She was obviously not very strong-minded, and these kinds of comments on a fake video of hers must’ve had negative effects on her.

Along with the video, there were morphed nude pictures and some dirty memes of her.

"It’s not me," Lisa murmured in Aren’s embrace, her right cheek pressed against his chest. "It’s really not me."

"I know." Aren patted her head gently.

Lisa was a new actress who had never been the center of attention before. She was unfamiliar with the fame, and the downsides of that fame.

Seeing herself being talked about like this by so many people was overwhelming and frightening to her. It was natural for her to be unable to cope with the current situation, given her inexperience and young age.

"It’s Titan Crest Entertainment’s doing." Aren added, "They want to force you to yield to their demands. Even us getting replaced in the drama is thanks to them."

Aren’s voice sounded disgusted and a bit furious.

Lisa, however, was startled by his words, only now realizing that the strange sets of events that happened today were all due to Titan Crest Entertainment.

Now that she thought about it, it was obvious to her.

As soon as she refused Iris, she was first replaced from her drama alongside Aren, and then those fake videos and pictures began to circulate on social media.

All of that couldn’t be a coincidence.

At this moment, Lisa’s phone rang, which she had previously hurled to the corner of the bed.

She reluctantly left Aren’s warm embrace and picked up the call after reading the name on her device’s screen.

It was her father.

As soon as she picked up the call, her father’s solemn and doubtful voice resounded in her ear:

"What’s going on, Lisa? What is this video your aunt is showing to us? Is this really you?"

"No, Dad," Lisa desperately denied, "It’s not me. You know I haven’t even dated anyone in my life."

"Lisa, I know you have been a good child." Her father’s voice cracked. "But I can’t bear to watch you suffering. This is why I didn’t wish for you to become an actress. My fears are coming true."

Aren gave her privacy as he went out of the room.

Actually, seeing those filthy comments might not hurt Lisa as much as these calls from her loved ones would.

Even them asking if it was her in that video was more hurtful than the strangers calling her a whore.

And this was where most actresses broke, not being able to bear the pressure from society, parents, and media. Moreover, Lisa had even lost her role in the drama, and in a few days she would realize that no production would sign her unless she yielded to Iris’s demands.

On the other hand, by agreeing to Titan Crest’s conditions, not only would Lisa get back her role, but she would also escape these filthy accusations, receiving the benefits Iris promised on top.

Who would want to pursue a case in this situation?

After all, even Linda had to quit her job, and if the news wasn’t going to air, Lisa might think it would be better to just yield to Iris and take back her complaint.

Many times, actresses were able to bear the pressure themselves, but when it came to their loved ones suffering due to them, their resolve broke and they yielded.

After all, Lisa’s parents would have to hear taunts from people about their daughter and, on top of that, bear the mocking gazes of society.

If not for herself, then Lisa might yield for her parents.

Nonetheless, Aren had to make her believe in him and not yield.

While Lisa conversed with her parents, Aren went down and got two meals packed for dinner. They hadn’t had dinner yet.

After he returned, Lisa was already done conversing with her parents, and Aren found her weeping on the bed.

’It must be difficult for her to decide what to do on her own,’ Aren thought to himself.

After all, Lisa didn’t want to betray Aren’s kindness, and on the other hand, she didn’t want her parents to suffer because of her.

Aren didn’t say anything to her, solely arranging the meal he had brought on the small dining table in his room.

Lisa, too, didn’t speak, only walking to the dining table and having dinner silently.

She was reminded of their shooting as Leah and Shin in those moments; however, Leah and Shin were more chaotic and lively than they were right now.

After they finished dinner and took a shower, both of them sat beside each other on the bed.

In that silence, Aren turned to her and said with an assuring smile, "Lisa, I need you to trust me." His gaze was confident. "I promise everything will be alright in a few days."

Lisa turned her head and looked at him with a faint smile; however, Aren couldn’t read her thoughts. Whether she believed him or not was unclear.

Thus, he further tried to persuade, "It might appear beneficial to yield to Titan Crest’s offer, but think about what will happen if you do. Sure, you will receive all those benefits Iris Valcourt promised, but what’s the guarantee they won’t hold a grudge?"

"Lucian Valcourt will be released without consequences. Being the son-in-law of the chairman, how long do you think he will stay quiet? Will he not return to a high position in Titan Crest Entertainment? Will he not target more innocent actresses?"

He held her hand between his, looking straight into her hazel-brown eyes as he continued, "It’s obvious that he will. Lucian won’t change; instead, he will grow more brazen. He would know that he would get away scot-free even if he got caught. Think. You, yourself, were about to fall into his trap just yesterday. How were you feeling in those moments? Would you wish for someone else to go through that same experience?"

With a serious gaze, he warned, "If you yield, then you will be responsible for any innocent girl whose life is ruined by Lucian in the future."
