Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 217 - 215 I’ll Spend Valentine’s Day With You
If Tang Haotian hadn’t said that, it would have been fine. But as soon as he did, everyone assumed Xue Yang had simply fabricated a non-existent girlfriend to avoid being mocked.
"He really didn’t need to do that," Tang Haotian said, finding a casual excuse to get him off the hook. "It’s not a big deal if he didn’t get the girl. We wouldn’t laugh at him."
Others quickly chimed in. "Yeah, being devoted isn’t a crime. It’s the world’s fault!" "I hope Xue Yang can get over it soon."
"Alright, let’s drop the subject," Tang Haotian said. "Let’s go sing. Hopefully, by next Valentine’s Day, everyone will have found someone."
"Then we’ll take you up on that good omen, Haotian."
Luckily, they weren’t far, only about a ten-minute walk away. The large group set off for Emperor Hotel in high spirits.
「Meanwhile.」
By the shimmering lakeshore, three luxury cars slowly pulled into Emperor Hotel’s parking lot. Soon enough, seven girls, all dressed in Lolita-style dresses, stepped out of the vehicles.
For convenience, Si Wen had called the person in charge at Emperor Hotel well in advance, asking him to prepare three luxury cars for their use over the next few days.
Each of the seven girls wore a different color. The most prominent among them, standing at the very front, was a girl in a pink Lolita-style dress.
The color pink seemed tailor-made for her; it was a perfect match.
Most importantly, her figure was incredible—the perfect golden ratio, with curves in all the right places.
An uninformed observer might have mistaken them for seven elves who had suddenly descended to the mortal realm.
They added a unique and beautiful sight to Hui City.
The scenery was beautiful, but the people were even more so.
Passersby couldn’t help but turn their heads to look at them.
A few bolder young men even thought about approaching them to strike up a conversation.
But before they could get close to the seven beauties, they were blocked by towering, muscular bodyguards wearing sunglasses.
How could princesses not have knights to guard them?
Seeing this, the others had to abandon the idea. Though reluctant, they had no choice but to leave.
An hour earlier, Lin Xi and her friends had landed at Huicheng Airport and were taken straight to Emperor Hotel in one of the hotel’s luxury cars.
"Xiao Xi, do you know where Xue Yang’s home is?"
"I don’t. I never asked him for his address."
"Ah, what do we do now? Should we just call Xue Yang and have him come here?" Guan Yutong could hardly wait to see his reaction to their arrival.
"Wait, I think Xue Yang is calling," Lin Xi whispered. "Everyone be quiet."
Lin Xi walked aside and answered the call. Xue Yang’s magnetic voice instantly came through from the other end.
"Xiao Xi, happy Valentine’s Day!"
Upon hearing his voice, the discomfort of being in a strange city seemed to vanish into thin air. She responded, "Xue Yang, happy Valentine’s Day!"
"This is our first Valentine’s Day since we got together. It’s a shame you can’t be by my side."
"Xue Yang, where are you right now?"
"I’m not at home today. I was at a class reunion. We just finished eating, and they went to sing, but I didn’t go."
Truthfully, Xue Yang hadn’t eaten much. He never really intended to go to the reunion in the first place, so he was still hungry. He was thinking of strolling down the pedestrian street to find something to eat when he saw someone setting off fireworks and decided to call Lin Xi.
"Xue Yang," Lin Xi said, "you once mentioned that if I ever came to Hui City, you’d take me somewhere fun. Where would that be?"
Standing on the bank of West Lake, Xue Yang watched the fireworks continuously rising into the sky not far away, their reflections blooming into dazzling flowers on the water’s surface.
"I’d take you to West Lake to watch the fireworks."
West Lake? Isn’t that right where we are? What a coincidence.
Lin Xi gestured for her friends to follow her.
"Are you seeing any fireworks right now?" she asked.
"I am."
"Are they pretty?"
"Very pretty."
"Are you close to where the fireworks are?"
"They’re being set off not far from me. Um, roughly in the three o’clock direction."
While talking to Xue Yang on the phone, Lin Xi started walking toward the direction he had indicated.
"There are fireworks here, too. Can you hear them?"
"I can. What a coincidence. Are they beautiful?"
"Beautiful. Guess what color the fireworks are over here?"
"Fireworks are always multi-colored."
"Congratulations, you’re right. I’ve decided to give you a reward. What do you want?"
Holding the phone, Xue Yang looked up at the fireworks. His ears were still filled with noise—it was hardly any better than New Year’s Eve—but this time, he could clearly hear every single word Lin Xi said.
"Hmm... I want... to see you."
He really did want to see Lin Xi right now. Even though he would be able to see her in a couple of days, he still longed to see her at this very moment.
"Then close your eyes and count to three. Maybe I’ll appear in front of you."
Xue Yang chuckled. "You’re in Yancheng, over a thousand kilometers away. How could you appear in front of me?"
"What if? Just give it a try."
"Alright."
Xue Yang obediently closed his eyes. Even though he knew Lin Xi was just teasing him, he still did as she said and began to count. "One... two... three..."
He slowly opened his eyes. A familiar, fresh scent drifted to him, and a beautiful figure in pink was standing right before him.
Am I hallucinating? he thought, closing his eyes and opening them again. But the pink figure was still there, smiling at him. Has the quality of hallucinations gotten this high? This one is even animated.
As her stunningly beautiful face suddenly loomed closer, Xue Yang was even more astonished.
"It even moves," he muttered in a daze.
At that moment, a few peals of silvery laughter rang out from behind her.
"Haha! Xiao Xi, your Xue Yang is hilarious!"
"He’s so fun to tease! Xue Yang, take another look at the rest of us. Do we look real to you?"
Xue Yang suddenly snapped back to his senses. His gaze fixed on the person before him, and in that instant, everything seemed to solidify as Lin Xi’s face came into sharp, high-definition focus.
"Xiao Xi?"
Lin Xi stood on her tiptoes, leaned close to Xue Yang, and gently pressed a sweet kiss to his lips. "It’s me!"
Xue Yang’s breath hitched. "Xiao Xi, it’s really you!"
Almost subconsciously, he swept his arms forward, pulling her into his embrace.
The familiar scent filled his nostrils. He knew this was all real. Lin Xi was truly here.
"Surprised?"
"Surprised? I’m beyond surprised! What are you doing here?"
He had never, ever imagined Lin Xi would actually appear before him. This was more shocking than winning the lottery.
"I came to spend Valentine’s Day with you."
"Xiao Xi, thank you! Thank you for coming to spend Valentine’s Day with me."
"You’re welcome. We’re a couple, aren’t we?"
