Return of The Alpha Heiress-Chapter 19: Clarissa – Accusation
I was furious, but I couldn’t make any sound except pained whimpers.
"Don’t you dare use anything Larry gave you," Lisse barked.
I no longer cared about her threats, my whole body hurt too much to think about anything else.
I didn’t know how long they kept hitting me.
When they finally had enough, they threw me into one of the trash pits.
Dark. Filthy. Painful.
Did I really deserve all of this?
Luna Eileen, Larry, Edwin, Shannon—where were they? Wouldn’t Luna Eileen be worried if she couldn’t reach me?
Nadia’s father was always like that. Whenever Nadia couldn’t be contacted, he immediately called the school to check on her.
A family is supposed to be like that, right? Worried when there’s no news.
Was I really part of their family? Were their warm words and affection just a momentary feeling?
Was everything so easy to forget simply because I wasn’t the daughter who grew up with them?
Unknowingly, tears streamed down my face.
When Fina and her cronies hit me earlier, I didn’t cry. But thinking about that family, this pain became unbearable.
I cried for who knows how long, until the school guard doing night rounds came and found me.
Walking down the dark dorm hallway alone, I took out the necklace Edwin had given me from inside my uniform. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Thankfully, it wasn’t damaged. It seemed Edwin used an expensive crystal to protect the device inside.
When I finally got back to my room, Nadia gasped.
"Did someone come looking for me?" I asked, giving no explanation.
Even after hours of crying over that family, I still kept a tiny piece of hope for them, buried deep in my heart.
But when Nadia shook her head, something sharp and painful stabbed through my chest again.
I was such a fool. I already knew no one truly cared—yet I still hoped.
That night, I cleaned myself up and treated my wounds.
With or without the Green family’s help, I would never let Fina or Alisse Green get away with this.
...
The next morning, before class started, I didn’t go to my classroom. I headed straight to the teachers’ office.
My face, head, arms, and legs were wrapped in bandages.
I limped through the hallway, and the bruises not covered by bandages made some students flinch in horror as I passed.
If just looking at me scared them this much, what about me—who actually went through it?
Surprisingly, when I entered the office, I saw Fina and her cronies standing in front of their homeroom teacher.
Alisse Green was there too, chatting with the homeroom teacher of the Best Class.
"Mr. Simmons, please give us thirty minutes to get ready. We only just arrived at school," Fina pleaded.
Mr. Simmons looked annoyed but eventually nodded.
So Fina was trying to create an alibi that she’d only just arrived today, making it impossible for her to be responsible for my injuries.
She planned this well. But there was no way they could defeat me with tricks like that.
Before I reached Mrs. Willette’s desk, Fina rushed there first.
What was she up to now?
"Mrs. Willette, I want to file a complaint about a student from your class. Clarissa from Brown Pack," she said self-righteously.
Mrs. Willette, who had been reading, lifted her head with a displeased look.
"Fina Sanders? What baseless accusation do the Sanders want to throw this time?"
"This one isn’t baseless. I have proof."
Mrs. Willette frowned. "Stop wasting time. Say it quickly. You still need to get ready for class."
"Yes, Mrs. Willette." Fina signaled her crony to prepare something while she began her story.
"Clarissa has tarnished the academy’s reputation. She’s been seducing the Alpha’s sons. First Oscar—well, I won’t talk much about Oscar since you probably won’t believe me—but besides him, she has also been approaching Larry Green."
Fina deliberately raised her voice so the Best Class teacher could hear. He glanced over and so did Alisse.
I had to stop this nonsense immediately.
"Lies!" I shouted. Instantly, every pair of eyes turned toward me.
The teachers were shocked by my battered appearance.
"What happened to you, Clarissa?" Mrs. Willette asked, her voice full of worry.
I limped forward. "Fina and her friends did this to me."
"I did not—!"
"Yes, I’m close to Larry Green," I cut her off quickly.
Fina and Alisse froze for a moment, surprised I admitted it, then smirked quietly.
Time to end this.
"I’m close to him because I’m his sister. His biological sister."
The teachers gasped, but before they could process my words, Fina shrieked,
"Mr. Woods! Will you let one of your best students have his reputation ruined by her?!"
Mr. Woods, Larry’s homeroom teacher, snapped out of his shock and glared at me.
"Clarissa lied to Larry, saying she was his sister to get close to him. Larry even gave her the latest model com-orb—it’s expensive!" Fina rattled on like some storyteller.
"Fina, be quiet. Let Clarissa finish," Mrs. Willette insisted. As always, she was the only one on my side.
I took a breath.
"I really am Larry Green’s sister, biological daughter of the Alpha and Luna of Green Pack. Because she didn’t believe me, and because she holds a grudge over what happened with Oscar, Fina and her friends attacked me and caused all these injuries. I have pro—"
"That’s enough." Alisse’s voice cut through the room.
She spoke at a normal volume, but there was pressure behind it, enough to silence someone weak like me, though it didn’t affect the teachers.
She truly was different from Fina. Even though they were both Beta’s daughters, Alisse clearly had more brains.
"The Beta is the Alpha’s right hand. And I, Alisse Green, Beta’s daughter of Green Pack, testify that Clarissa is not the Alpha’s daughter."
"How dare you lie, Clarissa!" Mr. Woods snapped. He slammed his hand on the desk and released his pressure.
My body collapsed, my wounds flaring open again.
I should’ve known. I should’ve never hoped for that family.
If they truly wanted me as their daughter, they would’ve brought me home months ago, and announced to everyone that I was theirs.
I would always be just Clarissa, the defective omega orphan with no family name.
"She’s not lying! Clarissa is my sister—
Derren Green’s sister!"
