Chapter 666 - Why Are You Seeking Death One By One?

Once slaughter began, it never stopped easily. Blood Vulture Dominator Fist and Golem Cassius were executioners with blood-stained hands. Wherever dark creatures gathered, they launched a massacre without a word. It was a destruction of the entire food chain.

They were the embodiment of destruction, the pure evil of death!

Wherever they passed, the earth cracked and nothing grew. Unspeakable pain tormented the hordes of dark creatures. They formed mountains of corpses and a sea of blood, the piled white bones all twisted into postures of extreme agony. Some dark creatures thrust their claws into their own bellies as if trying to scoop out the insect teeth. Others used both hands to twist off their own heads, ending their unbearable agony early. The remaining curled into balls in pain.

Across the plains, grotesque white-bone trees twisted and deformed. They clawed madly at the sky, embodying pain and despair. All of them raised their heads, gazing forty-five degrees toward the sky where they had seen two red meteors falling, gleaming with seductive luster. However, none would have thought that the red glow brought death...

A phantom stood motionless beside a massive black mountain. The Demonic Blood Tyrant, a powerful Ultimate Dark Form, possessed a killing lust so shocking it was perverse. Its form made it clear. Its joints bristled with blood-red spikes and all six limbs bore sharp serrations meant for killing. It could easily shred a mountain.

It was as large as the mountain beside it, with edges haloed by a dark-red bloody glow, as if it were forever wreathed in a miasma of slaughter. Yet even such a brutal Ultimate Dark Form fell silent when it beheld the bizarre forest of bone corpses before it.

The Southern Dipper Red Falcon Fist's will to kill was unmatched. Even Ultimate Dark Forms that worshiped blood-soaked savagery could not compare. It was a malice toward life, proven by terrifying records and bloody facts.

Back then, Blood Vulture Dominator Fist had slaughtered a quarter of the World of Calamity's races. If not for Totem King Kassares forcibly stalemating him, he could have kept killing. Wiping out half the dark creature clans of the World of Calamity would not have been surprising!

He was a pure pervert who took joy in killing and existed for slaughter. In that ancient era, Blood Vulture Dominator Fist was the grim reaper feared by all dark creatures of the World of Calamity. Later, as he was held in check for endless years, the many beings of the World of Calamity gradually forgot that shivering dread.

But now that he had returned from death, that embodiment of fear had broken free! The entire World of Calamity would remember the fear and despair etched into their genes again. Blood Vulture's hunting cry once more echoed in the skies!

Boom!

A mountain collapsed like porcelain under a giant hand. Debris rained down as a nearby Ultimate Dark Form roared in fury. Its howl resulted in rings of shockwaves through the gray dust, whipping up a violent gale.

"This is provocation! This is Blood Vulture's naked provocation!" The Will of that Ultimate Dark Form quaked as calamity energy surged.

"Once freed, he couldn't wait to unleash his lust to kill even if he's grievously wounded? Aren't you afraid we'll besiege you by leaving traces on purpose?! You're too arrogant, Blood Vulture... Or are you relying on some helper? Heh, it's useless. Your fate is sealed. So many Ultimate Dark Forms have been guided here. You are surrounded! You can only struggle and wail."

The terrifying Wills of many Ultimate Dark Forms collided and spread. Under the dim light, several mountain-sized dark silhouettes stood, their breathing rumbling like thunder. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Blood Vulture, next... We will find you and kill you! Dismember you, grind your bones to dust!"

In the World of Calamity, many dark creature clans existed in the boundary between the Crystal Sand Sea and the Pitch-Black Mountains.

The apex predators of this vast region were a species called vampires. Sometimes, they were also called Blood Race. Compared to other chaotic clans, the Blood Race was brutal and mad. However, if there wasn't a Lightless Night, they were relatively rational and shrewd.

Pack hunting and orderly communication undoubtedly brought huge advantages. They had all but completely dominated the region. Dark creatures were raised inside like it was their personal slaughterhouse.

However, a serious problem had appeared at the Blood Race's slaughterhouse. On the eastern side of the broad boundary, at a place called the Starfall Plain, large numbers of dark creatures died under the blood moon. According to Blood Race watchers, two red meteors had fallen from the clouds, triggering a vast anomaly. The deaths likely had to do with those meteors.

Thus, from the Blood Race's lair, elites set out to investigate. They had long treated the entire boundary as their property and resource. Since their livestock was dying mysteriously, the Blood Race naturally had to investigate.

In the woods, black trees clawed toward the sky in twisted boughs writhing like octopus tentacles in the wind. Some small dark creatures were impaled by the tentacles and drained of their energy. They simply became empty sacks and fell silently.

Whoosh...

Black and red figures darted through the trees at incredible speed, leaving only afterimages. Their bodies were shrouded in mist with corrosive energy, forming hazy giant bat silhouettes. When they passed, the carnivorous black trees drew back their tentacles, not daring to attack. Those slower to move had their extended tentacles brushed by the mist and began rotting.

Ssshh...

The trees contorted and trembled, finally turning into black slurry.

"What exactly is the situation at the Starfall Plain? Have you examined it up close? How heavy are the losses?" The strongest bat shadow sped through the woods while asking.

"E-Elder... N-no... We didn't enter the Starfall Plain to inspect at close range." Two other bat shadows beside him replied hesitantly.

"Hm!? Why didn't you go in and look carefully? This is how you monitor the farm? Hmph! If the Starfall Plain farm is fine this time, so be it. If not, forget your monitor posts. Plenty are eager to apply for such cushy jobs..." The elder scolded harshly.

As they spoke, the party neared the forest's edge and would soon reach the open, boundless Starfall Plain.

"Elder! You can't blame us! Really, it's..." One of the bat shadows protested.

"No quibbling! So many excuses! Negligence is negligence, what argu—"

Swish...

The entire Blood Race party burst from the black woods. As the elder looked up into the distance, his stern words froze and his feet faltered. The inertia carried him two or three steps forward, but his gaze had gone blank.

The Starfall Plain was covered by lakes of blood and hills of white bone! Whether by intent or not, skeletons had been piled together. They were interlocked like blocks of various sizes, forming a colossal skeletal body.

The bones were nearly half a mountain tall and atop its skull, some creature's skeleton spread like a lotus seat in all directions. Scarlet lines on the lotus seat dimmed and brightened as if it was breathing.

A blood-colored figure sat cross-legged on the seat. His lids drooped and a terrifying red glow leaked from his body. With each breath, a stench so bloody it made one wish to die seemed to twist into a tornado. Two-thirds of his long hair had turned a strong crimson, with its eerie hue creeping toward the roots.

Woom...

Blood-colored mist surged skyward like a coiling dragon, dyeing all clouds above the Starfall Plain. The light grew ever dimmer, unable to penetrate through the crimson clouds. It left the flickering lotus seat atop the bone hill as the sole radiance. Its petals were built upon death and despair.

The entire Blood Race party stood dumbstruck.

"W-what... is this!!?"

Terror gripped them as they saw countless dead dark creatures. It was as if they had been forcibly plundered by some being. The air became ropes tightening around their necks, choking breath and robbing speech.

"Retreat!" As the first to recover, the elder shouted. His body trembled with fear but was held up by a fierce will to live. He was also the first to turn, trying to bolt back into the black forest.

However, as he turned, he fell into utter despair. His whole body quivered and he dropped to his knees.

Rumble...

A colossal sound kept reverberating in the sky. A grim, black outline cast a vast shadow, covering the entire mountain. At some point, a Golem had taken its stand behind the mountain from which they'd come.

Its vast body blocked the light, towering like a ten-thousand meter wall. A silver heavy steel palm rested upon the mountain's summit.

A strange sound rolled slowly under the metal mask.

"Hohohoho..."

On the ground by the Starfall Plain, the terrifying Golem seemed not to see the Blood Race below at all. It turned its head to the blood-colored figure atop the bone hill, speaking like muffled thunder.

"Are you ready, Blood Vulture? You have devoured tens of millions of creatures in these days of unending slaughter. You should be nearly recovered. They've been searching for us. At this time, they should be close."

The Golem slowly lowered its right hand from the peak. Gentle as the motion was, its five fingers still ploughed huge cracks in the mountain.

The red figure slowly rose from the lotus seat's center which was a kilometer above ground. His eyes opened, seeming to spit two red lasers in the dim light.

"Close, are they? Heheh, this old man is about ready..."

His gaze swept across hundreds of kilometers, seeing heavy-footed giants around the Starfall Plain. Each dark silhouette represented an Ultimate Dark Form at the peak of the path of calamity. They were tyrants atop the food chain, the pinnacle of the World of Calamity.

They were immortal and unextinguishable, forever standing upon an eternal summit. Now, these tyrants were being guided by some power to besiege and kill two people here!

Even at a distance, terrifying Qi already permeated the space. It was as if an invisible net had formed, invading the Starfall Plain from every angle. Yet upon reaching the plain's edge, they were repulsed by an extremely violent blood-colored aura and rampaging black energy.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Waves of trampling echoed, making mountains tremble. The sky howled as a gale shredded the heavy clouds in an instant. Massive figures cast continent-sized shadows. The Ultimate Dark Forms had come!

At the edge of the woods, the Blood Race stared blankly around them as countless powerful auras soared, bearing the unmistakable mark of Ultimate Dark Forms!

Suddenly, a steel giant foot crushed them to a pulp.

Boom!

The Golem's body left a gigantic footprint. Behind it, an iron cape billowed and black flames burned! Cassius's Will resounded under the steel helm.

"Why do you all insist on seeking death? Isn't living good enough?"

On the bone hill, a blood-colored figure teleported to the highest closest summit. Blood Vulture Dominator Fist's hands were wrapped in scarlet currents, his body faintly shrouded by a Blood Vulture phantom.

"Seems my standoff with the Totem King has left me silent for too long. You've forgotten the fear brought by the vulture's cry. But don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll remember it soon..."

Roar!!!

The behemoths howled, shaking the heavens. Ultimate Dark Forms closed in on them from all sides.

Screee!!!

Blood Vulture's cry echoed out across the plain! Though this time, it wasn't a single call as before. A second raptor answered its call!
