Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 35 Couple’s Outfit
"Could they have sent the wrong order?" Xue Yang wondered, immediately going online to contact customer service. Neither he nor Lin Xi was a greedy person. If the company had made a mistake, they were determined to send the items back.
Trendy Apparel: "Hi there, you’ve received the clothes, right?"
Xue Yang: "Yes, we have, but there are two extra sets. You sent four sets in total. I’ll send the extra ones back to you."
Trendy Apparel: "Hi, it wasn’t a mistake. We spoke with your girlfriend last time, and with our boss’s approval, we specifically sent you our latest matching couple’s outfits."
"Is that so? Thank you," Xue Yang replied.
"You’re welcome! We look forward to your photos and a positive review," the message concluded, followed by handshake and rose emojis.
Putting his phone away, Xue Yang told Lin Xi, "They sent them as a gift. They’re, uh, matching couple’s outfits."
Lin Xi’s face instantly turned bright red. She quickly tried to explain, "I didn’t say anything to them! It was their own misunderstanding."
What if Xue Yang thinks I did it on purpose to scam them for free clothes? Or worse, that I have some kind of ulterior motive toward him?
"I know."
Xue Yang’s response seemed a little cold. He must have misunderstood, Lin Xi thought.
"Xue Yang, I really didn’t tell them we were a couple. They just assumed," she insisted.
Xue Yang unpacked the clothes. Two of the sets were fleece-lined winter jackets for couples, with a slightly loose fit. One was black, and the other was pink. The black was sleek and dignified, while the pink was playful and cute—a perfect match for them.
Hearing Lin Xi’s frantic explanation, he didn’t dwell on it, simply saying, "Come on, try your jacket on and see if it fits."
"Xue Yang, you aren’t angry, are you?"
"Why would I be angry?" Xue Yang asked, puzzled.
"I don’t know..." Lin Xi was a mess of contradictions. Part of her was afraid he would be angry that people misunderstood their relationship, while another part was afraid of him *not* being angry.
Xue Yang patted her head and smiled. "Why would I be upset about free clothes? We just moved, and most of our money is gone. You needed winter clothes anyway, and now that they’ve sent these, I don’t have to buy them. This saves us a ton of money that we can use to go out and have some fun."
This silly girl, he thought. She was so focused on buying me warm winter clothes that she completely forgot she didn’t have any for herself. Was she planning to go through the whole winter like this?
In the past, Xue Yang would have adhered to the principle of not accepting unearned gifts and returned the clothes. But now, he chose to keep them.
Lin Xi finally realized she didn’t have any winter clothes of her own, a thought that hadn’t even crossed her mind. Her only focus had been on dressing Xue Yang up to look handsome and stylish; seeing him look good made her happy.
"As long as you’re not angry, Xue Yang."
Lin Xi had given the shop Xue Yang’s size for the black jacket, but miraculously, the pink one also fit her perfectly—not too big, not too small.
"How did they guess my size? That’s amazing."
The first time Xue Yang had seen Lin Xi, she was wearing a pink Lolita dress, and he had noticed her instantly. It was clear that pink was her color. The large pink winter jacket enveloped her small frame, with just her little head peeking out. It made her cheeks look rosy, like a delicate doll. He had the sudden urge to tuck her into his pocket and hide her from the world.
The winter jacket from Trendy Apparel was, without a doubt, a great fit for Xue Yang. He was tall and slim, and wearing it, he projected an aura that wasn’t the least bit inferior to a professional model’s. In fact, he had an understated nobility about him. He looked like he could make his debut right then and there.
Lin Xi even had the fleeting thought that it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Xue Yang to model for them. However, given his aversion to having his picture taken, that probably wasn’t going to happen.
The other two sets were made of lambswool. They both had hoods with cute little rabbit ears and were pure white. Lin Xi’s had fluffy cuffs and came with a matching white lambswool scarf, while the pants were fleece-lined and fitted. It had to be said, the people at Trendy Apparel were incredibly thoughtful. It was no wonder they were so popular with young people.
Lin Xi picked up Xue Yang’s white lambswool jacket, imagining how adorable he would look in it. Adorable, yes, but for a grown man, the outfit might seem a bit childish.
"Xue Yang, hurry and try on this lambswool jacket!"
"This... doesn’t seem very appropriate. One winter jacket is enough for me."
Truthfully, Xue Yang was resisting. A guy his height, well over six feet tall, wearing a lambswool jacket with rabbit ears? If Cui Hao saw him, he would never let him live it down.
"Just try it on! Like you said, they’re free, and we have to take pictures for them as feedback."
Reluctantly, Xue Yang took off his winter jacket and put on the lambswool one. While he was changing, Lin Xi also swapped her pink jacket for the white lambswool outfit. Although they couldn’t compare to the coats in her closet that cost tens of thousands, Lin Xi felt that these were the most comfortable clothes she had ever worn. And her new favorites.
They finished changing at almost the same time. Lin Xi looked up, and the moment she saw Xue Yang, her heart completely melted. She had always known white suited him—the shirts she bought for him were white, and most of his clothes were white—but nothing had ever suited him as perfectly as this jacket. She had expected him to look childish in something so fluffy, but the effect was the opposite. He didn’t look childish at all; instead, he looked incredibly pure.
It brought to mind the ancient verse, "A man like jade on a country road, a gentleman peerless in this world." He truly had the gentle elegance of a young nobleman. Who said only rugged jackets suited men? This soft, cuddly lambswool was just as perfect for them.
"Xue Yang, you look so handsome!"
Next to him, Lin Xi looked even more adorable. With the rabbit-ear hood on her head and the fluffy fur on her sleeves, she was the very image of a little bunny. If she had nine tails, she would be the living embodiment of Daji.
Xue Yang finally understood why ancient emperors would forsake their entire Jiangshan for a single smile from a beautiful woman.
"Xue Yang, do I look pretty?"
"You do!" Very pretty, he added silently in his heart.
A sweet smile bloomed on Lin Xi’s face, so radiant it seemed to make the entire world pale in comparison.
RUMBLE! A loud clap of thunder echoed from outside. Immediately after, a flurry of white snowflakes began to drift down from the sky.
"Xue Yang, look! It’s snowing!"
Xue Yang looked toward the balcony. Sure enough, a heavy snow had begun to fall. The scene was quiet, pure, romantic, and mysterious. It was like a beautiful scroll, where strokes of pristine white snow painted a unique and breathtaking picture.
"Xue Yang, can we go outside and watch the snow?"
