Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 396: Lu Zhen’s Relationship with Lu Hao
"If your great-grandfather used his DNA, shouldn’t the results show a percentage of less than 15%? Why is it 60% now? Even real siblings should be about 50%." Leng didn’t understand the reasoning behind Lu Zhen’s assumptions.
"Look at the manual of this machine. It is more sensitive to DNA and while regular machines can only show the relationship of maybe up to great-great-grandparents, this one can go back up to ten generations." Lu Zhen explained his reasoning.
"So, big brother, what you mean is, the results from this machine show a much greater percentage, the closer the relationship is. For parents, it is the usual 99.999%, for siblings, probably about 80%, cousins, uncles, aunts, about 75%, grandparents, 70%, grand uncles, grand aunts and such, 65%, then there is great-great-grandparents at 60%, right?" Lu Tao broke it down so much that Lu Zhen’s head began to hurt.
"That’s basically it. So, with this being the case, the sample used must have belonged to great-grandpa." Lu Zhen explained to both his brother and wife.
"Great-grandpa was quite bold to do something so dangerous. He succeeded in exchanging the DNA sample that was supposed to be used, but he also put himself and the whole Li family in danger. If some people with ulterior motives found out, he could have been accused of participating in the human experiments and supporting them. Luckily, he hid it well." Leng Pan had to admit that her great-grandfather-in-law was gutsy.
He could actually change the DNA sample, dig a tunnel and build a secret room below the experimental lab, and still not get caught.
"Mmm....but this is good for us. With Hao having more human DNA than alien DNA, he should resonate better with humans. Moreover, we were the first people he saw when he hatched. It could be said that he already treats us like family. We will test him here before going back to the base." Lu Zhen was still cautious.
Since they already knew that Hao was more human than alien, they had to take action and test him.
There were aliens below the building. Even if they had drowned, their energy signatures were still there. So, having Hao face them and see his reaction would help to understand him better.
Also, if they were lucky to run into other aliens, they could see how he handled the situation.
"Bring him out." Lu Zhen said with a deep and resolute voice.
"Okay." Leng Pan did as she was told and with a wave of her hand, both Hao and Shade appeared in the room.
Hao was holding onto Shade and kept urging the wolf to transform. Unfortunately, it seemed like Shade either didn’t understand him, or couldn’t be bothered.
"Where are we?" Seeing that the wolf was unconcerned about changing sizes, Hao turned to Lu Zhen and asked.
"Somewhere far from home. We decided to let you out after understanding what you meant before." Lu Zhen explained slowly.
"What I meant before?" Hao didn’t understand what Lu Zhen meant.
"Before, you said that you were the same as me, we didn’t understand what that meant. So, we decided to run some tests to help us understand. We have found that you and I are related by blood. I could either call you great-grandfather or grandfather. I am not sure which either. But I won’t call you that. From now on, you are my brother." Lu Zhen didn’t want to complicate the issue.
There was no way he would call Hao great-grandpa or grandfather. So, he decided to take the easiest route. Just turn the guy to his brother.
"Okay, big brother Zhen." Hao seemed quite pleased with himself when he called out to Lu Zhen.
One could tell that having Lu Zhen as his brother made him very happy.
"Mmm...this is your sister-in-law." Lu Zhen pointed at Leng Pan and introduced her, before turning to Lu Tao. "....and this is your second brother, Lu Tao. From now on, you will be Lu Hao." Lu Zhen explained patiently.
Even Lu Tao was getting jealous because his brother treated him so patiently before.
"Okay, brother Zhen, sister-in-law, brother Tao."Lu Hao called so confidently one would think that they had always been siblings.
"Okay, we have collected all the supplies here. Let’s go down and prepare to go back home." Leng Pan suggested and with a wave of her hand, the machines in the room disappeared.
She wasn’t going to waste such good resources. What if they needed more tests in the future?
Just as they stepped into the corridor, Hao stopped walking.
Lu Zhen, who was walking at the front, felt it and stopped.
Leng Pan was walking beside him and she stopped as well.
Lu Tao, who had been walking alongside Lu Hao and explaining the current situation humans were in, also came to a stop.
"What is it, third brother?" Lu Tao really fell into character very quickly.
He was already addressing Lu Hao intimately as the third brother.
"There is something strange below the building." Lu Hao said thoughtfully.
Leng Pan wondered if he was talking about the aliens or if there was something else there.
"What do you mean?" Lu Zhen asked seriously. He hadn’t expected Lu Hao to be so sensitive.
"There are creatures below. They seem to be dead, but are not. They are hibernating in water. When the water dries, they will wake up. But something feels off. I have a connection with them, but it feels hostile." Lu Hao explained.
Luckily, they had decided to bring him out, otherwise, they wouldn’t have known that those aliens hadn’t died but used the water Leng Pan drowned them in to hibernate and hide.
"You mean those aliens down there are still alive?" Lu Tao asked in shock.
"Yes, just hibernating. Why do I feel such hostility towards them when I have never met them?" Lu Hao asked curiously like a baby.
Leng Pan and Lu Zhen looked at each other and remembered the reason for the construction of the underground lab in the abandoned town.
