Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 317: A New Boulder Falling From the Sky

Everyone immediately ran towards the window to see what had happened.

From such a high floor, it wasn’t easy to see what had crashed on the ground, especially with the heavy snow still falling.

However, Lu Tao’s ability came in handy. He looked through the bullet-proof glass installed on the balcony and saw a huge boulder sitting in a crater by the side of their building.

The impact had been so huge that the snow around the crater had been blown away and only dark soil remained.

"It’s a huge black boulder. It doesn’t look anything special and is just sitting there on the soul." Lu Tao said after making sure there was nothing else around other than that single boulder.

The boulder looked unremarkable but at this point, no one would believe that anything that comes falling from the sky was normal.

"Let’s go get it before it attracts any attention." Lu Zhen suggested as he turned to look at his wife.

Leng Pan also agreed with her husband. Things that seem unremarkable might be related to the apocalypse or the aliens who have invaded earth, so it was better to keep it safe first before they could study it later.

They didn’t know if it had a connection to the aliens and whether falling from the sky had alerted them or sent a signal.

It was better to hide its presence first. With that thought, Leng Pan and Lu Zhen wrapped themselves in Lu Zhen’s superpower and left the apartment without even changing clothes or shoes.

They had to rely on Lu Zhen’s superpower to keep the snow away from them and also keep their bodies warm.

They descended the stairs at a fast speed and we’re down on the ground floor within two minutes.

They walked around the building and made their way to where the crater had formed.

With a wave of her hand, Leng Pan collected the boulder I to the space bangle.

"Okay, let’s go back before anyone shows up here." Lu Zhen said.

Ever since they recovered their memories of the previous ancient earth, they had realized that the aliens had some weird abilities and technology that humans couldn’t match, especially in the current backward earth.

As they turned to leave, Leng Pan suddenly stopped and looked at the crater left on the ground.

"Isn’t leaving that there clearly announcing to anyone who shows up that there was something there?" Leng Pan asked as she turned to look at her husband.

"Then what do you suggest we do, Baby?" Lu Zhen was open to suggestions as long as they didn’t stay there for too long.

"Wait and see." Leng Pan replied mysteriously before stepping out of the protective barrier created by Lu Zhen’s fire.

She stretched out her hand and a large ice shovel was formed. She used the ice shovel to move the soul that had scattered and filled the crater again.

Once she was done, she turned the shovel into snow flakes and let the fall to the ground.

She also began moving her spiritual power and created a rain of heavy snow in the place the crater had been.

Soon, the place was covered by snow just like everywhere else.

"There. Now no one would know that there was something there." Leng Pan said with a smile as she clapped her hands.

"Mmm....a clever idea. Alright, let’s go back inside before we turn into ice sculptures." Lu Zhen always indulged his wife, but he also agreed that covering up everything like that was a safer option compared to leaving the place bare for everyone to see.

The two then started walking back the way they came and this time Leng Pan used her experience well.

As they walked, heavy snow fell behind them covering the path they had created. When they walked into the building and looked back, there wasn’t a dent in the snow blanket outside.

With smiles on their faces, the two lovers walked up the stairs once more and went back to their apartment.

When they reached their floor, they first entered the apartment they shared together and went to change clothes first as Leng Pan’s had been covered in snow and Lu Zhen’s fire had melted it into water, thus, soaking them.

After the two were warm, they went back to the other apartment where their family was waiting.

"We can’t see it now or discuss it for the time being. Let’s wait and see if any flies are attracted here." Lu Zhen said when he saw that his mother was about to ask about the boulder.

"Okay." Li Yunjia replied and stopped the question that was about to leave her lips.

She understood that their boulder might look like a normal rock, but it might be the same as that stone they found a few days ago or the special meteorite known as the catalyst core her son and daughter-in-law found at the beginning of the apocalypse.

If it was the same and others found out that it was in their possession, it might bring them trouble.

Therefore, the family started discussing growing vegetables in one of the rooms to confuse others in case they later bring out fresh food and some people started asking questions.

Since they had already decided to grow food in the space bangle, they obviously needed a smokescreen, and using Auntie Li’s wood superpower and Leng Pan’s water ability were the best cover.

"What should we plant first? It would be better if we can divide that farm into sections and plant a different crop in each section. But since we can’t do everything at once, planting one or two crops at a time might be better.

Then we will plant more in containers or planters here in the house as a cover. What is your opinion on this?" Leng Pan asked after thinking about it for a few seconds.

"That’s a good suggestion. We should first plant spinach and tomatoes and see how they do before we try anything else.

These are also common foods that are easy to grow and won’t raise questions if offered to others." Li Yunjia agreed to support her daughter-in-law.
