Revive Rome: Wait! Why not make the empress fall in love with me first?-Chapter 491 - 3 Well-matched in Social and Economic Status
"Are you guys going shopping this afternoon?" Nora asked, standing by the elevator.
"Let’s go." The girls all stood up.
"What about Mia and Miel?" Nora asked.
"They’re playing VR games in your entertainment room," Medea said.
"Okay then." Nora opened a cabinet next to her, which contained dozens of glass compartments, each lit from within and each holding a handbag.
Although no one could recognize the brands, it was clear that they weren’t cheap.
"If we’re going out, pick a bag from here," Nora said with a smile, "That way, we won’t get stopped by the staff at the entrance of luxury stores~"
The girls: .........
"Then we’ll just return them to you after we get back," seeing everyone a bit speechless, Eleanor said with a laugh, "It’s just a temporary borrow for this outing."
"If you like them, feel free to keep them," Nora said softly, "These bags are actually not expensive..."
Stop it, Nora, just stop it! Everyone silently shed tears of poverty.
After everyone picked a bag, Nora seemed to perform a magic trick, pulling out five black-gold credit cards from her trouser pocket, handing them out with a smile:
"Take one each and go swipe it, some stores outside don’t support cash payment."
"What is this?" Ellie asked, having never seen a credit card before.
"It’s a credit card," Nora explained patiently, "It’s linked to my account. When you shop, just hand this over to the cashier, and after they swipe it, you can take your goods. The money will automatically be deducted from my account next month."
"No worries, I’ll show you how to use it in a bit," seeing Ellie’s confused face, Thira said with a smile, "By the way, Nora, what’s the limit on these cards?"
"Er, I forgot," Nora said embarrassingly, "Anyway, just swipe as much as you like, I remember it shouldn’t go overdrawn."
Ah, so it’s unlimited? Thira realized, so that’s how it is.
...Unlimited?!
She suddenly felt melancholic, remembering how, when she first ascended the throne in the East Solomon Empire, she fretted over the deficits shown on the financial statements. If only she had met Nora earlier and borrowed money from her...
No, she couldn’t bear to think any further, it was too heart-wrenching.
"Why are there only five cards?" Medea asked curiously, "Me, Eleanor, Thira, Peggy, Sigrdrifa..."
"I obviously have one for myself too," Nora said.
"Alright then," Medea waved to Peggy, "Stop shaking him; he’s already fallen asleep. Let’s go."
Peggy glanced reluctantly at Aske and then hurried over with a quick pace.
The girls exited laughing and chattering.
Only Aske was left, continuing to sleep in the rocking chair.
After who knows how long, suddenly a voice rang out.
"Lord Aske, Lord Aske?"
"Ummm..." Aske slowly sat up from the rocking chair, only to see an elderly butler standing before him, offering him a warm towel.
After wiping his face with the warm towel, Aske returned it to him and said, "Thank you."
"You’re welcome, you are a guest," the butler replied, "Miss wants to see you." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Nora?" Aske asked.
"No, it’s Miss Kapaxilin," the butler said solemnly, "the mistress of the Lixini Family."
"Nora’s sister?" Aske thought for a moment, then stood up, "Oh, let’s go."
Following the butler, they took the elevator to the 48th floor, which was the top level of the building and offered the broadest view. Stepping out of the elevator, the surroundings seemed to be dedicated to executive offices.
Even in the Otherworld, the highest floors of buildings were reserved for leaders—a true story.
The butler led Aske to a particular door and knocked. A woman’s voice responded from behind it:
"Come in."
Opening the door, the butler gestured for him to enter but remained outside himself.
As Aske pushed the door open, he saw a professionally dressed, attractive woman sitting at her desk, signing something on a display screen with an electronic pen.
This woman... she bore a slight resemblance to Nora, yet her aura was utterly different.
If Nora was a delicate and lovely little white flower, then this woman was a fully blossomed violet. Descriptors such as noble, glamorous, and awe-inspiring, all tinged with an air of Mary Sue, could be applied to the female CEO before him.
The only slight imperfection was perhaps her age.
Though meticulously maintained, Aske could still intuit that this woman was nearing thirty.
So, this was Nora’s sister, "Kapaxilin"?
"Sit," the woman commanded without looking up.
Aske didn’t hesitate, pulling out the chair in front of her and sitting down.
After a moment, Kapaxilin set aside the display screen, picked up a cup from beside her, and asked:
"Green tea? Black tea? Coffee?"
"No, thank you," Aske replied.
"Then green tea it is," Kapaxilin said, pouring a cup from the machine beside her and placing it in front of him.
"Not necessary," Aske said, not touching the cup.
Kapaxilin didn’t mind and turned to say:
"Vesta! Divert all calls and visits for the next hour, I have some private matters to attend to."
"Yes, Miss Kapaxilin," a female voice responded from within the room, and subsequently, the door clicked shut, locking automatically.
"Aske Lepeios Achilles, is that the name?" Kapaxilin asked, propping her chin on one hand as she scrutinized him, "You have blood from Dragon Country and Sirius?"
"Pretty much," Aske replied.
"What do you mean, pretty much?" Kapaxilin frowned displeasedly, "Either it is, or it isn’t."
"Can Miss Kapaxilin recall every single branch of her paternal and maternal bloodline going back generations?" Aske challenged.
"It’s no secret: my generation of the Lixini, including Nora and me, possesses 97% Italy Latin bloodline, 1.2% Sirius bloodline, 0.7% Egypt bloodline, 0.6% East Ilania bloodline, and 0.5% Jiamani bloodline," Kapaxilin replied calmly.
"I had forgotten Lixini is an ancient surname from Italy," Aske complimented nonchalantly, "with a complete and clear family lineage record."
"The Achilles family is no less," Kapaxilin’s expression softened slightly, "Although it has faced destructive attacks in recent decades, it is still an ancient family that has been passed down since the early Fourth Epoch. It’s not to say they aren’t a match in status."
Aske: ???
Say that again, what matches what?
