Chapter 35 - 35 – The Seraph’s Judgment

---

Location: Tower Floor 67 – Skyfall Crater

A storm raged above the shattered arena, clouds swirling like furious gods. Wind howled. The sky bled silver.

Rael stood in the center of the crater, his cloak fluttering, his aura fluctuating with newfound instability. Echo Rael's memories still surged within him, fragmenting and fusing with his own thoughts. Every breath he took was laced with a hundred lifetimes of regret, fury, and pain.

Selene stood at his side, blade drawn. "Something's coming."

Then it descended.

A spear of golden light pierced the heavens, slamming into the earth before them.

Out of the brilliance stepped a being in radiant armor, wings of starlight spread wide.

A Seraph.

Not a clone.

Not a projection.

A true divine executioner.

> [Enemy Detected: First-Class Seraph – Azrahel] [Danger Rating: SSS+] [Mission: Erase the soul of Rael, former Apostle of Light.]

---

Azrahel's voice thundered without sound. "Rael, son of sin. Echo of rebellion. Your resurrection threatens the cycle. I bring judgment."

Rael narrowed his eyes. "Then let's see if your judgment can survive me."

The Seraph raised a hand.

> [Divine Art: Wrath of the Absolute]

A beam of compressed holy flame erupted.

Rael barely dodged, the blast vaporizing the surrounding mountains. Selene jumped back, eyes wide.

"That's not something we can beat normally."

"I know," Rael muttered. "Which is why I won't be normal."

He slammed his palm into the ground.

> [Shadowheart Core – Memory Link Activated] [Echo Rael Skill Acquired: Heavenbreaker Form – Stage I]

His body shimmered. Shadows wrapped around him like armor. Three halos spun behind his back—twisted reflections of the Seraph's.

Azrahel paused.

"You mock divinity?"

"I am divinity," Rael whispered, "reforged in betrayal."

The two charged.

Blows collided with earthquakes. Time fractured. Selene could barely keep up, watching in awe and horror.

Rael's fist cracked Azrahel's wing. But the Seraph retaliated with a strike that tore through Rael's chest.

Blood spilled.

Rael smiled.

He grabbed Azrahel by the throat and whispered, "Tell your gods... I'm climbing back."

And then—

> [Memory Detonation: Echo #3 – Despair Manifest]

A black flame erupted from Rael's core, consuming both him and the Seraph in a vortex of unbound soul energy.

---

Silence.

When the dust cleared, Rael knelt, body steaming, wings gone.

Azrahel was on one knee, armor cracked.

"...You shouldn't exist," the Seraph breathed.

Rael stood tall. "That's what makes me dangerous."

Azrahel vanished, retreating into the light—defeated, but not dead.

> [Notice: Seraph Retreated] [Divine Status: Observer Level Lifted] [Tower Response: Emergency Protocol Activated]

The tower rumbled.

Selene ran to him. "Rael... are you okay?"

He looked at the stars, then at his trembling hands. "No. But I'm awake now."
