Riley Ross-Chapter 83: I’m A Fucking Hero
Chapter 83: Chapter 83: I’m A Fucking Hero
"Potential... Villain List?"
The students once again looked at each other when they heard that. They were all still stunned about the explosion almost ripping off their faces, and they still couldn’t fully grasp everything that was happening—and now something so inexplicably random was happening again.
There were people in uniform who weren’t students, and they’re calling themselves the Dark Millenium?
...And one of them has bombs strapped on him?
"Ah ah ah. Don’t make any funny moves, children."
Katrina, who was closest to the two infiltrators, flinched at the man’s words; her fats, jiggling wildly as she abruptly halted her steps.
"Did you really think your big, flapping, gasping-for-air, oil-stuffed ass could just sneak away like we wouldn’t notice?" The infiltrator looked at her in the eyes before eyeing her from head to toe, "The ground literally shakes when you move. And I can hear your diabetes breathing from way over here."
"That..." She gasped at the man, "That’s not a very nice thing to—Eep!"
Katrina wasn’t able to finish her words as the man suddenly stepped toward her, but Katherine quickly stood between them, extending her hand to protect Katrina from the man’s view.
"Scarlet Mage," the man chuckled as he saw Katherine block his path, "Now’s not the time to be a hero—although, seeing as you’re already on your way out of the Academy, that would be hard to do as you’ve already been completely brainwashed by them."
"What the fuck are you talking about? If I were you, I’d suggest you and your friend leave before the instructors come back."
"Friend?" The man glanced back. Katherine wanted to take this chance while he was distracted to do something, but her eyes quickly landed on all the bombs strapped on him. The man noticed this, and he only mocked her with a smile.
"You will find that Mr. Tuesday here is not my only friend," he said.
"Mr. Tuesday...?" Katherine smirked, "...And who are you supposed to be, Mr. Wednesday?"
"Monday, actually. As for your precious instructors, trust me when I say that they will be busy."
"What?"
"Yes." The infiltrator, Mr. Monday, took a step back before opening his arms and looking at the students of Class 1-V one by one, "And none of you have to worry, we are not here to hurt you. If we were, that bomb would have exploded right here where you’re standing—instead, we are here to liberate you. Well, some of you. We’re only here to fetch the students in the Potential Villain List."
"What list are you even spouting?! You—"
Before Katherine could finish her words, the quiet Mr. Tuesday finally moved. He raised his fist as he approached her, and a sharp, spear-like bone emerged from his wrist, cutting and tearing his flesh apart.
He still didn’t say anything, but from how he was glaring at Katherine, it was clear that he meant business and would probably attack with just the slightest provocation.
"The list, Scarlet Mage. You and the rest of the world are so caught up in this fake ideology that is the Mega Academy that you don’t even know they are treating you like cattle, spying on your every move... even labeling you a potential villain even though you haven’t done anything bad."
"Uh..." Gracey blinked a couple of times, looking at the rest of Baby Crew before returning Mr. Monday’s gaze, "...Why are you looking at me while saying that?"
"Because you, Mr. Gary Gray, are one of the lucky students who happen to be on that list."
"W-what...?"
"Oh, yes."
Mr. Monday leaned closer to Gracey, looking up at her with a wide grin on his face. Hannah and the rest of the Baby Crew quickly pulled her away, but she seemed completely out of it upon hearing his words.
"Don’t listen to no more bullshit, G."
"But it’s not bullshit at all, Ms. Bella Jackson. No, no. No."
"Your brother’s on it."
"What you say?"
"Oh! Tut tut tut!"
Mr. Monday clicked his tongue several times, fanning his coat to remind everyone that he still had bombs strapped to him.
It was weird to see—after all, he was wearing the same uniform as the rest of them, but you wouldn’t really mistake him for a student because behind the oversized pair of sunglasses was obviously a man well into his thirties.
How... did they not even notice or see them infiltrate their class? And when? Was it during the explosion, or even before?
They initially thought they just belonged to another class, but the bombs and the threats told them otherwise.
They truly were in a very precarious situation, but they could’ve also been dead if that bomb detonated in their area.
They kept them alive... because they were recruiting the students who were on this so-called Potential Villain List. There could be a chance that it was true, but would they really go through all this hassle?
"And so what if there’s a list?"
But of course, there were some who were still completely undeterred about everything—Hannah Ross.
"Do you really think that they’re just going to come with you just because you say they’re on some sort of list that says they could potentially become a villain one day?" Hannah stepped forward in front of the Baby Crew, "Isn’t that exactly what the Academy is for in the first place? To guide us on the right path? And trust me, I’ve spent enough time with this tall oaf to know he’s too sweet and stupid to become a villain."
Gracey immediately looked at Hannah when she heard that, not knowing whether to be happy or pissed off. As for Mr. Monday, he smirked at Hannah before backing away.
"Ms. Hannah Ross," he said, his words a bit breathy as he once again opened his coat for everyone to see the bombs, "Too bad you’re not on the list. But I am quite curious, as there are two students on the list in your merry little group."
"Huh?" freēwēbnovel.com
"Mr. Gary Gray, and Ms. Tomoe Reynolds."
Mr. Monday glanced at Tomoe, and Tomoe didn’t even react at all, she didn’t even return the glance. Mr. Monday only chuckled at this, before he reached both his hands out toward her and Gracey.
"Come now, children..." Mr. Monday smiled, "...You really don’t want to stay in a prison that has already labeled you as a bad guy, right?"
"Gary, don’t listen to this fool. Just stay behind—"
"But he’s right, Hannah."
"Huh...?"
Hannah blinked as she felt Gracey lightly shoving her to the side.
"What the fuck are you..."
"Big G?!"
"G-Gary...?"
"Gary... come back."
Even with almost every one of the Baby Crew calling for her, Gracey did not look back at all as she reached for Mr. Monday’s hand.
"Good choice," Mr. Monday whispered, "I am sure you won’t be—"
"Shut the fuck up you Baroque Works wannabe."
"Huh...?" Mr. Monday’s eyes twitched as he suddenly felt Gracey’s grip tighten around his hand. And before he knew it, Gracey’s arms were already wrapped around him.
"You know, I’ve always wondered if I could survive a couple of C4s on my face," Gracey leaned her head away to look at Mr. Monday. And soon, her eyes started to glow red, "I guess it’s time to test that out. Baby Monarch, Shield of the Turtle Fist."
Mr. Monday wasn’t even able to let out a single word as Gracey suddenly flew up into the air with him. The Baby Crew called for her to stop, but Gracey wasn’t hearing them at all. They could only watch as she flew high up to the point that they looked like a dot in the sky.
"You’re crazy!" Mr. Monday’s eyes turned wide as he looked down, "You won’t survive this!"
"You see... whatever file you think you have on me, it’s useless," Gracey smiled, "You know nothing, Jon Snow. I swallow bullets for breakfast."
"What?!"
"So, potential villain list your fucking ass," Gracey whispered in Mr. Monday’s ear before grabbing him by the neck tight and stretching her hand, "I’m a fucking hero."
And then without any hesitation, Gracey pulled out one of the bombs strapped onto Mr. Monday’s chest.
But nothing happened.
"What..."
"You do know heroes don’t typically kill people, right?" Mr. Monday softly chuckled. He tilted his head, showing a bit of his eyes behind the big pair of sunglasses, "And for your information, I don’t have data on you—Mega Academy has."
"What are you—"
And before Gracey could finish her words, smoke started to puff out from the bomb she was holding. She quickly held her breath, but then the smoke suddenly started dancing around her head before compressing into one clean line... and then entering through her nose.
"And they have described how to neutralize you quite well—a neuro suppressant gas, one dosage enough to knock out a dozen elephants... guess how much is in your body."
"You..." —and that was the only word that Gracey was able to let out before the whites in her eyes showed. Both her hands turned limp and fell to her sides before she started to drop back down to the ground.
As for Mr. Monday, he remained floating in the air; twirling his finger, while a wisp of the gas danced around it.
He watched Gracey be caught by Katherine in the air before following her down, landing right beside the Baby Crew who were already checking in on Gracey.
"Now..." Mr. Monday fanned his coat again as he looked at the rest of the students, "...Any other bright ideas? No? Good. You."
He then turned to Tomoe, "Come with us, or we will force—"
"Can I also come with you, Mr. Monday?"
"...What?"
Mr. Monday slowly turned his head toward the voice, only to see a boy with a rabbit mask standing right behind him.
"My name is Riley Ross," he said,
"My father is Bernard Ross. I believe that qualifies me as a most suitable hostage, Mr. Monday."
