Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Lu Zhen the Hooligan

Walking back into their bedroom, Leng Pan went into the closet directly and changed into a nightgown. She went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and headed straight to the bed.

Lu Zhen had taken out a tablet and was studying satellite maps he had downloaded earlier. After the shut down of the internet, he was glad he had taken the time to download some useful information in the last two days before the apocalypse.

After watching the news on TV that day, he knew the areas that had been severely affected by the meteorites and the ones that were still intact.

Thanks to some good karma, their community had remained mostly untouched. Even some of the affected buildings bore some cracks caused by the tremors resulting from the heavy impact of the falling meteorites. Not because they had been in direct contact with the falling rocks.

He still remembered Leng Pan mentioning that once zombies appeared, they would have to start fighting them soon and collecting supplies.

Even though they had bought a lot of things, he was worried about people discovering the space his wife had. As such, they had to be seen by others going out to look for supplies so as to avoid suspicion.

Moreover, he wasn’t even comfortable letting his family find out about the space. In that case, he couldn’t just sit around and wait to use the supplies in space without collecting more.

Leng Pan had also said that fighting zombies and other people regularly would help them gain experience and also enhance their superpowers.

Practicing the way they were doing now wasn’t enough to trigger significant improvement, but real battles where they fight for their lives could result in unexpected gains.

So, he was studying the map to determine where to start hunting once they were all ready. He just needed to practice his fire ability for a couple of days more to gain better control and have the ability to protect his wife in case of an accident.

When Leng Pan got into bed, she saw her husband concentrating on his tablet so much that she thought that the apocalypse had been a dream and they were back to reality where the CEO husband has to go over company documents and contracts first before bed.

As a qualified CEO, Lu Zhen sitting on the couch at that moment resembled the big shots described in CEO romance novels where the domineering CEO with a gold-framed glasses resting on his nose looks serious while reading documents and then turns into an insatiable beast once he takes his clothes off.

Thinking of that scene made her drool as that imaginary image was replaced by the husband in front of her.

’C’mon Leng Pan. What kind of lusty thoughts do you entertain all day long?’ she mentally slapped herself to wake up from her not-so-innocent thoughts.

Focusing her gaze on Lu Zhen, she found him looking straight at her with a smile that was not a smile. He looked like he had been watching something very entertaining.

Leng Pan, feeling like she had been seen through, turned red at a speed visible to the naked eye. She thought that her thoughts must have been read.

"So, what do I look like in your imagination?" Lu Zhen suddenly asked out of the blue.

Having her thoughts exposed, Leng Pan who hadn’t completely wiped that image from her mind answered subconsciously, "A refined scumbag." After the words left her mouth, she came back to her senses, ’Oh no! She had accidentally voiced her thoughts.’

Thinking of such an embarrassing action exposed, she became so shy that she wished her small body could dig a three bedroom apartment under the bed for her to hide and never come out.

Lu Zhen chuckled when he heard what she said about him. "A refined scumbag huh? I have to show you what a scumbag I can be when that kind Lu Tao learns how not to eavesdrop on others."

Lu Zhen hadn’t expected his little wife to have such a side. When she always avoided him before because of Bai Yinyin, he had thought she had no feelings for him.

Later when she proposed they get married, he had thought she had done it out of impulse, which was why he rushed her to the civil affairs bureau to get the marriage certificate before she changed her mind.

However, as they spent more time together, he came to realize that his wife could be quite passionate. It’s not that she didn’t have any feelings for him, but was actually avoiding them.

Now that nothing was restricting her thoughts or feelings, he could tell that she really loved him. This made him even happier than when she told him to get married. Because now he knew that she chose to marry him because she was in love with him, not out of guilt for their previous life or any other reason.

When Leng Pan heard his comment, she became even more certain that the man was a beast in human skin. But she was also glad that he had such thoughts about her. At least, it showed that he desired her no matter the circumstances.

She thought about how they were married and decided that she had a legal right to ogle her husband, so why was she doing it in secret?

Thinking of this, she pulled the blanket down and stared at him without reservations.

"You are my husband. Why can’t I look at you? Is it wrong for me to want to enjoy my husband’s looks?" She asked with a self-righteous look as if this gave her courage.

"No, you can look all you want. Do you want me to take off my clothes for a better look?" Lu Zhen asked with a knowing smile when Leng Pan claimed she wanted to enjoy his looks.

Just as he expected, she became shy again and buried her head under the blanket once more.

"You hooligan." Leng Pan muttered with a muffled voice.
