Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 171: Arrogance
The Divine Sword Country was a nation easily overlooked. Michelangelo, however, now commanded attention. His fangs were sharp, and the aura around him had suddenly soared to an immense new height. His current image was that of a vampire.
Everyone was stunned. Everyone knew the legends of vampires, but no one had expected to actually encounter one.
Could it be makeup? Or a magic trick? Hua Shengting, the other foreigners, and Zhao Zetian suddenly had the same thought.
Michelangelo chuckled and leaped, heading straight for the Ex-Mount Lifter. The man crouched down in terror, so a subordinate behind him was caught instead. Michelangelo grabbed him, targeted his neck, and bit down ferociously.
"Ah!"
The subordinate instantly deflated like a punctured ball. His body went limp, and he collapsed to the ground.
Dead!
The crowd’s expressions changed drastically. They didn’t want to believe they were truly facing a vampire. They were all proud people; the foreigners had the pride of their lineage, while the Ex-Mount Lifter and the others had their own arrogance. But in the face of a vampire, they felt utterly powerless.
Even Wu Tian had never expected vampires to truly exist. If he were still the ordinary Wu Tian of the past, he would have thought the world was just as it seemed. How could he have ever known about the existence of the Martial Arts World? But now that he had power, Wu Tian had seen the Jianghu and sects of the Martial Arts World, the Five Surnames and Seven Families, and now, this vampire.
This city is truly marvelous.
Michelangelo hailed from the Divine Sword Country, the so-called "Italia." The existence of vampires there was certainly possible.
After feeding, Michelangelo elegantly wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. He walked into the middle of the crowd, glanced at Hua Shengting’s group, then at Zhao Zetian, Wu Tian, and the others, and spoke indifferently. "Although I am from the Divine Sword Country, I am actually from the Blood Clan. You are all the same to me; I won’t be biased. Now, I have a few things to say, and you had better listen carefully.
"When we enter the tomb, I want only one thing. That is to say, that object is mine. You are not to touch it. Anyone who touches it dies.
"Besides that one treasure, everything else—gold, silver, jewels, whatever—is yours to have. You can fight over it for all I care.
"I hope you understand me. If you don’t," he chuckled, "the corpse at my feet is your example."
After speaking, his purple tongue snaked out to lick his lips, as if he truly savored the taste of blood.
Zhao Zetian and her group shuddered.
Lin Zhan and Mouse Tooth retreated behind Wu Tian, feeling safe only there.
Wu Tian held the little one, his face calm, while the little one’s eyes widened as she studied Michelangelo.
In her eyes, Michelangelo wasn’t terrifying but adorable.
I really want to make him my pet. If he doesn’t obey, I’ll beat him. If he’s still disobedient, I’ll beat him again.
However, when she noticed Michelangelo’s tongue, the little one spat. "Pah!" How repulsive. I’m giving up on this pet.
Zhao Mulan held the Green Light Sword. She could potentially deal with a vampire, but she had no confidence she could win. After all, she had never actually fought one.
Wu Tian, however, knew that if Zhao Mulan truly steeled herself, she could kill this vampire. But alas, Zhao Mulan lacked confidence and was already intimidated by Michelangelo.
The foreigners had pistols, but they also knew that guns were likely ineffective against vampires. They began whispering among themselves, planning an escape route.
Zhao Zetian felt the same way. She turned to look at the Ex-Mount Lifter’s men and Wu Tian’s group.
"Originally, I had hoped to enter and obtain that treasure, but now, it seems there is no hope at all.
"I’ve decided to give up on the treasure. If we can leave here safely, it will be a stroke of great fortune amid our misfortune."
Upon hearing Zhao Zetian’s words, the Mount Mover Taoist, the Ex-Mount Lifter, and the Faqiu Commander’s faces turned bitter, but they nodded nonetheless. Who could they blame for their lot? They were just a Lifter, a Taoist, and a Commander from the world of Tomb Raiding. If only the words "Mount Mover," "Faqiu," and "Ex-Mount" in their titles could be replaced with "Maoshan," then they would have no fear of any vampire.
"We understand."
"Yes, we don’t want anything. We just want to get out of here safely."
"Mhm."
Michelangelo glanced at Hua Shengting’s group, then at Zhao Zetian’s, finally asking, "Have you come to a decision?"
"Yes," Hua Shengting nodded, speaking gently. "As long as you let us leave, that’s all we ask. We don’t want anything else."
"We feel the same way," Zhao Zetian quickly added.
"Good."
Michelangelo, though a vampire, was an elegant gentleman when his fangs weren’t bared, possessing a charm that could make most men jealous.
"Now, we enter the tomb."
Under Michelangelo’s leadership, the group entered the tomb. The entrance was the tombstone itself; moving it aside revealed a passage below.
The corridor within was short, and they soon saw a stone chamber that was as chaotic as a garbage heap. In the center was a stone coffin, upon which was a line of characters written in small seal script.
The script meant nothing to Michelangelo and the other foreigners. But when Zhao Zetian and the other people of Dragon Country saw it, their expressions turned strange. Wu Tian’s did as well.
The line read: "If Guo Jia does not die, Zhuge does not emerge."
"Oh, so it is the tomb of Guo Jia," Michelangelo chuckled. "Even I, a man of the Divine Sword Country, have heard of this wise man. Now you, go and open it."
He pointed toward the woman with the triangular eyes, who was the Faqiu Commander.
Being singled out by the vampire, the Faqiu Commander’s legs trembled, but she dared not disobey. She stepped forward to open the lid of the stone coffin. Others might have found opening this stone coffin difficult, but it posed no challenge to the Faqiu Commander. Her slender fingers moved across the stone coffin for a moment, and she finally pried the lid open.
However, something leaped out from within the coffin. Before the Faqiu Commander could react, she was bitten. The triangular-eyed woman’s entire head was bitten off.
Blood splattered everywhere, a chilling sight.
"Ah!"
"What is that?"
"A monster?"
Zhao Zetian and her people panicked. Only Wu Tian remained calm, the little one looked on with curiosity, and Michelangelo looked on with confusion. Aside from those three, everyone else was terrified.
The creature landed on the ground.
CRUNCH, CRUNCH...
It began chewing on the Faqiu Commander’s head, making the sickening sound of bones being crushed.
