Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 411: Killing the First Group of Aliens
Lu Hao didn’t wait for them to gain a footing on the ground when he attacked.
He moved so fast that even Lu Zhen only saw a blur.
Lightning snapped through the air and struck one alien through the eye socket before it fully stabilized above ground.
It was an instant kill. There wasn’t even screaming as the alien collapsed on the ground.
Lu Zhen didn’t hesitate for even a heart beat as a fire blade extended on his arm. His target was the alien with armour that was a different color from the rest.
He could tell that he was the leader and as they usually say, to catch a thief, capture the leader first.
The alien seemed to have figured that Lu Zhen was the leader of the humans team as well and decided to activate gravity distortion to make it impossible for Lu Zhen to move.
However, with his experience, Lu Zhen did not give it enough time to activate its ability.
He brought down the flaming sword with every ounce of strength he could master and the alien was split into two, including its armour.
After Leng Pan’s lecture before, wood superpower users who always thought that their ability was the most useless had also joined battle teams.
Now, the wood ability user who had followed Lu Zhen out reacted as well as he stimulated the growth of vines and grass around them and entangled the third alien with them.
It was wrapped so tightly that it couldn’t move an inch. Once it struggled and broke a few vines, more would wrap around it and tighten their hold.
Another warrior ran towards the alien and used the tang sword in hand to slash at its neck.
Unfortunately, he was just an ordinary person and didn’t have any special abilities. However, he didn’t stop and kept hacking, with each hack, cutting deeper into the alien’s neck.
The alien screamed in pain and thrushed around, breaking a lot of the vines and grass and nearly managing to escape, but the wood ability user reacted quickly and reinforced the vines.
He turned to look at a water ability user who had just finished killing the fourth alien with two other teammates working together and asked for help.
"Help to sprinkle some water at the base of the vines and grass. I am running out of energy to stimulate their growth." He said urgently and the water superpower user reacted immediately.
Water jets shot out of her palms and into the soil. The roots of the vines and grass absorbed the water instantly and the whole plant became more lush.
The vines became thicker immediately and held the aliens more firmly.
The warrior with a sword was still hacking and once the alien was steadied, he chopped a few more times and his head rolled to the ground.
The fifth alien had long been killed by Lu Zhen. And in less than ten minutes, all the aliens were dispatched on their way to hell.
Some of the ordinary survivors were completely tired and almost collapsed on the ground after the battle.
"Bring their bodies back. Let’s go back into the base first." Lu Zhen ordered and the team walked back like victors.
Even though they didn’t say the things Leng Pan had suggested earlier, the struggle to kill the aliens had been real for some of the fighters and that already sent a message that they didn’t have very many strong fighters.
That was better than deliberately mentioning it.
The aliens Lu Zhen brought back were dissected to check their structure but what surprised them was the fact that they had crystal cores, just like zombies.
"What the hell is this?" Lu Tao asked as he picked up one of the crystal cores with gloves hands.
"Why do they have crystal cores? Are the zombies not simply a weapon they formed to eliminate mankind on earth? Could it be that their primary goal was to create more aliens and turn this planet into an alien breeding ground but something went wrong?" Uncle Li asked.
"If that is the case, then what about the first apocalypse we found on the ancient earth? Was it also the same? Apart from zombies and aliens, there were also monsters there. Were they the results of experiments to create more aliens? Or what is going on here?" Leng Pan asked in surprise and confusion at the same time.
She could no longer understand what was going on. But all she needed to know with the others was that, "All you have to know is that they are enemies and we will stop at nothing until they are all wiped out." Lu Zhen reminded them.
"Ah Zhen is right. Let’s focus on the main goal. We will probably find out what is happening along the way." Li Yunjia agreed with her son.
"Okay then. What do we do with their bodies now?" Leng Pan asked with one palm on her chin.
Lu Zhen didn’t even speak as flames shot from his palm and completely incinerated the five corpses, leaving nothing behind.
Three days passed without any more aliens sighting. However, those who went out to collect information brought back news.
Several small bases with about a hundred to two hundred survivors had been wiped out.
Some survivors managed to escape, but not many and they had nowhere to go. Some had met with accidents and others had joined other larger bases.
But it was obvious that apart from the group that Lu Zhen’s team had killed, the other attacks from the aliens had succeeded.
Two days later, a report came that the aliens were moving in their direction again, but they weren’t using the normal channels.
This surprised Leng Pan as she wondered what channels they would use.
Then, Lu Hao reacted.
"They are here." He said as he stood up from the sofa in the living room where he was playing on an iPad and shot towards the door then headed to the roof.
Without a second thought, everyone else followed after him and Lu Tao sent a message to the others in the base as well.
He also advised families to take the elderly and children inside the building and stay quiet.
When they got to the roof, Lu Hao was already there looking in the distance.
"Where are they?" Lu Zhen asked.
"Above." Lu Hao replied while pointing at a spot in the sky some distance away. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
The dragon’s, which had shrunk themselves and stayed inside the training room, also reacted and jumped into the air, expanding at the same time.
Dark clouds began gathering unnaturally over the western skyline.
In the distance, a faint vertical distortion shimmered in the air.
"....is that?" Lu Tao whispered in disbelief.
