Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 113 Embarrassment and Anger
Qin Yuhan was mortified and furious as she scrambled out of bed. She knew Murong Yezi and the little one downstairs must have heard the noises she’d been making, and the thought made her burn with shame. She really wanted to find a crack in the ground to crawl into, but unfortunately, there was none.
All she could do was glare at Wu Tian through gritted teeth. "This is all your fault."
Wu Tian chuckled. "And what, may I ask, is my fault?"
Qin Yuhan’s face flushed crimson. What was his fault? Didn’t he know perfectly well? How dare he ask?
Seeing her conflicted expression and how she was too embarrassed to speak, Wu Tian laughed even harder. "So, you do have feelings for me, don’t you?"
"No! I’m warning you, you can’t treat me like this ever again. If you do..." Qin Yuhan raised a small fist, trying to threaten him.
"If I do, what?" Wu Tian feigned ignorance.
"If you do, then don’t even think about getting... getting into my bed again!" Qin Yuhan finally managed to say through gritted teeth.
Wu Tian laughed heartily. He could tell she was gradually opening her heart to him, and he felt fantastic.
He got out of bed and said, "You’re fine now. We should go downstairs for dinner."
"Mhm," Qin Yuhan mumbled, her face still red.
She followed Wu Tian downstairs to eat.
At the dining table, Murong Yezi ladled soup for Qin Yuhan. The moment she finished one bowl, Murong Yezi immediately filled it again.
"Mom, I can’t drink any more," Qin Yuhan pleaded.
"You have to," Murong Yezi said with concern. "This soup is good for you. Besides, you young people need to learn some restraint. You should understand that you can’t just act recklessly in certain situations. It’s a bad influence on the child."
"Mom, you’ve misunderstood!" Qin Yuhan blurted out, blushing profusely.
「The next day, everything was as usual.」
However, Wu Tian noticed that when Qin Yuhan looked at him, there was a new tenderness in her beautiful eyes.
「At the corporation,」
Lin Fa immediately found Wu Tian and said excitedly, "Boss, thank you! Thanks to your guidance these past few days, I feel like I’ve improved immensely. Of all the questions on those business tests, I think there are only one or two that could stump me now."
To have achieved his current level of ability was something Lin Fa had once never even dared to dream of.
"Don’t thank me. This is the result of your own hard work," Wu Tian said with a smile.
To Wu Tian, Lin Fa’s progress was only natural. First, fortune favors the diligent. Second, when Wu Tian had been instructing him, he had secretly infused his words with Spiritual Power, helping Lin Fa commit everything to memory.
「At noon, everyone took a break and headed to the cafeteria,」 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Qin Yuhan had an announcement to make.
"There are no fixed answers to any business problem," she announced. "I’m now distributing the answer key that senior finance experts generally agree upon. You can see how your answers compare."
After the answer keys were handed out, whispers filled the room. Some people were pleased, others were dismayed.
Qin Yuhan’s gaze discreetly found Wu Tian. She noticed that after he got his copy, he only gave it a cursory glance before setting it aside and focusing on his meal.
What a glutton, she snorted inwardly.
Liang Qingren, having trained in martial arts, had sharper eyesight than most. After a quick scan of the answer key, she saw that out of a hundred questions, only about sixty percent of her answers were similar. She frowned slightly.
"This mock test was way too hard, wasn’t it?"
"Yeah, my answers were only ten percent close to the official ones!"
"God, I should just stick to my job and forget about any delusions of grandeur. None of my answers match the key at all."
Nearly everyone seemed dejected. The exceptions were Lin Fa and Ren Hou.
Ren Hou, a finance major from Cambridge University, found that his answers had a seventy percent similarity to the answer key. Lin Fa, meanwhile, was delighted that his similarity rate was sixty percent.
Ren Zhong approached his son, Ren Hou. "How did it go?"
"I’m very satisfied," Ren Hou replied with a smile.
Ren Zhong nodded, his happiness growing with his son’s success. The father-son pair then glanced disdainfully in Wu Tian’s direction. To them, Wu Tian was no competition at all; his talent was nothing compared to theirs.
Qin Yuhan also ordered a meal. Pretending to be casual, she and Li Muge sat down across from Wu Tian.
"How did you do?" Qin Yuhan asked as soon as she was seated.
"Your answer key is only eighty percent the same as mine," Wu Tian stated. "For the other twenty percent, your ’standard answers’ are inferior to my answers."
What?
Upon hearing this, Liang Qingren and Lin Fa, who were sitting next to Wu Tian, as well as Qin Yuhan and Li Muge across from them, were all stunned.
Qin Yuhan let out a snort. There were two tests. He turned the first one in early and slept through half of the second one. Could he really have done well?
"Believe me, mine are one hundred percent correct," Wu Tian said, ignoring the others. His gaze was fixed solely on Qin Yuhan.
Under his sincere and fiery stare, she couldn’t help but respond with a timid "Mm."
Lin Fa, Liang Qingren, and Li Muge were even more dumbfounded. There’s something going on here! They must have some kind of secret relationship!
"Heh, impossible." Ren Zhong and Ren Hou, who were eating nearby, happened to overhear Wu Tian and both shook their heads.
Ren Zhong raised his voice, loud enough for the entire cafeteria to hear. "Son, did you hear someone bragging just now?"
Ren Hou, understanding his father’s intent, played along just as loudly. "I heard! Someone actually claimed their answers were one hundred percent correct!"
"Do you believe that?" Ren Zhong asked.
"No!"
"Exactly! How could anyone believe that?" Ren Zhong chuckled. "If that’s true, I’ll go bang my head against a wall."
"And I’ll go jump in a river!" Ren Hou added.
Wu Tian’s expression remained calm, as if he hadn’t heard dogs barking, but inwardly he was cold. One wants to hit a wall? The other wants to jump into a river? Fine. I’ll grant you your wishes.
「In the afternoon, everyone returned to their work.」
A senior finance expert, having finished grading the business simulation tests, came to see Qin Yuhan.
His name was Tang Bogo. Once a business prodigy in Longjing, he had graduated from college at twenty and built his first company from scratch within five years. Forty years later, that company was a Fortune 500 enterprise. At the age of seventy, however, he had abruptly retired and returned to Yang City to live out his days. Because his granddaughter knew Qin Yuhan from school, he had agreed to help the other seniors create the test.
Upon his arrival, he said, "Dear niece, the talent in your corporation isn’t bad. I’d say they’re above average. Here are the tests, take a look for yourself."
Qin Yuhan nodded. She was most eager to see Wu Tian’s results, curious if there was any truth to his bold claims.
She found Wu Tian’s two test papers and glanced at them. The first test had a perfect score. Qin Yuhan looked over Wu Tian’s answers; his approach was unconventional, but his reasoning was sound. When she looked at the second test, however, it was marked with a zero.
This made Qin Yuhan furrow her brow.
