Rise of The Anti God-Chapter 745: Akira's Orders
But he wondered what she meant by 'human stations'. Were they some places where humans hid?
However, from her words, he also realised that his aunt must have given the humans in this world a hard time in the past for them to target her like this.
But he wasn't surprised, considering that they killed her brother, who was also his father.
Even if Damien never saw his biological father, he didn't like how his human mother betrayed his father's love. If only she had truly loved his father, then the two of them could have paved a better future for both these races.
Instead, her actions had only bred further hatred and shed more blood.
After personally seeing the bone-deep hatred between ghouls and humans, Damien was worried that his wives might get in danger because of this.
"Forget about those humans. I won't let them destroy my peace like before. It's not like that woman is still here for me to waste my energy and time," Akira said as her eyes briefly flashed with killing intent.
"Are you talking about my mother? What did you mean by she is not here?" Damien asked with a confused look.
Akira's expression suddenly softened as she looked at Damien and sighed, "Haa…I don't want you to waste your time on her like I did. After your father died, I wanted to take revenge and struck down on every human station I could, especially to find out where she was hiding," Her expression changed into disappointment as she added, "But I failed. It also seemed strange, but every one of those humans I confronted acted as if they never knew such a woman. I knew she was powerful, but I never knew she had ways to wipe people's memories and go into hiding where nobody could find her. Since I wasted so many years trying to find her, I know how hopeless it is, and I don't want to lose myself because of her. It wouldn't be something my late brother would have wanted."
She then looked at Damien and softly smiled, "And now that you finally came back to me, I would make sure to make up for all these years you lost. You deserve at least that after going through everything."
Mira bit her lip with an indignant look as she saw how much her Master was favoring her nephew. Even if he was family to her, he was someone who just showed up today while she had stuck along with her for almost her entire life.
She had never seen her Master showing so much partiality to someone, not even her. She could only swallow this fact by thinking that Damien was her only remaining family member.
Damien nodded with a smile, feeling lucky that he had such a concerned aunt who wasn't even holding back her care for him despite seeing him after 18 years. But he felt it quite odd about his mother's disappearance. There was also no telling if she was alive or why she suddenly went off the grid.
"Mira, the humans, didn't learn anything from you, did they?" Akira asked as she turned her gaze towards her.
Mira firmly shook her head as she said with a grudgeful look, "Fear not, Master. They tried their best, but I didn't break under their weak attempts. Rest assured, I fulfilled my mission."
"What mission?" Damien already knew Mira was doing some mission, but since she refused to tell him what it was, he purposefully asked again before his aunt.
Akira nodded with a relieved look, "Good. You have not failed me," She then looked at Damien and said, "I had sent Mira on a secret mission which I will tell you after we get back home. A place open like this will always have eyes and ears. Let's leave."
While the three were up in the sky, Akira asked Mira, "Did Larmun's son happen to come upon you?"
Mira frowned as she said, "Of course not. I would have told Master already if something like that happened. But why do you ask?"
Akira told her about the deal she made with Daemon Lord Larmun, making Mira grit her teeth as she said, "Those ingrates! How dare they make things tough for us despite helping them out so much. They are just bullying us even more than ever. It's like they think nobody can stand against their Daemon Horn continent," Even though Mira was angry, she also felt glad that her Master came to help her out. Otherwise, even she couldn't have predicted the outcome considering she never saw herself getting kidnapped.
"I am sorry, Master, for making things hard for you. If only I didn't get kidnapped, then you wouldn't have had to face them," Mira couldn't even look at her Master's face out of shame for making things hard for her.
Akira, who had never felt better because of Damien's return, shook her head and said, "Do not trouble yourself over it. It's not your fault you got kidnapped."
"But how did this Larmun guy's son know where she was? It just feels odd to me," Damien voiced his opinion, making Mira coldly scoff as she said, "Isn't it obvious? A privileged Daemon like him surely has his own connections here who let him know of almost everything that happens here. He just didn't try to help me because someone like him would rather take advantage of the situation. Ugh, I can't stand him. If only Master had given me permission, I would have already put his head on a spike."
Damien was sure anybody who pissed her off would rather kill themselves than end up in her hands.
"Forget about them. I have some important things to say to you, Mira," Akira said as she looked at Mira, making her wonder what kind of important thing it was for her Master to look so serious.
"From now on, you will personally look after Damien in my absence and also make sure nobody bullies him since I can't reveal his true identity any time soon. He might be a slave in name, but not even a hair should be harmed on his body. As my only disciple, this would be your responsibility as well. Do you understand how important this is, Mira?" Akira asked with a firm gaze, making Damien raise his brows.
