Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 360 - 358: Back to Our Own Home
"Then how about I cook for you from now on?"
Xue Yang gently stroked her head. "Is your father home?"
Lin Xi pursed her crimson lips. "He’s not. He hasn’t been back for a long time."
"Like we agreed, I want to get your father’s approval for us to be together."
Xue Yang had come today intending to meet Lin Xi’s father, but as luck would have it, he wasn’t home.
Is he genuinely busy, or is he deliberately avoiding me? Never mind. I’m sure I’ll get another chance eventually.
Lin Xi took Xue Yang’s hand. "I don’t know when Dad will be back, but the day he returns, I’ll bring you to meet him."
"Okay. Let’s go home, then. To our own home."
Lin Xi nodded vigorously. "Yes, back to our own home!"
Xue Yang led Lin Xi by the hand toward the passenger side of the car. After seeing her settled in, he went to get her luggage.
He walked up to Auntie Shen and Uncle He and gave them a slight nod. "Auntie Shen, Uncle He."
Auntie Shen smiled faintly. "Xue Yang, it’s been a while."
"Auntie Shen, I’ll take good care of Xiao Xi."
Auntie Shen glanced toward the car, where Lin Xi was waving and smiling at her from the passenger seat. She turned her gaze back to Xue Yang. "Xiao Xi is in your hands now," she said.
He then got into the driver’s seat. Holding Lin Xi’s hand, he felt as if he were holding the entire world.
Finally... his Xiao Xi is back.
Lin Xi leaned over, resting her head against him as she smiled blissfully.
...

They arrived at their new home in the Tongfang Residential District, just a ten-minute trip from the university.
Xue Yang pushed three suitcases while Lin Xi wheeled one. As they opened the door, a familiar scent immediately washed over them.
A smile spread across Lin Xi’s face.
"I’m finally back."
"You even bought flowers! And they’re pink roses."
Pink roses were also her favorite. Besides the roses, the balcony was filled with swathes of gardenias and colorful sunflowers.
"Our place is a little small for now, but I thought you’d like these decorations."
Lin Xi let go of her suitcase and hugged Xue Yang. "I love it. Thank you, Xue Yang."
"Let’s get this luggage unpacked first."
"Alright."
Four suitcases were quite a lot. It took the two of them over two hours to finish, after which they both collapsed onto the sofa.
"Do all girls have this much stuff?"
It was another eye-opening experience for Xue Yang. He thought Lin Xi’s belongings were excessive before, but this was on another level. He was convinced there wasn’t a "most," only "more." He believed that if the house were any bigger, she would have somehow managed to fill it.
"That’s girl business. You stay out of it."
Hmm? Is this little rascal trying to be fierce with me?
Xue Yang turned his head, only to see Lin Xi smiling playfully at him.
"What did you just say?"
"I said, that’s girl business, you... Ah—!"
Lin Xi’s vision blurred as Xue Yang pinned her to the sofa. Her eyes went wide as she stared up at him. After a moment, her large eyes blinked, making her look just like a baffled kitten.
Right at that moment, her phone rang.
They both froze. Xue Yang frowned.
Lin Xi gave him a little push. "My phone is ringing."
Who could have such terrible timing, calling right now?
Xue Yang held her hand down. "Don’t answer it."
"What if it’s my dad?"
Lin Xi’s phone rarely rang. When it did, it was almost certainly family.
Xue Yang reluctantly let her go.
Lin Xi fumbled for her phone, glanced at the screen, and said, "It’s Auntie Zhong."
"My mom?"
Why is she calling Lin Xi? No wonder this girl doesn’t answer my calls sometimes. My own mother is beating me to it.
On the other end of the video call, Zhong Hailan’s eyes scanned the background behind Lin Xi, catching a glimpse of what looked like her bratty son’s shirt off to the side. A wide smile spread across her face.
"Xiao Xi, you’re back!"
Lin Xi smiled sweetly. "Auntie, I’m back."
"It’s good that you’re back. I sent some more things your way; they should have arrived today. I’ll have that brat Xue Yang go pick them up later."
"Auntie, I haven’t even finished the things you sent last time."
"That was so long ago! Don’t eat that. Oh, just let that brat eat it. You can have the fresh stuff."
Xue Yang stared in disbelief.
Lin Xi giggled. Auntie Zhong is hilarious. No wonder Xue Yang is so amusing—he clearly takes after his mother.
Xue Yang’s head popped into the frame. "Mom, do you happen to remember that you have a biological son?"
"Can’t say I do. I only remember I have a dear daughter. Now, move aside. Don’t get in the way of my chat with my daughter."
Xue Yang was speechless.
Great. Just great. So now *she’s* the "dear daughter," and I’m the son they picked up off the street.
"Remember, don’t eat the older stuff since it’s been sitting for a while. Have Xue Yang pick up the new delivery and eat that. I also sent some mangoes. In a little while, the lychees and longans will be in season, and I’ll send you some of those, too."
"Thank you, Auntie."
After hanging up, Lin Xi looped her arm through Xue Yang’s and rested her head on his shoulder. "Xue Yang, let’s go shopping!"
Xue Yang glanced at the time. It was 7:05 PM, a perfect time to go out.
"Okay."
"Then just wait a minute while I change my clothes."
Xue Yang nodded. Lin Xi jogged into her room and closed the door.
She opened the closet, revealing a row of clothes inside. Tapping a finger to her chin, she wondered.
What should I wear?
This was, in the strictest sense, their first official public date, so she couldn’t just wear anything. She looked down at her sapphire blue dress.
Xue Yang seems to prefer a sportier style.
An idea struck her. She took out a pink plaid shirt and a black knee-length skirt.
Seeing that Lin Xi had gone to change, Xue Yang went into the spare bedroom to change as well. He was out three minutes later.
Lin Xi hadn’t emerged yet, so Xue Yang sat back down on the sofa, waiting idly.
Girls always take so long to change.
He unlocked his phone and checked his messages.
Half an hour later, Lin Xi finally came out.
The moment she opened her bedroom door, Xue Yang’s mind went completely blank. He knew she was beautiful, but she managed to dazzle him anew with every change of clothes, each time more stunningly than the last.
She was wearing a short-sleeved pink plaid shirt paired with a black, knee-length A-line skirt that revealed her straight, porcelain-smooth legs. Her long, silken hair was gathered into a neat, round bun at the nape of her neck. To mark the occasion of their first official date, she had even put on some light makeup.
It brought to mind the old poem: true beauty is lovely with both light and heavy adornment. The sight was a stunning blow, making it impossible to look away.
Xue Yang suddenly regretted agreeing to take her shopping.
"What am I going to do?" he murmured. "A part of me doesn’t want anyone else to see how beautiful you are."
