Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 37: Carry Your Own Wife
Because they went to bed late, Xue Yang and Lin Xi didn’t wake up until the afternoon. Their sleeping positions were quite wild. Lin Xi clung to Xue Yang like an octopus, one of his hands wrapped naturally around her slender waist while the other cradled her head, giving her an infinite sense of security.
When Lin Xi opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Xue Yang’s perfect profile. He appeared much more well-behaved in his sleep than when he was awake. His long eyelashes fluttered slightly above his prominent nose and handsome face. If we could just sleep like this forever, it would be quite nice.
She slowly reached out, tracing the contours of Xue Yang’s face as her heart thumped uncontrollably. Who would have thought that just a month ago, I considered him a bad person? Yet, I still followed him. If it had been anyone else, I probably would have chosen to endure a night in the cold wind rather than go with them.
Just then, Xue Yang suddenly opened his eyes. Their gazes met, Lin Xi’s hand still resting on his cheek.
Lin Xi was wearing a set of coral fleece pajamas with the buttons undone almost to her stomach, offering Xue Yang a generous view.
Facing his gaze, Lin Xi offered an embarrassed smile. "I was just swatting a mosquito for you."
She was completely unaware of how tempting she looked to him at that moment.
"Oh," Xue Yang replied calmly. He turned his back to Lin Xi, got out of bed, and started to get dressed.
Only then did Lin Xi realize her pajamas were wide open. Her face flushed crimson as she quickly burrowed under the covers, completely mortified. Why do I always embarrass myself in front of him?
"Xue Yang, look outside! Let’s go build a snowman!" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Outside, the entire city was draped in white, like a world made of ice and snow. Lin Xi was the type to forget the pain as soon as the wound healed.
Her coral fleece pajamas were a one-piece. The top was thick, but the bottoms only reached her knees. In her excitement, she sat up and swung her long, fair legs past Xue Yang. The movement was so wide that a hint of pink became faintly visible.
She really loves pink, he thought. Almost all her underwear is pink, just with different patterns.
"Wait, we need to get ready first," Xue Yang said, draping a pink windbreaker over her and blocking part of the view.
After putting on gloves, hats, scarves, and waterproof shoes, Xue Yang and Lin Xi headed downstairs. The windbreakers they wore were a gift from Trendy Apparel and were perfect for such snowy weather.
It was the first snow of the season, and it had been falling all night. By the time they got downstairs, there was at least ten centimeters of snow on the ground. Numerous snowmen already stood there, looking as if they were waving at them. Many people were still building more, making the scene much livelier than the night before.
The snowmen came in all sorts of quirky designs. Some were truly bizarre, with a head that was just a small, round hole, a spine like a stick, two large, round eyes, and a body supported by a pair of tiny hands. Others wore hats made from red buckets and red scarves around their necks, with carrot noses that made them look very cute. Some were even shaped like large polar bears. It was truly a varied and fantastic sight.
Xue Yang had long wanted to build a snowman. He had imagined it countless times, but now that he finally had the chance, he suddenly didn’t know where to start.
"Haha, Xue Yang, you don’t know how to build a snowman," Lin Xi teased him mercilessly.
"I’m from the south. Isn’t it normal for me not to know how?"
"I’ll teach you," Lin Xi said, beginning to roll a small snowball on the ground. "First, you make a big snowball for the snowman’s body. Then you make a smaller one for the head, like this. Xue Yang, come on!"
Xue Yang wrapped his arms around her from behind, both of their hands resting on the small snowball. The moment he drew near, Lin Xi’s breath hitched.
"Weren’t you going to teach me? What’s the next step?"
His pleasant voice drifted down from above her, making Lin Xi tremble slightly. She had no choice but to roll the snowball on instinct. It grew larger and larger, and soon, a huge snowball sat before them.
However, there was a problem—it was too big, almost as tall as Lin Xi herself, nearly obscuring her completely.
Lin Xi gaped at the towering snowball, her expression dumbfounded. Wait, didn’t I just brag to Xue Yang about how amazing I was at building snowmen?
"It’s too big," Xue Yang said gently. "Let’s make another one. We just won’t roll it for so long."
The second snowball, though not as large, was still a failure.
"Xue Yang, you just watch me," Lin Xi declared.
Her small, pink-clad figure bustled about in the vast white snow. She rolled out a large snowball and then a smaller one. After placing them together, she began shaping them with her hands and feet. Under her gentle touch, the semblance of a snowman began to emerge. Then, she deftly shaped snow into the form of clothes. In no time at all, a snowman wearing a lolita-style dress stood before Xue Yang.
Lin Xi was right—she was indeed very good at building snowmen. She used the same materials as everyone else, but hers looked different, incredibly lifelike—almost like a real person.
"Xue Yang, come help me stack the snowballs we made earlier. It’s too high; I need your help."
Xue Yang bent over slightly, gesturing for Lin Xi to sit on his shoulders. Blushing, she hesitated.
"Hurry up," Xue Yang said casually. "Don’t tell me you expect me to hold you while we build this?"
Lin Xi carefully perched on one of Xue Yang’s shoulders, and as he slowly stood up, her vantage point improved dramatically. She could see nearly everyone in the area.
So this is what it’s like to be tall. There are so many advantages!
Envious whispers came from the onlookers.
"They’re so sweet together."
"They make a perfect couple!"
Soon, a tall, male snowman began to take shape.
No matter how he looked at it, the snowman seemed strangely familiar.
"Haha, am I amazing?"
Lin Xi’s specialty was making snowmen that looked like real people. The male snowman she just finished looked almost exactly like Xue Yang. It went without saying that the other snowman, the one in the dress, was meant to be her. The snowmen Lin Xi built stood out amongst the many on the street.
"Mister, is she your girlfriend?" a little girl, about seven or eight years old, came up to them. She wore a thick cotton jacket, a fluffy white scarf, and a little cat hat, which framed a pair of large, watery eyes that were incredibly cute. "The snowman she made is so beautiful."
Lin Xi liked her almost instantly.
"Sweetie, I’m not his girlfriend," Lin Xi replied with a gentle smile. "We’re just friends."
"That’s not possible! I just saw him carrying you on his shoulders! Don’t only husbands carry their wives like that?"
