Chapter 187: Chapter 187: The Little Guy’s Weapon

"No." The Servant shook his head. His eclectic general store was good, but it certainly didn’t have a Ruyi Jingu Bang. Unless, perhaps, the child was asking for a toy? "Excuse me, young customer, if you’re looking for a toy, you can..."

"Hehe, and here I thought you had something incredible. You don’t even have a Jingu Bang, yet you dare claim you have whatever I want?" The little girl huffed, pouting with disdain.

"If the young customer is looking for a weapon, perhaps you could choose another? We definitely have others here," the Servant said, sweat beading on his forehead. I think I’ve just met the most difficult customer of my entire career.

Normally, people who came here weren’t this young. The Servant glanced at Wu Tian, feeling helpless. What kind of person is this? Bringing such a small child to my shop! Did I wrong him in a past life or something?

"Fine, I’ll choose something more common," the little girl said, her small face turning serious.

"Good, good, good! Our shop will definitely have it," the Servant said with a relieved smile. If it was common, his shop would have it.

"I want Lu Bu’s Sky-Piercing Halberd," the little girl announced.

The Servant nodded confidently. "The Sky-Piercing Halberd, is it? Of course, we have it. May I ask which dynasty it’s from or which famous artisan made it? Our shop has them all."

"Didn’t you hear me? I want Lu Bu’s Sky-Piercing Halberd. The one he held in his hands, of course," the little girl said, growing annoyed. She suspected this grandpa might be deaf. She had already specified it was Lu Bu’s.

The Servant’s face fell, certain the little girl was just toying with him.

"We don’t have that kind of thing," the Servant said through clenched teeth.

"Sigh, what a letdown. You’ve really disappointed me." The little girl shrugged and shook her head with a look of profound disappointment.

The Servant felt that if he continued this conversation, he’d die from anger. He worked here for a quiet life, to cultivate his mind and body. After so many years of nurturing his composure, he felt this one encounter could undo it all in a single day.

Wu Tian, Lin Zhan, and Mouse Tooth all noticed this.

Lin Zhan stepped forward to ease the tension, laughing as he said, "Well, I’m looking for a weapon, too. Could I get a Tang-dynasty sword, please?"

"Of course." The Servant nodded, thinking to himself, Finally, a normal customer.

The Servant led Lin Zhan to look at the Tang swords. The little girl, however, was not pleased. If no one would help her, she’d find it herself. With that, she immediately started searching everywhere.

Wu Tian and Mouse Tooth followed behind her.

"Mr. Wu Tian, with your skills, you must be an expert at appraising treasures, right? Why not lend the little one a hand?" Mouse Tooth said, trying to flatter him.

Wu Tian shook his head. "This is her path. Let her choose for herself."

The little girl searched earnestly, but after failing to see what she wanted on the shelves, she shook her head in defeat.

"Is what I want really so hard to find?"

"I don’t believe it!"

She huffed, and with renewed persistence, she began searching again.

As her gaze swept the room, it was suddenly caught by something in a corner. Her adorable, wide eyes stopped looking at the other merchandise as she scurried over. Wu Tian and Mouse Tooth followed.

The little girl finally came upon an object just a little shorter than herself and began to examine it carefully. A large stone was weighing down its lid, and a faint smell of pickled cabbage emanated from within. Clearly, it was a jar used for pickling.

It was jet-black, seemingly made of iron, and its shape was stranger than that of an ordinary jar. Its surface was adorned with totems of fierce beasts.

Seeing it, Wu Tian couldn’t help but remark, "This is forged from Black Profound Iron. To think that Xuan Iron, the very thing swordsmiths crave, would be used not for a sword, but for a jar."

"I like it, I like it!" the little girl laughed as she gazed at the jar. "This is the weapon I want! If anyone dares to fight me, I’ll just smash them with it."

Hearing this, Wu Tian couldn’t help but smile. Indeed, the jar was made entirely of Xuan Iron. If struck against an ordinary weapon, the weapon would shatter. Getting hit by a jar this hard would certainly be lethal.

Just then, Lin Zhan, having purchased his Tang sword, returned with the Servant. When he saw the jar the little girl had chosen, Lin Zhan was stunned. He had always known the kid thought differently, but he never expected this.

The Servant had an even stranger expression. "This isn’t merchandise. It’s just a jar I found in the mountains when I was young. I usually use it for pickling vegetables or brewing wine. If you like it, you can just take it."

In the Servant’s eyes, the item was worthless.

The little girl immediately hugged the large jar and smiled. "Grandpa, you’re so nice! Thank you!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

After speaking, she even gave a polite bow.

The Servant was taken aback. A moment ago, he had found the girl cute but a little terrifying; now, seeing how well-mannered she was, he couldn’t help but smile.

Lin Zhan had already paid for his Tang sword. Wu Tian then inquired about Wu Cheng’en.

The Servant sighed. "Ah, him. He and I are from the same place. Every ten years, people emerge from there. It’s now the twenty-year mark, so over the next few days, people will be coming out one after another. When they do, you’ll be able to find who you’re looking for and get the answers you seek." The Servant hadn’t known who Wu Tian and his companions were at first, but when Wu Tian asked about Wu Cheng’en, he realized Wu Tian must be the person Wu Cheng’en had mentioned before he left—that man’s son.

Having gotten his answer, Wu Tian was pulled away by the impatient little girl, who was in a great hurry to leave.

"What’s wrong?" Wu Tian asked.

"This thing is a treasure! He said he’d give it to me for free, but what if he realizes it’s valuable and changes his mind? We have to leave quickly, of course!" the little girl said with a crafty grin.

Wu Tian, Lin Zhan, and Mouse Tooth: "..."

This was Wu Tian’s last day in Longjing. Having gotten the information he sought, he was ready to return to Yang City. For their final night, Wu Tian, the little one, and Lin Zhan all stayed at Mouse Tooth’s home.

Mouse Tooth’s original home had been small and poor. To improve his lot in life, he and Yao Sijiu had both joined the army. After leaving the military, they fell into a destitute life and started tomb raiding, which was how they made their fortune.

Mouse Tooth’s home was now a villa in the suburbs of Longjing. The air was fresh and the surroundings were beautiful, but there were no neighbors around. Mouse Tooth explained that Yao Sijiu had helped him pick this plot of land. Yao Sijiu claimed that while it was currently deserted, it would one day be filled with high-rises. He reasoned that as long as real estate developers existed, more and more houses would be built, prices would climb, and this plot of land would eventually be highly coveted.

In the small courtyard of Mouse Tooth’s villa, the little girl lifted the large jar in a move she called "Overlord Lifting a Cauldron."

Her strength left Mouse Tooth and Lin Zhan in awe. Xuan Iron was much heavier than ordinary iron, and even the two of them together couldn’t lift the jar.

But lifting the jar wasn’t enough for the little one, so she ran over to find Mouse Tooth. "Tell me, are there any Taekwondo or Karate dojos nearby?"

"Why are you asking?" Mouse Tooth suddenly had a very bad feeling.
