Revenge Deal With The Devil-Chapter 40: HOME
Damon stopped midway in shock seeing that Amelia had already made contact with the rock then realization hit him, did he just choose a human over his own mate, that could not be.
But what Damon did not expect is that instead of seeing a bloody scene, Amelia just turned over crashing on the bare floor.
"Are you alright?" Damon asked with a panicked voice immediately rushing over to pick her up avoiding all the spiky rocks and landing on a smoother one laying Amelia on it trying to check if there is any wound on her body.
"I’m fine." Amelia stated simply pushing Damon hands away feeling uncomfortable.
Amelia really felt it was time for her to die this time around but landing in those rocks just now, she felt something block the hit for her, like a force field of some kind, she did not feel any pain neither did any of the rocks pierce her, she was grateful to be alive.
"Are you sure you are alright?" Damon asked in a calm less panicked voice.
"I’m fine." Amelia yelled jerking her hand off of him, if not that she would need wings later to leave this damn place as the rocks were all over, without wings it would be quite impossible to leave there.
"You should not have come here." Damon muttered as he turned Amelia to face him, gripping onto her below tightly.
"Like I had a choice, I was freaking Kidnapped okay." Amelia yelled feeling irritated as she thought back at that lady that looked exactly like her, especially when her eyes had that colour.
"Still you should have resisted." Damon added not convinced.
"Can you even hear yourself clearly, I a mere human should go against whatsoever powerful creature that came to kidnap me." Amelia retorted angrily panting heavily as she glared at Damon.
"What about Leviton? Was he not there?" Damon asked further.
"No he wasn’t, he said something about having a task to complete." Amelia murmured as she still felt anger within her.
"Fine, you should leave then." Damon uttered coldly making Amelia look at him tilting her head with both confusion and anger at the same time.
"And how do you want me to do that with all these sharp rocks around me." Amelia quarreled.
Amelia was angry at Damon as she was ready to fight him but as she glared on at him tears started to roll on her cheeks as he tried to wipe it of turning away from Damon.
"What is wrong with you? I thought you said you were not hurt." Damon asked softening his voice a bit.
"Let me go, I see you have found a replacement for me already." Amelia shrugged indifferently but only her knows how much her heart was hurting inside.
Damon hand which originally wanted to take hold of her shoulders to comfort her paused mid air and gradually, he retreated his hands as they fell beside him.
"To be honest, you are the replacement." Damon said bluntly breaking Amelia heart into pieces, "Now I would advice you to leave this place immediately." Damon voice became colder as he said it with his dark aura leaking out as he tried to oppress Amelia with it.
"I should have known from the very beginning." Amelia remarked raising her head up to look at the clear blue sky as her red hair swayed with movement.
For some time, Amelia eyes remained closed as she tried to compose herself.
"You can take me back now." Amelia stated simply with no emotion on her face.
Her heart felt numb because all she wanted to do at that moment was scream at the top of her voice, she wanted to scream her lungs out but she couldn’t she did not want to show a soft spot to the man that was before her.
"I will, but remember stay away from me after this." Damon said it simply like Amelia did not mean anything to him hurting her the more.
Amelia refused to answer as she just looked on, her brown eyes looking lifeless as they stared into an empty space completely avoiding Damon’s gaze.
Not getting any response from Amelia, Damon scooped her into his arms and flapped his wings as he flew upward.
Amelia made sure not to inhale his seductive scent, it was like a dream to fly as it felt surreal but the overwhelming emotions Amelia had was too much for her to enjoy the moment.
When they reached the top of the cliff, Amelia and Damon saw Ophelia and Duane waiting for someone, obviously Damon because they had believed that Amelia would not survive the fall no matter what.
Seeing the red hair in Damon hands, Ophelia was first shocked then reassured herself within her that maybe, Damon had carried the dead body up here but to her surprise, Damon put the red hair down to the ground helping her too.
Ophelia eyes almost popped out of their sockets seeing someone that she had clearly pushed to death was still alive and breathing.
"Woah, brother you did an Amazing job saving that woman you know, but still forsaking your mate for a mere human is kind of uncalled for." Duane walked closer to Damon whispering but loud enough for Amelia to hear.
Hearing the word mate, Amelia felt her brain short circuit, so he had a mate already, maybe that was why he did not want to come home after the war.
Amelia wondered but there most pressing question on her mind was how and why did the devil come meet her to be his bride when he very much well had a mate, was that not pure jerkiness.
Amelia did not bother to pay attention to all the things they were saying as there was only one thing on her mind and it was to go home.
Amelia could not stand staying there any longer as she felt like a cheap replacement taking a good look at the woman before her, she had a calm look on her face but then Amelia remembered the look on that same face when she was about to be thrown of the cliff.
