Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 202: Pleading is Useless
Qin Shanfeng looked at Qin Yujie, his heart aching. He had never expected Qin Yujie to do such a thing, to even wish for his own grandfather’s death.
But Qin Yujie was right. He was the only male heir of the Qin Family. If he died, the family line would truly end. This left Qin Shanfeng deeply conflicted, unsure of what to do.
Wu Tian had already reached Qin Yujie. As Qin Yujie looked at him, a wave of fear washed over him. He couldn’t believe the mercilessness in those eyes; under Wu Tian’s gaze, it felt as if a giant hand was choking him. He’s a devil. Even before Wu Tian had done anything, Qin Yujie’s hair stood on end. He was drenched in a cold sweat and struggled to breathe. Terror... Such terror. I deeply regret offending such a person. Why did I even try to compete with Wu Tian?
"Son-in-law, can you spare him just this once? For my sake, please, let him go," Qin Shanfeng pleaded to the frost-faced Wu Tian. He knew Qin Yujie must have done something outrageous, but this was still his grandson, the only one who could carry on the Qin family name.
When Qin Yujie was in elementary school, he had always been with Qin Shanfeng, because back then Qin Zhengxin was fulfilling Ye Lan’s wish to travel the world. Remembering the days they had spent together, the old man begged Wu Tian to give his grandson a chance to start over.
"Yes," Qin Zhengyang added, unable to bear it. "Son-in-law, no matter what, he’s still my nephew and Yuhan’s cousin. Regardless of his faults, as family, we should give him a chance to reform."
"You don’t understand me, nor do you know what he tried to do," Wu Tian stated coolly, his words causing the expressions of Qin Shanfeng and the others to shift. They had a terrible premonition. Sure enough, Wu Tian continued, his every word ringing with cold, ruthless resolve, "When I decide to kill someone, not even Heaven can stop me. What makes you think a mere person can?"
As his cold voice fell, the air in the room seemed to drop a few more degrees. Wu Tian’s steps were ethereal as he walked past Qin Yujie.
Qin Yujie must die! Those who gave me life are untouchable. Those to whom I gave life are untouchable. Anyone else is fair game! To think that Qin Yujie was this kind of person, yet he still desired Qin Yuhan? They’re cousins! Not to mention, the little one is terrified of him, which means he must have bullied her! For those two reasons alone, he has to die!
"Ah!"
No one saw Wu Tian move. Just as Qin Shanfeng breathed a sigh of relief, gashes simultaneously tore open on Qin Yujie’s neck, hands, and feet. SPLURT! Blood sprayed from the wounds.
Qin Yujie’s face grew deathly pale. His eyes, filled with terror, slowly turned dim and lifeless. He struggled to utter his last words, "You... you’re not human!"
With that, Qin Yujie was dead.
Embedded in the wall, Ye Lan had watched the entire scene unfold. Her body began to tremble so violently that she came loose and tumbled to the floor. She started to crawl, determined to escape this place, her face as white as paper and her teeth chattering from absolute terror. Crawl! she thought, gritting her teeth. But her body, shaking uncontrollably, made her progress agonizingly slow. All she could do was hope that Wu Tian would somehow forget she was there. Ye Lan’s regret was even deeper than Qin Yujie’s. Had she known how formidable Wu Tian was, she never would have dared to speak to him that way. What was this if not courting death?
"Where do you think you’re going?"
Wu Tian had already appeared directly in her path.
"I..." Staring at the delicate, seemingly harmless young man before her, Ye Lan was petrified.
In her heart, Wu Tian was the Death God, a devil. Her legs had given out and she couldn’t stand, but she continued to try and crawl away.
Seeing this, Wu Tian smiled. "For a woman like you, what you want most can be summed up in one word: novelty. Fine. I’ll give you all the novelty you can handle."
With that, Wu Tian eerily snapped his fingers.
Ye Lan’s eyes immediately went vacant as her mind plunged into the Illusion Realm. She saw a tiger approaching—a male, its eyes burning with heat.
"No, don’t... Ah!"
In reality, Ye Lan let out a miserable shriek. Qin Shanfeng and the others had no idea what was happening to her. How could this be?
After the tiger, Ye Lan, still in the illusion, saw a charging bull thundering toward her.
"No, I don’t want this anymore!"
But the bull still charged, slamming into her violently.
"Ah! I was wrong! I don’t want this! I’ll never want it again!"
In reality, Ye Lan’s cries were tragic beyond compare. Qin Shanfeng and the others could only watch, dumbfounded.
Within the Illusion Realm, Ye Lan then saw countless alligators, all moving toward her greedily, their hideous, gaping maws dripping with putrid saliva.
In reality...
"AHHH!"
Her scream was even more desolate.
Qin Shanfeng and Qin Zhengyang stared at Wu Tian’s back, utterly frozen. To make an enemy of Wu Tian was to make an enemy of a Ghost God. There was no chance of a good ending.
Ye Lan, trapped in the Illusion Realm, began to shake continuously as the faint smell of urine filled the air. She would be trapped there for the rest of her life.
"It’s time to end this," Wu Tian said, waving his hand.
Instantly, a Blood Mist filled the entire villa. When it dissipated, the blood and bodies had vanished. Aside from the damage to the room, there was no sign anything unusual had happened.
Qin Shanfeng sighed, the old man suddenly seeming far more ancient.
"I can’t manage the affairs of this family anymore... I just can’t..."
Repeating this phrase, he left the villa, taking the delusional Qin Zhengxin and the catatonic Ye Lan with him. His steps were slow, his spirit clearly broken.
Qin Zhengyang looked at Wu Tian, Qin Yuhan, and the little one, at a loss for words. Should he blame Wu Tian? From a moral standpoint, he couldn’t say Wu Tian was wrong.
"You should all go rest," Qin Zhengyang said weakly. "I’ll have someone take care of the house tomorrow. Just go rest."
"Grandpa, are you unhappy?"
Wu Tian remained impassive. He wouldn’t soften his words for anyone but his daughter. Qin Yuhan, though cold and decisive in business, was at a loss when it came to family matters.
At this critical juncture, it was the little one who bravely broke free from Qin Yuhan’s embrace and ran toward Qin Zhengyang.
"Careful, careful!" Seeing the little one running so eagerly, Qin Zhengyang grew worried. He quickly crouched down to steady her.
The little one giggled. "Grandpa, I thought you didn’t like me anymore."
"No, no, no! How could Grandpa not love his precious little angel?" Qin Zhengyang cherished the little one more than anything.
"Good. If you love me, then take me to see the animals." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"So late?" Qin Zhengyang was surprised but considered it. "No problem. I’m on good terms with the zoo director. You can go whenever you want. If that old friend of mine refuses, then Grandpa will just have to end our friendship."
"You mean, ’friendship over’," the little one said in her sweet, childish voice.
"Yes, yes, exactly. ’Friendship over’," Qin Zhengyang nodded. In front of the little one, he tried to sound more childish himself. Why? Because he too was afraid his lovely granddaughter might stop liking him.
"Grandpa, it’s really late, and it’s not safe outside. Let’s just watch ’Animal World’ instead."
"Alright!" Qin Zhengyang nodded and went to watch "Animal World" with the little one.
"It seems my daughter is the impressive one," Qin Yuhan said, her voice filled with pride.
"And where would you get a daughter without me?" Wu Tian countered with a slight smile, refusing to yield an inch.
