Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 141 Military
No one expected a new Sacred Land to appear in the South. In anyone’s eyes, a so-called Sacred Land was nothing more than a natural formation.
Take the Mount Tai Holy Land, for instance. The ancients regarded Mount Tai as a Divine Mountain, a "direct path to the Emperor’s throne," where the common people worshiped and Emperors held sacrifices. There was a saying: "When Mount Tai is stable, all under heaven is stable." From the time of Qin Shi Huang to the Qing Dynasty, thirteen successive Emperors personally ascended Mount Tai to perform the Fengshan Sacrifices or other rituals. Furthermore, another twenty-four Emperors dispatched officials to conduct sacrifices there a total of seventy-two times. This process gathered a dense concentration of imperial aura. That Sacred Land belonged to the nation’s leader.
Zhou Weimou had been fortunate enough to visit once. At the summit of Mount Tai, just by taking a single breath, he felt as if his body had grown younger and significantly lighter. Cultivating Imperial Martial Arts on Mount Tai would be twice as effective; that was an indisputable fact.
One could say a Sacred Land was a work of nature, its power accumulated through the ages. But now, another one had suddenly appeared.
How did this new Sacred Land come into being? Zhou Weimou couldn’t make sense of it.
But he knew the first thing he had to do was disperse the crowd. Soon, Zhou Weimou sealed off the area, barring any unauthorized personnel from entering. The onlookers were stopped from entering, much to their disappointment. Many were adventure-seekers who had hoped to discover what wonders the forest held, but alas, they would not get the chance. They had arrived full of excitement, only to leave in dejection.
Wu Tian also arrived at Baiyun Mountain. Besides sensing it with his Spiritual Sense, he wanted to personally see the effect of the Sacred Land he had created.
"Papa... Papa..." As Qin Yuhan descended the mountain with the baby, the little one noticed Wu Tian at once and called out happily.
"My treasure, are you happy?" Wu Tian asked, walking over.
Qin Yuhan and their little one were Wu Tian’s reverse scale. A dragon has a reverse scale. Touch it, and you die.
"Happy, happy!" the little one clapped his hands, joyfully wiggling his little bottom in Qin Yuhan’s arms.
"As long as you’re happy, my efforts weren’t in vain," Wu Tian said as he drew near.
A passerby who overheard Wu Tian’s comment couldn’t help but sneer, "What did you just say? You’re implying the ’Hundreds of Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix’ has something to do with you? Buddy, a man has to know his own limits. You..."
"Get lost!"
Wu Tian couldn’t be bothered to speak with such an ignorant mortal. He sent the man tumbling down the mountain with a single kick. Whether he lived or died was no longer Wu Tian’s concern.
It wasn’t that Wu Tian was too ruthless. Rather, a glance at the man’s features told Wu Tian that he had enjoyed spouting nonsense in front of others since he was young. He had once separated a happy couple with his words; the man, unable to forget his love, became a drunkard, while the woman married the wrong man and was filled with regret. This person had also once insulted an honest classmate, driving that student to commit suicide by jumping from a building.
A kind word can warm three winter months, while a harsh one can wound even in the summer’s heat.
Yet this man showed no signs of repentance. Indeed, his tongue had caused numerous tragedies.
The other passersby were stunned. They felt fortunate they hadn’t been as loose-tongued as that man. A fall from the mountain path would surely have been fatal.
"Wu Tian, Zhou Weimou is here too! You can’t be so reckless," Qin Yuhan said anxiously.
"Zhou Weimou?" Wu Tian replied. "Don’t worry. He won’t dare to do anything to me."
Hearing Wu Tian’s overbearing words, Qin Yuhan felt conflicted. Wu Tian was certainly powerful now and had connections to Xiao Liang and Xiao Tianzan. But Zhou Weimou was different; he wasn’t the type to show deference to anyone. Still, with onlookers present, she couldn’t undermine Wu Tian’s confidence in public, as his wife. She decided she would have to have a serious talk with him when they got home.
For now, Qin Yuhan smiled and said, "Did you come to pick me and the baby up? Let’s hurry back then. The military has already surrounded the site of the miraculous phenomenon, so no one else can get in to see it."
But Wu Tian just smiled. "You and the baby go back first," he said, patting Qin Yuhan’s shoulder and infusing a stream of Spiritual Power into her body. With this Spiritual Power protecting her, she would be safe on her way home, no matter what happened.
Seeing that Wu Tian was determined to stay, Qin Yuhan simply reminded him not to get into a conflict with the military before leaving with the baby.
Wu Tian, in turn, smiled and headed toward the Sacred Land.
His pace was unhurried, as if he were on a leisurely stroll. As he walked, a peculiar aura radiated from him. Every passerby who brushed past him immediately forgot what he looked like. Some soldiers tried to stop him, but with a single motion, Wu Tian vanished. By the time they looked again, he was already inside the forest.
The soldiers were shocked. A newborn calf truly doesn’t fear the tiger, they thought amongst themselves. Let him learn a hard lesson. When he gets blasted out of there, we’ll just have to make sure he gets to a hospital. He shouldn’t think he can just waltz in here because he has a few tricks up his sleeve.
