Revenge Wears Red Lipstick-Chapter 135: Plans
"I don’t think your ex-husband likes seeing me with you," said Tyler, his voice a little hoarser than usual. "Maybe he was jealous."
Eva scoffed before she shook her head.
"He’s not jealous," she replied stiffly.
Tyler seemed to disagree but once he opened his mouth to speak, Eva interrupted by changing the subject.
Talking about Dante’s jealousy made her stomach recoil.
It was already late at night, and she had important tasks to attend to the next day.
"Your manager has already been contacted and he should be here soon," she said. "I’m glad that you didn’t suffer too many injuries and I’ll completely understand if you want to sue me."
Tyler stared at her for a few seconds without saying a word. His nose was all bandaged up. He’d been attacked and any other person in his shoes would sue.
He shook his head. "I won’t sue you, Eva. We’re friends," he claimed.
Eva’s skin prickled at those words but she didn’t say anything. She was too tired to be shocked.
"I think you should go ahead and rest. My manager should be here anytime soon."
Eva didn’t need to be told twice. Her job was done and thankfully she wouldn’t be sued.
She left the hospital, quickly dropping Susan at her house since getting a cap that late at night would be difficult.
She quickly called Ryan who answered on the third ring.
"Anything yet?" She asked as soon as the lines were connected.
Ryan was silent for a second. "I think he was bluffing about having found Keisha just to piss you off. I managed to trace all of his movements but nothing led me to her."
Eva’s shoulders dropped in disappointment, but there was nothing she could do about it. She should have known that Mr. De Rossi was merely bluffing.
She’d been searching for Keisha for over a decade now and still hasn’t found her. She should have known.
"Don’t worry, I’ll keep searching for her," he assured.
Eva responded with a hum before hanging up the call.
She reached home that night, but instead of feeling relieved that she wasn’t getting sued, she felt even more distressed. She went into her bag where she’d kept the divorce papers, and fetched them out.
She stared at Dante’s signature boldly written on the document, her expression filled with mixed emotions.
Her hands crumbled on the papers, this time glaring at his signature. She reached for her phone and made a phone call to her lawyer. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
She didn’t trust herself if she delayed any longer.
Two weeks had passed since Tyler’s incident that led him to the hospital, two weeks since Dante had signed the divorce papers, and two weeks since Eva saw him again.
Since she made her comeback, he stalked her and she felt it. But now, he’d completely disappeared. She didn’t spot anyone around anymore, and she didn’t feel like someone was watching the entire time.
Eva decided to continue with her schedule while secretly taking down more shipments and kidnappings occurring in Lexora.
But somehow, her mind couldn’t help but linger, thinking about Dante.

"And why should I help you?" A man asked, his hands palmed against each other with his fingers playing with each other as if deeply calculating something.
Dante stared at the man across from him. He was the president of Qynland, Mr. Hamilton. He’d figured if he needed to take down his father, he would need someone even more powerful to help him. And Mr. Hamilton was the right person.
The president was in his late sixties, face all red like a tomato with a presence that demanded attention.
"Because eliminating my father reduces your enemies," Dante said confidently. "If my father becomes the president of Solvarra in the next few years, he’ll definitely suspend all resource exports to Qynland, including oil and other essential commodities."
Mr. Hamilton’s lips thinned.
Qynland wasn’t as prosperous as Solvarra, forcing them to make a deal with William in exchange so they could get some natural resources.
Mr. De Rossi had been against this trade alliance since it was announced, and knowing him, it would be the first thing he would put an end to once he became president.
"All I’m asking for is only for a few of your men," Dante said. Dante only had a few trusted men he could count on one hand. The others took orders from their father like a puppet. He needed his own people but recruiting from scratch would take a lot of time. Which was why he’d come to the president of Qynland for help.
Mr. Hamilton sighed, then rubbed his temples in frustration.
Mr. De Rossi had always been a pain in the neck wherever he went.
"How many men do you need?" He asked.
A faint smile pulled on Dante’s lips when he replied.
After half an hour, Dante was ready to leave the president’s office when he suddenly got a notification from his phone, and then more and more came.
After unlocking his phone, the first thing he saw was a headline he didn’t think he would be seeing anytime soon.
The president of Solvarra has been diagnosed with a disease and wouldn’t be able to complete his tenure any longer.
The presidential election that was supposed to happen in a couple of years would occur in four months.
Dante couldn’t believe what he was reading. William had been perfectly well the last time he’d seen him, and now, he was ill.
Dante couldn’t help but think that his father had something to do with the headlines and William’s sudden illness.
Either way, he felt a little bit happy. Instead of waiting for years, all he needed to do was for months. In a few months, he would finally be able to get rid of his father, and hopefully, Eva would find it in her heart to forgive him.
Dante dialed a number. If he was going to take down his father, he wasn’t doing it all by himself.
