Chapter 167: Chapter 167: You want to divorce me for that wild man outside, is that it?

Annabelle Linton froze, momentarily stunned by his self-righteous words.

’How could he have the nerve?’

’How could he have the nerve to say that?’

’There was a time when she looked at him, full of hope, wishing for just a single word of greeting—even a single glance of concern would have been enough. But what did he do?’

’He and that bitch had relentlessly humiliated her!’

Annabelle Linton was filled with so much hatred right now.

’She hated that pathetic, delusional, idiotic, debased version of herself!’

’If only she’d had a shred of sense back then, how could she have let that bitch trick her time and time again, plotting against her over and over?!’

’How could she have fallen in love with this cold-blooded, heartless bastard?!’

Annabelle Linton’s lips curved into a careless smile. "Is it necessary for me to understand?"

Leona Grant froze—

Annabelle Linton lowered her gaze and let out a soft laugh, her slightly hoarse voice steeped in casual mockery. "Leona Grant, I’ve said it more than once. We’re over. It’s finished. I have nothing to do with you. Can’t you understand plain language?"

Leona Grant’s expression couldn’t have gotten any darker.

Annabelle Linton looked at him calmly, but her palms were slowly clenching into fists. "Your woman? I think you’ve forgotten. The moment you thought I pushed Vivian Yates, the moment you thought my suicide attempt was just an act—you lost that right long ago."

Leona Grant pressed his thin lips into a straight line. "About that..."

"Let’s get a divorce."

The corners of Annabelle Linton’s mouth curved up, but despite the smile, her face remained cold and expressionless. "There’s no point in continuing a marriage that exists in name only. It’s just for Grandpa’s sake. Let’s get a divorce. We won’t tell anyone, and if anything happens, I’ll take full responsibility."

Hearing this, Leona Grant’s eyes went cold. He rejected her without a second thought. "You’ll take responsibility? How will you take responsibility? What if Grandpa finds out and is angered to death?!"

"Then are we supposed to spend the rest of our lives in this meaningless marriage that only holds us back? Leona Grant, I’m giving you the best option. We’ll keep it from Grandpa, and we can both go our separate ways. I don’t want to fight with you. Don’t force my hand."

Annabelle Linton closed her eyes, feeling exhausted. She turned and walked wearily toward the old residence.

A sharp glint flashed in Leona Grant’s eyes.

’Why is she pushing so hard for a divorce?’

’Is it because of Aaron Wyatt?’

’What’s her next step after the divorce?’

’Getting together with Aaron Wyatt?!’

’Damn it!’

"Annabelle Linton, are you divorcing me because of some man on the side? You’d even lower yourself to someone like that?"

Annabelle Linton didn’t bother explaining, only responding coolly, "You don’t need to look down on anyone. In this world, even an animal is better than you."

Leona Grant was instantly furious.

He stepped forward, blocking Annabelle Linton’s path. Placing a hand on her waist, he forcefully pulled her into his arms.

But as soon as he pulled her close, the faint scent of another man’s cologne assaulted his senses!

A sinister glint flashed in Leona Grant’s eyes as he raised his voice. "Annabelle Linton, say that again. I dare you!"

"I could say it a hundred times and it would still be the same. In my eyes, you, Leona Grant, are worse than an animal. And another thing—watch your mouth. In my heart, he’s a hundred, a thousand times better than you."

"Fine! Good! Then I’ll let you see just how ’worse than a beast’ I can be!"

Leona Grant let out two cold, angry laughs, then bent down and crushed his lips against Annabelle Linton’s.

Annabelle Linton’s brow furrowed in disgust. She struggled a couple of times, but Leona Grant only held her tighter and kissed her more fiercely.

Without a second thought, Annabelle Linton swung her hand and slapped him hard across the face!
