Remarried Wife: She will Remarry, But Another Person-Chapter 158: How Could It Not Be Soft?
When returning to their place, she nearly relied on her instincts and followed Jasper Fitzgerald.
Jasper was beside her, seemingly saying something to her, but she didn’t hear a word.
It wasn’t until she stumbled over the steps that she was jolted back to reality.
"Are you okay?"
Jasper helped her up, his handsome brow and eyes showing a hint of concern.
Sabrina Hayes was still shaken, looked at him, and replied, "I’m... fine."
Then she raised her hand to rub her brow, apologetically saying, "Sorry, I was too tired just now, I didn’t hear what you were saying."
Jasper noticed.
Her spirits seemed a bit dazed while walking just now, obviously exhausted.
He felt even more guilty, "I should be saying sorry, if I hadn’t called you here, you wouldn’t be so tired."
Sabrina shook her head, not minding, "It’s okay, though I was a bit tired, I’ve already pushed through, haven’t I?"
Only then did she realize they were already back inside.
The room before her was somewhat simply furnished, with just an iron bed, wooden tables and chairs, and a wardrobe, but it was exceptionally clean.
She looked around and asked, "Am I staying here tonight?"
Jasper nodded, "The conditions at the mountain lodge are limited, but the bedding is new and washed, don’t be too picky."
Sabrina scrutinized a bit.
The quilt was folded into a neat square, and the bottom layer looked particularly thick and soft, clearly indicating an extra layer was added.
She was not a picky person, especially now when she was exhausted, she immediately went over, sat on the bed, and said, "Not picky, this bed is pretty soft, it must be very comfortable to sleep on."
Nash Spencer, standing at the door, thought: Of course it’s soft, it was specially ordered by the boss!
Jasper saw she wasn’t bothered, felt relieved, and came over to ask, "Before resting, do you want to eat something? There’s soup here, drink some to warm up before sleeping."
Sabrina truly had no appetite, so she shook her head, "No, I should freshen up first, then go straight to sleep... To be honest, I just want to lie down now and sleep forever!"
She half-joked, taking off her coat as she spoke.
The indoors were not as cold as outside, but the temperature was still terribly low, she hesitated to take it off.
However, the thought soon vanished.
"Thank you for the coat, it’s good I had it to block the wind, or else I’d be frozen solid."
When Jasper took the coat, he intended to respond with ’Not that bad.’
But his fingers accidentally touched her hand, and he felt a chill seep through.
That temperature...
His brows furrowed, he promptly said, "Your luggage is in the wardrobe, and there’s hot water in the bathroom, go take a hot shower and rest well, if you need anything, just find me."
Sabrina didn’t mind.
Perhaps worried she’d catch a cold, Jasper didn’t stay long and soon left.
Once he left, Sabrina wasted no time, quickly found some clothes, and went for a shower.
Afterward, her head barely touched the pillow and she slept.
She thought she would sleep deeply, but was awakened by a cramping sensation in the middle of the night.
Sabrina opened her eyes, feeling helpless.
The pain came from her abdomen, a clear sign of her period.
She had left in such a hurry, she hadn’t brought anything she needed.
This late at night, should she go to the medical area to ask the nurses?
Really, when it rains, it pours.
Sabrina, on the verge of tears, could only bear the cold as she crawled out of bed and went out.
It was past three in the morning, outside was quiet, and the cold wind was biting.
Sabrina intended to make it quick, but was startled as soon as she stepped out by the two figures standing at the door.
They were two bodyguards dressed in black.
Seeing her, they promptly greeted, "Dr. Nash."
Sabrina patted her chest and couldn’t help asking, "Why are you guys here scaring people so late at night instead of sleeping?"
The bodyguards were momentarily stunned, quickly explaining, "Sorry, we were instructed by the boss to guard here in case you woke up and needed anything... Is Dr. Nash planning to go somewhere? If you need to find someone or get something, please tell us."
Sabrina paused.
So it was Jasper Fitzgerald’s arrangement?
She felt a little warm inside but politely refused their help.
How could she let two unfamiliar men help with something like that?
"No need, I can go myself."
The bodyguard looked reluctant, "It’s very cold outside, Dr. Nash has been busy all day and night, you’re still recovering, going out might get you sick, please let us handle it."
Sabrina clenched the coat around her and insisted, "Really don’t need it!"
The two bodyguards looked quite troubled.
They were following orders, if they let her go out like this, they’d surely be blamed in the morning.
Just as the situation was at a stalemate, the neighboring door suddenly opened.
A steady pace could be heard from within.
Sabrina looked over and saw it was Jasper Fitzgerald.
The man was clearly woken up, his handsome eyes lowered, expressing some remaining displeasure, his voice deep and chilly, "What’s all this noise?"
The bodyguards saw him as a savior, quickly tattling, "Boss, Dr. Nash woke up, insisted on going out, we asked if she needed help, she refused!"
Jasper’s gaze slightly narrowed, only then did he see the figure they were blocking.
He immediately walked over with long strides, gently inquiring, "Why are you awake? Where are you going?"
"..."
Sabrina felt embarrassed and awkward.
Why did Mr. Fitzgerald sleep next door?
If she’d known, she wouldn’t have argued with them!
"Hmm?"
Jasper saw she wasn’t speaking and asked confusedly, "Are you uncomfortable?"
"No... just..."
Sabrina mumbled a few words, truly at a loss.
However, her lower abdomen did hurt, making her feel quite uncomfortable.
She instinctively used her palm to cover it.
Jasper noticed, his brow furrowed, "Are you having stomach pain?"
Sabrina was about to collapse.
If it were stomach pain, that’d be better...
She stammered, "No, I’m just... wanting to go to the medical area to find a female nurse... you guys don’t need to worry, I’ll be back quickly!"
Jasper, seeing her like this, finally started to realize something.
He was slightly stunned, but soon regained composure, naturally saying, "I understand, come back inside, it’s cold outside, don’t catch a chill, as for what’s troubling you... I’ll figure it out."
After speaking, he didn’t wait for her response, instead gently pushing her back inside.
Sabrina, once again curled up on the bed, was still somewhat skeptical.
Did he really know?
Was he going to fetch stomach medicine?
Sabrina hesitated and picked up the phone, thinking she’d better text him.
Texting is at least not as awkward!
But she couldn’t open it.
The phone was out of battery without her knowing.
Sabrina felt utterly helpless, completely giving up.
Oh well! 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
It wouldn’t be the first time she was embarrassed in front of him!
One more time doesn’t hurt.
