached the other end, the faster he could find the exit out of this room.
He then heard something he had heard not long ago.
"Have you ever wondered when you woke up today that this might be your last day of living?"
"Lin Mo?!" He turned in the direction of the voice. But instead of seeing Lin Mo, what he saw was a mouth as large as himself. This mouth was filled with sharp teeth.
The water bubble around him burst at the mere touch of the teeth. He was too shocked to even utter a scream. The teeth sunk into him. He was unable to scream after that.
