REJECTED ONCE, FROZEN FOREVER-Chapter 42: UNDER ATTACK

"This is the best news I have ever received." He said and kissed her again.

"I know you lost your first baby, but I promise you nothing will happen to our child." Adrian said taking her hands in his hands.

"I know, I was scared to tell you." She said not hiding anything.

"Ari, you never have to think that I would treat like that idiot. Beside I should thank him." He replied.

"Thank him?" Ariana asked with a confused expression.

"Yes, if he didn’t reject you, how was I going to meet you." He said cupping her face and kissed her eyes.

"You’re right, I will thank them one day when I see them. I have a wonderful family now because of them. You guys gave me so much love, I now know what love feels likes." Ariana said and Adrian opened his arms to her, and she moved forward into his arms.

Two years have passed, although Ava managed to get the strength she uses to have, she still couldn’t get Hunter’s heart. Even though they gave up looking for Ariana Hunter never lost hope.

Every day he prayed to the Moon Goddess to give him another chance to see her again. He wonders how old his child was now; he was hoping that the child would be able to bring Ariana back to him.

He had been foolish in the past and that costed him everything, he was now stuck with Ava who he had no feelings for. Their pack had now fallen from where it was.

They used to be the first pack, the most wanted pack for everyone to join, but everything fell the day Ariana left.

Hunter sat in his office burying himself in more work, he didn’t want to go back home. Now whenever he sees Ava it always reminded of how he treated Ariana, how could he reject his mate and take her sister as his mate and luna.

"Hunter when are you coming back?" He heard Ava mind linking him.

"I’ll come back when I finish." He replied harshly and blocked her from contacting him again.

"HUNTER!" Ava screamed his name in frustration.

’I warned you about the consequences of rejecting our own mate for someone else. The bond between fated mates is stronger than the mate you choose.’ Ava’s wolf retorted making her even more angry.

"Shut up! If you don’t have anything useful to say, then shut up. Do you think I wanted to be with someone that keeps pining for someone else." Ava replied to her wolf.

"Was it not him that came to me, he said that he didn’t find his mate and wanted me to be his mate. He promised me that even if he found his mate he would reject her for me, if I knew that I would suffer like this I would never have agreed." Ava added with tears rolling down her eyes.

Ava’s wolf looked at her human and rolled her eyes.

"Weren’t you after the luna position?" Her wolf asked annoyed.

Ava’s wolf could never understand why Ava always twisted facts to make herself innocent.

"That’s why it’s never wise to reject you fated mate, one day when Ariana returns, he is going to leave you, then what would all this luna thing benefit you." Her wolf retorted again.

"Even the child you managed to have after so many difficulties he never paid attention to her." Her wolf added.

"What is the point of telling me this now? It’s not like I can change anything." Ava said annoyed.

She looked at her daughter who was playing on the floor.

"Mommy, is daddy coming back?" Her daughter asked her to look at her with her big blue eyes that she got from Hunter.

"Daddy is going to be late tomorrow." She said and her daughter frowned.

"Let’s go and see grandma." She said offering her hand to her daughter.

"Okay!" Her daughter said happily standing up from the floor.

Ava decided to see her mother. When she walked to the door, she knocked, and her mother opened the door.

"Mom!" Ava called out.

"Did you receive news of Ariana?" Her mother asked grabbing her hand like a mad woman.

The past two years their mother aged so much that someone would mistake her for their grandmother.

"No mom, everyone has stopped looking for that jinx when you will wake up." Ava replied coldly shrugging her hands off.

"Ava, we did wrong with her." Her mother said with a sigh. All she felt in these past two years was regret.

Ava rolled her eyes, ’Ariana again!’ She muttered under her breath in annoyance.

Hunter barely touched her all because of Ariana. Although she was trying her best to be the best luna. It seemed like no one appreciated what she did, after all in their eyes she was the one who made them lose their true luna.

They all shifted the blame to her, making themselves pure. The whole pack tortured Ariana together but now that they knew that she was their destined luna, they changed tunes.

They would all say that they did what they did to Ariana to please her. Hunter used to shower her with so much affection, and knowing Hunter was going to be their alpha in the future they all wanted to be on her good side.

"Why did you have to take her mate?" He mother accused.

"Did I know, all this pack all ever does is blame me. Stop pushing the blame on me to make yourselves feel better." She shouted.

"Mommy!" Her daughter called out to her frightened.

"Attack, we are under attack." She heard the mind link.

"Look after her." She said and pushed her daughter in her mother’s arms and stormed out.

Ava shifted into her wolf and sprinted to where the attack was happening. The sight shocked her.

"What are they?" She asked looking at the intruders.
