Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 71: Just Woke Up and Already Wants to Be Discharged, Does She Think She’s Iron Man?
"Sir, the Young Madam is awake, but..." The servant trailed off.
Leona Grant furrowed his brow. "Do I have to drag it out of you word by word?"
"The Young Madam woke up and said she wants to be discharged from the hospital, and..."
"Nonsense!" Leona Grant cut the servant off before they could finish. In a fit of rage, he slammed the phone’s receiver down. "She just woke up and she wants to leave the hospital? Does she think she’s too healthy? I don’t care what it takes, stop her! I’m on my way back now!"
"But, the Young Madam has already been discharged... She went to the old family mansion..."
As soon as the words were spoken, the entire room fell so silent you could hear a pin drop.
Hearing this, Leona Grant gritted his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut. A clear rage began to slowly brew in his dark eyes.
Everyone in the conference room looked at each other, breaking out in a cold sweat.
Chase, standing to the side, watched his boss’s expression and knew he was truly furious.
’Usually, the quieter the boss is when he’s angry, the greater the ensuing storm. Even though Chase had been through this many times before, he still felt an inexplicable, bone-chilling gust of wind.’
’He silently lit a row of candles in his mind for the poor soul on the other end of the line.’
Leona Grant’s thin lips pressed into a tight line. The next second, he shot to his feet and violently hurled the laptop in front of him to the ground.
BANG—
Instantly, the computer that had been working perfectly just moments ago shattered into pieces.
"I’ve only been gone for two hours, and she’s disappeared! You can’t even watch over one sick person? Do you think you deserve the salary I pay you? A useless, imbecilic, low-class piece of trash like you belongs in a zoo! From now on, I don’t want to see you ever again. You are fired! Now! Immediately! At once! Get. OUT!"
After saying his piece, he violently smashed the phone in his hand as well.
Still fuming, Leona Grant proceeded to violently smash everything in front of him that could be smashed.
Everyone in the conference room endured his wrath in dead silence.
Leona Grant took a deep breath, leaning on the conference table as he looked at everyone present. His deep voice was thick with obvious misdirected and lingering anger.
"I want to see construction start on the Dragon’s Cove project this month. I’m not satisfied with a single one of the proposals for Prylea Island—redo all of them. If you can’t produce an outstanding proposal, you can all resign! As for President Sutton at September International, make sure you manage that relationship well. You know the reason why. Meeting adjourned!"
Having delivered his summary all at once, Leona Grant strode coolly out of the conference room.
’Falling from such a high flight of stairs, in a coma for three whole days, and she wants to leave the hospital the moment she wakes up? Does she think she’s Iron Man or something?!’
He didn’t know why, but he was in a particularly foul mood.
A message arrived on the other phone in his pocket.
Leona Grant opened it. It was from an unknown number: "Time for a divorce."
He knew who it was without even having to think. Leona Grant’s heart clenched as he slowly began to sense what was happening.
’Annabelle Linton went to the old family mansion right after waking up... she’s not there to discuss the divorce with the family, is she?’
’Damn it, does that woman want to divorce him that badly? So much so that she’d run to the old family mansion the moment she woke up?’
Leona Grant was furious, but more than that, he felt a restless, anxious irritation.
He felt something gradually slipping away, walking out of his life.
The more Leona Grant thought about it, the more uneasy he became. He stepped into the elevator and drove back to the old family mansion.
’Annabelle Linton had fallen down the stairs on purpose. Her goal was to get Grandfather to agree to their divorce.’
’Wealthy families always place great importance on heirs, but for Grandfather to actually suggest they undergo in vitro fertilization... it meant that in his heart, this marriage of theirs was not something he would let them end easily.’
