Chapter 472 - Southern Dipper Illusory Moon Fist (2)

Swish!

His hand slashed through the air in a swift semicircle, colliding with a dark creature that resembled a mantis. Though its green mantis limbs were extremely sharp, they couldn't slice through Odo's palm.

Instead, Odo's five fingers snapped shut, and the mantis's tough blade-arms shattered. A strange force invaded the creature's entire body. The human-sized green mantis froze as Odo withdrew his fist. The mantis suddenly shattered like glass, scattering across the ground in finger-sized shards, like a puzzle broken into pieces.

Odo glanced down at the mantis as he walked past, his refined brow knitting slightly. He was still not entirely adept. Theoretically, his hand only needed an instant of contact with the mantis for Fractured Moon Force to reduce it to fragments.

Tap.

He leaped forward, covering seven or eight meters in an instant. Odo's two hands carved a crescent arc through the air, seemingly slicing nothing. Yet, there's a crisp crack from the air, and when the four people walked past, a monster's corpse could be seen decapitated, kneeling on the ground.

"Aah! No!"

Splorch...

Screams sounded incessantly on the path to the cathedral doors, and many bleeding corpses littered the roadside.

Odo and his men pushed inward, with Odo growing ever more skilled at his Illusory Moon Fist.

He realized that the key to this fist technique was nothing but Fractured Moon Force. The illusion aspects of the fist moves and the formidable dynamic vision enhancements merely served to cloak his strikes and let him aim straight for the vital spots. Everything was for channeling Fractured Moon Force effectively.

Understanding this, Odo found it increasingly easy to kill. The best way to master any fist technique was through real combat, especially battles of life-and-death. Killing a single foe could often teach more than sparring with ten!

Moreover, Odo was already strong, so he swiftly adapted to this new fist technique. Odo's comprehension of the technique grew by leaps and bounds just from the plaza to the cathedral doors. His skill became even more profound from the cathedral doors onward.

Cassius also aided Odo's rapid mastery by infusing Qi into him, essentially implanting partial experience and knowledge directly into him. In the heat of battle, that knowledge and experience compounded even faster.

Boom!

A grand metal door shattered into fragments on the spot. Odo strode in impassively, with his bear-like disciple and the mismatched brothers at his back.

There was a dark passage leading downward in one corner of the hall. A pack of dark creatures came howling out of it, roaring at Odo with monstrous faces and fangs.

They charged forward like a pack of wolves.

"Shatter with the moonlight..." A white glow flooded Odo's eyes as he moved both hands, tracing two crescent arcs in the air. A dreamy, hazy moonlight flashed for an instant, then shattered. But more than a dozen dark creatures shattered mid-leap along with that moonlight, flooding the hall with blood!

"No one from the Eclipse Society is coming to block me?" His low, resonant voice echoed in the hall, carrying into the depths below.

After a brief silence in that blood-soaked air...

"Well, if no one's coming, then I'll just start the massacre... heh heh heh..." As Odo laughed in a way that was both elegant yet tinged with a certain madness, the howls of creatures in the passage grew increasingly frantic.

A figure streaked across the air outside the cathedral in the garden square. It was not human, but rather a semi-translucent, ghostlike creature. Its body was black with various bright colours, like a night sky dotted with stars.

It had gemstone-like crescent pupils where its eyes should have been. At the edges of those pupils were densely packed cogwheel-like black specks.

"Kill..." It murmured.

The shouts of battle and screams of pain rose faintly from the distant cathedral. The dark creature's heart thumped heavily as it sensed a disturbance at the branch, anticipating trouble. It could only hope that reality wasn't as dire as it feared.

Whoosh!

A dark shadow zipped skyward, trailed by a hazy moonlight. Moments later, it stopped atop the cathedral beneath the metal cross, surveying the scene from on high.

Its expression darkened, rage flaring in its eyes.

At the south gate, Blood Shark was barely clinging to life, guarded only by two remaining sharks. Moreover, those sharks were all severely damaged.

At the west gate, the high-ranking Blood Race was about to run out of blood. That terrifying old ape was too fierce, pummeling the high-ranking Blood Race into a bloody paste and blowing apart half its body. If not for the Blood Race's regenerative powers and immortality, it would have died long ago.

At the east gate, both sides were exchanging blows evenly, though that stemmed from their respective forms. One was mist, while the other merely a shadow. Their attacks constantly missed, neutralizing much of the damage and making the fight a stalemate.

At the north gate, both forces seem evenly matched in the sense that no top-tier fighters had come forth. It was merely various dark creatures clashing with doctors from the Treatment Ward.

"Damn it, I should have stayed at the branch today!" The Black Moon Clan Leader cursed, letting its dangerous aura flare out as it spread its arms toward the moon.[1]

Just as it was about to harness the moonlight for a terrifying area-wide assault on all enemies below...

Tap.

Suddenly, a slender hand landed on its shoulder.

"Hey, you're blocking my view." A man's low voice spoke from behind with no warning.

The Black Moon Clan Leader whipped around in shock, only to see a large hand descending from above. Overwhelming force sent it plummeting straight down into the cathedral.

Boom, boom, boom, boom...

A series of tremendous impacts followed as the Black Moon Clan Leader smashed through multiple floors, coughing blood all the way down until it finally slammed onto the first floor.

"Cough... cough..." Red blood dribbled from its mouth as it lifted trembling hands, barely managing to stand. "What the hell was that... A human?!"

Its heart pounded violently, almost leaping from its chest. That moment was too terrifying. Someone had appeared without warning at close range, pressed a hand on its head, and grievously wounded it in under a second.

"Huff..." The Black Moon Clan Leader gasped for breath.

"So you finally decided to come out? How did you end up falling from the sky? Doesn't matter. I just need a stone to polish my technique. Though, it's a shame you're hurt. A stone that's already fractured... Heh heh heh... In that case, allow me to completely crush you to dust!" A hoarse voice echoed from a corner reeking of blood.

The Black Moon Clan Leader whipped around.

A tall man blocked the entrance to the dark passage. He was drenched in blood, and held a struggling dark creature in his right hand.

With a crack, the dark creature shattered on the spot like porcelain as the man flashed a blood-soaked grin at the Black Moon Clan Leader.
