Return Of The Supreme Beast Tamer-Chapter 194: Impossible!
[Six Months Later.]
[Avalon City.]
The colossal Avalon Arena was a masterpiece of shimmering white stone and crystal, its domed roof open to the clear afternoon sky. Inside, the roar of tens of thousands of spectators was a physical force. High above, suspended by intricate anti-gravity technology, a colossal screen pulsed with the logos of five hundred competing teams.
On the main dais, a beacon of energy, stood Bianca Smith. Her voice, amplified and effortlessly vibrant, cut through the din.
"Welcome everyone to the biggest international competition ever!" Bianca, a striking woman whose long, caramel-brown hair seemed to catch every errant beam of light, spun slowly, letting the audience appreciate her gem-encrusted white gown. "I am your host, and I welcome everyone to this wonderful day! I am so happy having you all here!"
In the VIP sections, the air was thick with the scent of fine colognes and the quiet tension of power. Leaders of the three continents; Baltimore, Xavier and Alvin—sat alongside the venerable deans of their top Academies.
The competition's allure wasn't just prestige; it was the rewards—treasures whispered to contain the keys to ascending to the high, near-mythical ranks of the Grand Ascendant and beyond.
"As you all know," Bianca continued, her smile unwavering:
"Only the strongest teams will pass the first brutal stage! This rule applies to everyone who publicly registered! But—not to the winners from the reigning champion academy: Vitality Academy!"
A hush fell, then an expectant murmur.
"The Captain of this team is none other than Christopher Valhalla! The highest scorer of his generation! But... He dropped this team's privilege, saying his team aren't weak to jump this stage, so they'll be participating!!"
In the crowd, the low-level chatter picked up:
"Heard he's unbeatable in Cordelia," a burly man muttered, adjusting his collar.
"Unbeatable is right. Even after the… incident with the undead on Cordelia, he was a massive factor in their victory."
"Undead? That still feels like a story to quiet the masses," a cynical voice cut in. "We all had the beast raids. But zombies? Only Cordelia? It seems conveniently far-fetched."
"And what about the sea battle that happened in Alvin continent? They were nearly wiped out."
"I heard a Grand Ascendant interfered directly. That's why Alvin is still a landmass today."
A thin, dark-haired woman pointed across the arena. "Look there. That's General Headshot, Alvin's premiere female General. She was slated to join this competition, but suddenly backed out."
"Strange. Why would someone of her rank—a Supreme level awakener—withdraw?"
"I don't know," the woman replied, crossing her arms. "But countless teams from Alvin and Baltimore also gave up their spots last week. They must be scared. Scared of someone who is still in this competition."
Bianca's voice pulled their attention back. "The rest of the championship team are known as Advika Evander, a rising star in fire control, then Mariana Vanir, the silent blade, with Mitchell, the team's relentless vanguard! Completing their powerful lineup are Tony and Stella, two formidable fighters!"
"Should I reveal the rewards, everyone?!"
"YESSS!!!" The crowd roared, shaking the very foundation of the arena.
Bianca giggled mischievously. "Fufufu… You all know the rules! I can only reveal the third and second place rewards now! The glorious first place prize remains a secret until the final match!"
She gestured dramatically to the massive screen. "The first match is simple, yet deadly. Our 500 teams will be placed in a Dimensional Zone. They will battle against powerful monsters and, of course, against each other! The last 16 teams with the highest kill points will win a place in the next round!"
The screen dissolved, showing a scroll of team names, Christopher's team, The Golden Dragon, ranked first, sitting untouchably at the top.
"Before the competition starts, let me lay down the rules of engagement!" Bianca's voice grew serious.
The screen shifted, showing a split-feed of five hundred different teams, all standing in various locations within the massive, simulated environment.
__
[The Dimensional Zone.]
The air was stagnant, heavy with the scent of dust and something metallic—like old blood.
Christopher Valhalla lay casually on the back of his massive celestial-stage black horse, Death. His eyes were closed, the picture of serene confidence.
They stood in an open, desolate landscape, filled with nothing but gnarled, dead trees whose branches clawed at a sickly orange sky.
Around him stood his team.
"This is almost insulting," Mitchell cracked his knuckles, the sound like pebbles grinding.
"It's too easy. Not just because we have Christopher, Tony, and Advika—but because we have experience. We survived the beast raid, we survived the undead. This is just a game."
Mariana, her gaze sharp and scanning the horizon, shook her head. "You are wrong, Mitchell. The pressure is different now." Her voice was low and steady.
"Five hundred teams, sixteen spots. That means 484 teams have to be wiped out or fall behind. This is a tough, calculated battle for scarcity."
Christopher finally opened his eyes, a deep, unsettling blue. He sat up slowly on Death's back, a faint, predatory grin spreading across his face.
"Tough?" he chuckled, the sound devoid of humor. "Why do I love the sound of that?"
He raised the simple, red ring on his right hand. He didn't need to yell. His voice, now laced with cold, absolute authority, was a chilling command.
"All of you," he said to the creatures he was about to summon. "Wipe out every single creature from a two-thousand-mile radius, the five commanders should take care of the core zone."
The air around them shrieked.
His teammates froze as countless beams of light—golden, silver, red, green, and black—flew out from the ring. The lights coalesced, forming beasts of staggering size and power. An enormous Sky Stage flaming lion, a trio of menacing Sky Stage Blood Eagles, and, most terrifyingly, five colossal creatures whose auras pulsed with the suffocating energy of the Celestial Stage.
"Ten Sky Stage beasts… and five Celestial stage beasts?!" Tony turned pale, his eyes wide with horror.
Christopher's strength had once again shattered his world view. A few months ago, they'd considered a single Celestial-stage beast an apocalyptic threat. Now, Christopher commanded five, along with ten others.
"Go." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
WHOOSH!
The beasts moved as one. The flyers shot into the orange sky, leaving trails of disrupted life force. The ground-based beasts vanished in blurring streaks of lethal speed, their goal a thousand miles away.
"Just sit back and watch the scoreboard," Christopher said, settling back against Death's mane, the huge, Celestial-stage horse now simply sitting on the ground like a massive statue, unmoving.
DING!
The team's wrist-mounted communication devices chimed instantly.
[+70.] X10
[+20.] X60
[+50.] X5
[+90.] X3
"90 points?!" Advika's eyes widened, her normally composed demeanor cracking with shock.
She was a fire elemental powerhouse, but even she couldn't amass points that quickly.
"Does that mean his Celestial Beasts are already in the core zone?" Mitchell whispered, truly shocked now.
The core zone was meant to be unreachable until the final days, reserved for celestial and Immortal-rank creatures.
DING!
The group's devices screamed a notification:
[+567.]
"It seems a team was just wiped out," Mariana muttered, her lips thin. She hadn't expected the bloodshed to start this quickly. The +567 was the combined points of an entire, vanquished team.
Christopher simply closed his eyes, his breathing calm.
'Let them fight over the scraps. My only objective is to win, not to compete.'
___
[On the Arena.]
"WOW! The Golden Dragon Team is holding first place, with more than two thousand points!" Bianca yelled, the score flashing in gold on the screen.
"This is an absolutely incredible start!"
The VIP sections erupted in gasps and horrified murmurs.
"This is impossible! How can a single tamer control that many high-stage beasts?!" one of the heads of the Alvin continent bellowed, his face slack with mild horror.
"He is only a Captain! He is not supposed to have the firepower of an entire continent's army!" Another added.
"That is my son," Amara declared, a dazzling, proprietary smile lighting her face as Christopher's scoreboard total flashed across the arena's monitor.
Ethan, seated beside her, chuckled warmly and leaned in to kiss her temple. "Our son, dear. Let's not forget the genetics I contributed to that terrifying efficiency."
"Here they go again," Katherine muttered, slumping dramatically in her velvet seat and rolling her eyes skyward.
"Shh... If Mom and Dad hear you," Adonis whispered, nudging his sister with his elbow.
"You will be—"
"—Grounded?" Katherine cut him off, a mischievous glint in her eyes. She straightened up, tapping the large black spider, currently nestled on her shoulder.
"My pet spider just learned a new skill, thanks to Elder Brother's technique guides. I can now teleport to any location I need. No one can ground me."
Adonis scoffed, a genuine smirk crossing his face. "What a naive girl. Did you miss the memo? Sister Leyla now has Mom's power." He leaned in closer, dropping his voice to a conspiratorial hush.
"If Mom truly wants you locked in, Leyla can anchor the entire estate's energy field. You won't be able to leave the property, teleportation or not."
"....??"
Katherine's eyes, fixed on her brother, went wide with dawning horror. Leyla remained impassive, her attention fixed entirely on Christopher's progress on the screen, her expression unreadable.
"You! How do you know that?!" Katherine hissed, turning on Adonis. "Did you spy on them? Did Leyla tell you?"
"I won't tell you a thing," Adonis replied, his smirk widening into a victorious grin.
"You!" Katherine was left speechless, momentarily defeated not by a monster in the zone, but by the complex, layered defenses of her own family.
