Chapter 76: Chapter 76: The Fit

"Uniform...?"

"But... Mega Academy shouldn’t have uniforms. What about my drip?"

The students all looked at each other in disbelief, some of them even checking themselves, thinking they wasted effort in buying whole sets of clothes for the Academy.

"What about the clothes we brought for the trip?!"

"My clothes cost a lot! Why would I wear something else?!"

"This is stripping us of our rights!"

Hearing all the complaints of the students, the only thing Katherine could do was sigh. She placed her hands on her hips, thinking why the instructors tasked them to deliver the news to them in the first place. They were already going to babysit them during the entire trip, and now she was the one breaking this news to pubescent teens.

"Relax!" She raised her voice, causing a ripple of wind to blow across the entire classroom, shutting up the students who wouldn’t stop talking.

"As far as I know, you’re only going to wear this when we’re going out as a group," she said, shaking her head while motioning to the students to come forward and take their uniforms. "And honestly, there’s not much to see in Ohio. The most interesting part would be the hotel. Anyway, come and get your uniforms—then we will all meet outside the gate in an hour."

Some of the students still wanted to complain, but when the others started standing up from their seats, the only thing they could do was follow.

Since the Baby Crew was at the front of the class, they were the first ones to get their suitcases. Bella was the first to leave their group, but she waited outside the class for the others. For some reason, however, even after everyone was out, there was still someone missing from them—Riley.

Riley was standing in front of the class, his eyes fixed on the instructor’s stage that was now completely empty except for Katherine."

"I can not seem to find the suitcase prepared for me, Ms. Katherine." He looked up at her, and Katherine immediately raised her finger.

"Oh, that’s right!" She said, "They told me that you didn’t have a uniform since you would most likely not wear it."

"That is true, Ms. Katherine. I do not like wearing things that I have no approval of."

"...Right," Katherine narrowed her eyes at him, "That’s why they gave you this instead."

Katherine went to the podium and grabbed the box that had been sitting there from the start. She weighed it in her hand at first and then gave it to Riley.

"Open it. I honestly don’t know what it is, so I’m also quite curious."

Riley stared at the box for a few seconds before turning around and placing it on the table. Katherine quickly jumped out from the stage and stood right next to her, glancing at Riley and gesturing to him to open it.

"Stop with the suspense and open it already. Come on," Katherine pursed her lips, softly chuckling as she saw Riley just staring at it. Riley, however, still did not open the box at all, even after several seconds had passed.

"Do... you want me to open it for you?"

"No," Riley quickly shook his head as he moved the box away from Katherine, who was leaning awfully close to his side like the box was for her.

"I am trying to check what is inside using my powers, Katherine."

"You’re... doing what now?" Katherine raised an eyebrow, "And what is it? Can you... actually tell what it is? I’ve actually been hearing rumors about how busted your telekinetic abilities are... but can you actually do that?"

"Rumors?" Riley blinked as he glanced at Katherine’s shoulder.

"Yeah. Y—wait a minute," Katherine leaned away from him, "Don’t tell me you don’t know that you’re actually kinda famous around the campus?"

"I am?"

"Fuck yeah," Katherine softly giggled, "The super albino from Class 1-V, is what they’re calling you. Of course, Hera doesn’t really like it since the rumor was at her expense, since the rumor is that you beat her."

"I did not, Ms. Katherine."

"Well, I didn’t really think so—but you know how rumors are," she shrugged, "But anyway... what’s inside?"

"I am still trying to send my telekinetic radar into it, Ms. Katherine. But it is quite hard to do since the gap is too thin, and I am trying not to destroy it."

"...And how long do you think—"

"It is a pair of sunglasses, Ms. Katherine."

She couldn’t finish her words before Riley suddenly opened the box, and true enough, it was as Riley said it was, a pair of sunglasses.

"Shades...?" Katherine raised an eyebrow as she saw Riley grab the sunglasses from the box, "I mean... it looks fancy, but I don’t really think that’s going to hide your identity anytime soon—not to mention... you’re kinda extremely white."

"Your statement makes sense, Ms. Katherine."

Riley checked the sunglasses in his hands, trying to see if there was anything different about them. But even after rotating it in his view four times, it still looked like a normal pair of sunglasses. And so, he decided not to think about it anymore and just wear it.

"How do I look, Ms. Katherine?"

"Uh... you look—wait a minute."

Katherine was about to raise her eyebrow, but then took several steps back when she looked at Riley’s face. How could she not be taken aback when there was now suddenly a mask covering his entire face? A cat mask with red whiskers, to be exact.

"It... turned into a full mask!" She bellowed while pointing at his face.

Riley placed his hand on his cheek, only for it to pass through the mask like it was smoke.

"Oh!" Katherine gasped, her finger almost trembling, "It’s a hologram of some kind! And since it’s white... people would probably just assume the color of your hands is a disguise too!"

"Oh?" Riley tilted his head. "What does it look like?"

"It’s white with red whiskers, and it looks like one of those Japanese masks in anime?"

"Oh," Riley removed the sunglasses from his face and extended them to Katherine.

"...What?"

"Could you wear it so that I could see what it looks like, Ms. Katherine?"

"You... want me to wear it?" She narrowed her eyes at him for a few seconds, before hesitatingly grabbing the sunglasses and putting them on her face, "S-so... how do I look?"

"You look beautiful, Ms. Katherine."

"What? I meant the mask, kid. Stop it."

"I meant what I said, Ms. Katherine," Riley shrugged, "As for the mask, it did not appear."

"What?!" Katherine quickly removed the sunglasses from her face and looked at them. "Why not? Is it... possible that it’s biometrically locked for you?"

"Huh..." Katherine shrugged before handing the sunglasses back to him, "Anyway, I think your friends are waiting for you."

Riley turned to where Katherine was pointing, only to see Hannah and the others by the door and watching the two of them.

The Baby Crew were now all wearing the uniform—a white coat with golden lines, crimson pants, and a large pair of sunglasses that almost covered half their faces.

They were wearing the colors of Megawoman.

Gracey and Bella were snickering at them, with Gracey even doing some obscene signs with her hands.

"Great. Real mature, guys." Katherine rolled her eyes as she approached them, "Meet me at the gates in an hour—you guys did pack for three days, right?"

"Aye aye, Ma’am!" Gracey saluted her, but Katherine didn’t seem to care, only glancing at Riley one last time before nodding and walking away.

The Baby Crew immediately rushed toward Riley as soon as she was gone, bombarding him with a million questions. Their questions, however, all stopped when Riley put the sunglasses back on, the hologram instantly covering his face.

"What the—why do you get something like that?!" Bella gasped before removing her own pair of sunglasses, "Why can’t we have one?!"

"I... don’t think the school can afford all of us having that," Pauline whispered.

"Even so, this is favoritism. Favoritism, I say!"

And with that, the group started heading to the gates—not before, of course, spending time in the bingsoo store before heading to the gates at the designated time.

And there, all the freshman students were gathered, probably around 500 of them or so.

"Is it me... or are there fewer of us than be—"

[Everyone, please place your attention on me.]

"Ah, that’s my brother!" Bella quickly pointed at her brother, whose silver frame was protruding from the metal gate. She was almost about to call out to him, but quickly covered her mouth when she realized what she did and was about to do. Fortunately for her, it was too loud there and only Mr. Alloy’s voice could be heard.

[I will now be opening the gates!] Mr. Alloy announced, [And once you step out, please proceed to the bus assigned to your class immediately—don’t go walking around where you shouldn’t. Because trust me...

...there are a lot of vultures waiting for you outside.]
