Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 160 - 159: Mobile Game Testing
Xue Yang frowned slightly. He couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to Si Wen’s words than she was letting on.
Then, Si Wen asked, "Where’s my computer?"
Si Wen had left her computer at Xue Yang’s place after coming back from Kou City. Xue Yang hadn’t used it.
"It’s in the secondary bedroom."
"I’m going to play some games first. Call me when Lin Xi wakes up."
She probably came over just because she wants to play games, Xue Yang suspected.
Si Wen unceremoniously entered the secondary bedroom. The computer was on a desk near the balcony. Xue Yang had tidied the area up for her, so she saw it as soon as she walked in.
However, since no one lived in the room, the environment was still rather unpleasant for a young lady like Si Wen. As soon as she entered, she was hit by the musty smell of a room that had been unoccupied for a long time.
"I really don’t get how Lin Xi can stand living in a house like this."
Muttering to herself, she pushed open the window. Sunlight streamed in, carrying fresh air with it and causing her expression to soften slightly.
Actually, it’s not so bad. At least there’s plenty of sunlight, she thought.
After letting the air in the room circulate for a while, she closed the window partway and turned on the computer. The computer, worth over a hundred thousand, booted up in an instant. It was practically on the moment she pressed the power button.
Her senior year workload was immense, so Si Wen barely had any time for games. Today, she finally seized the opportunity, immediately logging into her game account to start a match.
Xue Yang had lost all desire to sleep. He checked the time; it was almost nine o’clock. He went to the bathroom to wash up, changed his clothes, and went downstairs to buy breakfast and some groceries.
By the time he returned, Lin Xi was just waking up. She was bleary-eyed and wearing loose coral fleece pajamas, her waist-length hair slightly disheveled. She looked irresistibly alluring.
"Did I just hear Si Wen’s voice?"
Xue Yang entered the kitchen with the groceries. "She said she took the day off, too," he explained. "She’s in the secondary bedroom playing games right now. Perfect timing. I bought breakfast, go ask if she wants any."
Lin Xi nodded, opened the door to the secondary bedroom, and stepped inside. Si Wen’s exasperated voice immediately filled the air. "Are you trying to build a graveyard in the mid-lane?
"Why aren’t you hitting the turret? Did the demolition crew not get paid?
"If you have a physical impairment, please stay away from this game!"
Although Si Wen’s name suggested refinement, her cursing was anything but. Lin Xi seemed used to it.
"Si Wen, what are you doing here?"
"My lady, you’re finally awake! Let me finish this match, and then we’ll talk."
After speaking, Si Wen immersed herself in the game again. "Jungler, did you buy real estate in the jungle? Why are you just strolling around in there? Planning to furnish it with a wardrobe or a bed?"
Lin Xi sat down next to Si Wen and leaned her head on her shoulder. Her eyes fluttered open and closed, a clear sign that she wasn’t fully awake yet.
About ten minutes later, Si Wen exited the game, looking thoroughly dejected.
"I’m so pissed! I can’t believe we lost that. Getting matched with teammates like that... I’m speechless."
Lin Xi rubbed her head against Si Wen’s shoulder. "It’s just a game, don’t be angry. Xue Yang bought breakfast. He asked if you want to eat with us."
"I already ate. You two go ahead."
"Oh."
Lin Xi got up and walked out. Having lost her interest in gaming, Si Wen followed her, curious to see what they usually ate.
In the living area, Xue Yang had already prepared breakfast: millet porridge, soy milk, fried dough sticks, steamed buns, and a couple of tea eggs. It was a typical, albeit generous, breakfast for an ordinary person. But to Si Wen, it could only be described as meager.
To be honest, I have no appetite for any of this, she thought.
"So this is what you guys have for breakfast."
"Mhm!" Lin Xi came out after washing up, sat down, and casually picked up a fried dough stick, eating it with her millet porridge and soy milk.
Watching Lin Xi eat with such relish, Si Wen couldn’t help but remark, "Love can really change a person’s habits."
After breakfast, Xue Yang forced Lin Xi to go study.
Si Wen, however, was here to have fun. There was no way she was going to spend the day just studying.
Having just lost a few matches, Si Wen was growing more frustrated by the second. If she didn’t get a win today, her whole day would be ruined. "Xue Yang, do you play video games?"
"I do."
"Wanna play a match?"
"You’re on!"
Xue Yang brought over his laptop, logged into his account, and added Si Wen as a friend.
"Not bad, you’re actually King rank."
Xue Yang had been playing a lot recently to research his game plan. He was a skilled player and had reached the King rank in just half a month. If not for his lack of time, his rank would be even higher.
"You’re not bad either, also King rank."
"I don’t have time to grind, so I just paid to boost my rank. But I could’ve gotten here on my own if I wanted to," Si Wen said proudly.
"Let’s get started."
"Okay."
After one match, Si Wen remarked with great emotion, "I didn’t expect you to be so good at games! When we have a day off, I’ll call a few of my girlfriends and we can form a five-stack."
Thinking of something, Xue Yang said, "I have a mobile game here that’s still in development. It hasn’t been released yet. Want to try it?"
Si Wen loved to play games and would try any kind, so she wasn’t opposed to his offer. On the contrary, she looked eager. "What game?"
Xue Yang pulled out his phone and opened the game they had been developing. "Give it a try and see if it’s fun."
"Sure."
"Xue Yang, this game is a lot like LoL, but LoL is only on PC, not mobile. Where did you download this? I want to get it, too."
Xue Yang was about to tell her that it was the game they were developing, but after a moment’s thought, he decided against it. "The game is still in development, and there are only a few slots for beta testers. Let me see if there are any left. I can try to get one for you."
"Well, hurry up and ask!"
Xue Yang took his phone back and called Yu Kexin.
"Kexin, are there any closed beta spots left?"
"There’s one left," Yu Kexin replied. "Do you want it?"
"I have a friend who really loves games and wants to give it a try."
"I’ll send it to your QQ in a bit."
"Okay, thanks."
"You’re welcome."
Si Wen was staring at him suspiciously when he hung up. "What is it?" Xue Yang asked.
Si Wen narrowed her eyes slightly. "That was a girl on the phone just now, wasn’t it?"
"Yeah, a classmate. Her name is Yu Kexin."
"Are you two..."
"She developed this game," Xue Yang stated.
"Oh, I see. Now, hurry and install it for me."
Xue Yang logged into QQ, where Yu Kexin had already sent the installation package. He forwarded it to Si Wen and helped her install it.
"There, all set. Give it a try."
This was the first time their game had been made available to someone outside their team, and Xue Yang felt his stomach tighten with nerves.
PS: Taking it easy today. Happy Christmas Eve, everyone
