Rise of the Arms Dealer in the World War-Chapter 14 - Restructuring
Chapter 14: Chapter 14 Restructuring
The factory buzzed with its usual rhythm, workers diligently tending to their tasks. Outside, it was business as usual, but within the company's main meeting room, a different kind of tension hung heavy in the air. It wasn't a regular meeting day, yet the room was filled with the company's top executives, each seated in anticipation.
When Ming entered the room alongside his father, the low hum of conversation ceased abruptly. The employees straightened their postures, their gazes sharp and expectant.
"Please, everyone, take your seats," Ming said, his tone calm but commanding. "What I have to share will take some time."
As he and his father settled at the head of the table, the others followed suit. Ming signaled to Siu Lin, who promptly distributed thick packets of documents to the twenty gathered staff members.
"These documents are for your eyes only. Once this meeting concludes, destroy them immediately. For now, I need your full attention."
The tension in the room grew palpable as the employees received their copies. Rumors had been swirling for days—Ming, the "young master," hadn't left his office for over a week. Stories of bold new ventures and whispers of impending layoffs had spread like wildfire, but no one knew the truth. Until now.
Ming began, his voice measured and deliberate. "In less than two years, this company has grown beyond expectations. We now employ over 400 people and operate multiple business ventures. However, rapid growth can be dangerous. A house built on unstable foundations is destined to collapse. That's why I've called you here today. It's time to strengthen our core."
All eyes were on him, the weight of his words sinking in.
Ming gestured toward the packets. "The details of our restructuring are outlined from page two to page five. We're dividing the company into three primary branches."
He began to explain, his tone steady and authoritative.
1. Headquarters
"The first branch is the Headquarters, which will oversee all operations. It will be led by my father and me. The Headquarters will handle personnel, audits, and planning for new ventures. Supporting us will be a team of secretaries, with Siu Lin appointed as the Chief Secretary."
Siu Lin stood and gave a brief nod. "I'll do my best to fulfill the role," she said firmly.
Ming nodded in approval. "Thank you. Let's move on."
2. Manufacturing and Production
"The second branch is our manufacturing and production unit, which encompasses our industrial facilities and partnerships. Its official name will be Minghan Industries. This branch will be led by Kim Seonghan."
Kim, an older man with an air of wisdom and composure, stood and bowed respectfully. "Thank you for entrusting me with this responsibility," he said.
Ming smiled slightly. Kim Seonghan wasn't just anyone—he was a longtime friend of Ming's father, personally recommended for his intellect and interpersonal skills.
"Your first task, Mr. Kim, is detailed on page six. Separate the internal factories from external partners. Identify which external suppliers should be acquired and which can remain independent contractors. We can't afford to produce everything ourselves—it's inefficient and costly. Delegate simpler or ambiguous tasks to outside sources."
Kim bowed again. "Understood. I'll handle it with care."
3. Logistics
"The third branch is logistics, which oversees all shipping operations. For now, my father will manage this directly. Its official name will be Minghan Logistics. Our fleet of six ships is insufficient, but we will be making significant investments to expand. Once the logistics branch is stable, it will operate independently, much like the manufacturing unit."
Ming's father stood and offered a deep bow. "I am Fang Shin, and I will oversee Minghan Logistics. I look forward to working with all of you."
The employees applauded instinctively, moved by his humility despite his high position.
4. Hospitality
"The fourth branch is hospitality, specifically our chain of restaurants, Makdonaldo. With just five locations, it's already proven its potential for expansion. The time has come to pursue aggressive growth. Jonathan Yang Basilio will lead this branch, supported by Headquarters."
Jonathan, a young man with golden hair, rose and bowed deeply. Though his appearance was foreign, his humility was evident. "Thank you for this opportunity. I'll approach it with a learner's mindset and do my best."
5. Security
"Finally, the security branch will be overseen by Simon, our current Head of Security. Its official name will be Minghan Security. Simon is not just responsible for protecting the company but ensuring the safety of everyone here."
Simon, a towering figure with an intimidating presence, stood briefly. "Simon. I'll do my best," he said curtly before sitting back down.
Though his demeanor was gruff, no one doubted his capabilities. Rumors of his formidable strength and unwavering discipline already preceded him, ensuring no one dared challenge his authority.
"turn to page fifteen," Ming instructed. "As our company grows, overlaps and conflicts will naturally arise. This section details the roles, responsibilities, and boundaries of each department. Adhere to these guidelines and ensure your teams understand them."
With that, Ming rose from his seat. "Confidentiality is paramount. Keep this information secure. We'll reconvene at the next scheduled meeting."
As Ming and his father left the room, the employees rose and bowed, the storm of information they'd just received still sinking in. The restructuring had created a ripple of confusion, but they understood its necessity. The era of improvised solutions was over. A new, systematic approach had begun.
A Vision for the Future
In his office later that night, Ming reflected on the transformation his company was undergoing. It wasn't just about efficiency or profit—it was about resilience. A clear structure would ensure the company's survival, even in the face of unforeseen challenges.

"In the end, a manual is only as strong as the experience behind it," he thought. "When problems arise, the real test begins."
He smiled faintly, knowing that every piece of the puzzle was falling into place. His company was no longer a fledgling enterprise. It was becoming a fortress, one that could weather any storm.
And Ming, ever the strategist, was ready to lead it into battle.
