Rejected and Pregnant: Claimed By The Dark Alpha Prince-Chapter 739: Developed feelings for Jeniva
Dominick stepped inside the house, his expression calm but tired after the long day he had spent outside. The moment he entered the hall, his eyes searched for Kavin. He found him standing nearby, waiting as if he had anticipated the prince’s arrival.
"Did you pack Jeniva’s clothes?" Dominick asked without wasting a moment.
"Yes, Your Highness," Kavin replied respectfully. "I have already asked the maid to prepare them. They are packed and ready to be taken to the hospital."
Dominick nodded slightly, thinking for a moment. "I will take them myself," he said.
Kavin hesitated before responding. "Your Highness, perhaps you should rest tonight. You have been outside since morning and haven’t had a proper break." His tone remained respectful, but there was clear concern in it. "You can visit her in the morning instead."
Dominick was about to object. The words were already forming on his lips when he noticed the curious look on Kavin’s face. It was subtle, but enough for Dominick to understand what the man was thinking.
If he insisted on going now, questions might arise.
He did not want unnecessary speculation about him and Jeniva.
After a brief pause, Dominick exhaled quietly and gave a short nod. "Fine," he said.
"Take the maid with you and deliver the clothes to the hospital."
"Yes, Your Highness," Kavin replied immediately.
With that, Dominick turned and walked toward the staircase. Once he reached his room, he entered quietly and closed the door behind him before locking it from the inside.
For a moment he simply stood there, staring at the door as if making sure no one would interrupt him.
"What have I been thinking?" he muttered under his breath. "I cannot let anyone know... not until we are certain about this mate bond."
The thought alone made his chest tighten. If the palace staff or the council began speculating, things could quickly spiral out of control.
Dominick sighed and removed his overcoat, hanging it neatly on the back of the chair. He then bent down to take off his boots and placed them carefully in the shoe rack before heading straight to the washroom to have a quick shower.
After finishing, he stepped out and dried himself before pulling on a pair of comfortable night clothes. The room felt quiet and still as he ran a towel through his hair.
Just then, a gentle knock sounded on the door.
"Your Highness," a voice called softly from outside, "I have brought your dinner."
Dominick walked over and unlocked the door. When he opened it, the maid stood there respectfully with a tray in her hands.
He stepped aside to let the maid enter the room.
"Thank you," Dominick said.
The maid placed the tray neatly on the table before bowing politely. With a soft smile, she stepped back and left the room, gently closing the door behind her.
Dominick walked toward the table and sat down. The food was still warm, but his mind was elsewhere. After picking up his phone, he dialed Evan’s number and waited for the call to connect.
When the line was answered, Dominick leaned back slightly in his chair.
"Has Jeniva fallen asleep?" he asked.
On the other end of the call, Evan had just stepped out of the ward room, carefully closing the door behind him so as not to disturb the patient.
"I just gave her the medicines," Evan replied in a low voice. "She’s asleep now."
Dominick nodded even though Evan couldn’t see him.
"Kavin and one of the maids are on their way to the hospital with Jeniva’s clothes," he said.
"Alright," Evan responded. "I’ll make sure they’re kept inside the room."
There was a brief pause before Dominick spoke again.
"And have you eaten dinner yet?" he asked his beta.
Evan gave a quiet chuckle. "I was actually heading to the canteen just now. Can I ask you something, Nick?"
Dominick picked up his fork, raising an eyebrow even though Evan could not see it.
"Hm?"
"Have you... perhaps developed feelings for Jeniva?" Evan asked. A faint smirk appeared on his lips as he waited for Dominick’s reaction.
"Is it that obvious?" Dominick asked calmly, not even attempting to deny it.
For a moment there was silence on the other end before Evan burst into a quiet chuckle.
"Of course it is," Evan replied. "You used to get irritated just hearing her name. But now you’re suddenly concerned about her medicines, her food, her clothes... everything." His amusement was clear. "Something definitely happened between the two of you during the holidays. Am I right?"
Dominick remained silent for a second, his gaze dropping to the dinner plate in front of him.
"Nothing happened," he said flatly. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Before Evan could say anything else, Dominick added, "I’ll see you tomorrow."
Then he ended the call.
Evan looked at the phone for a moment before lowering it slowly. The corner of his lips lifted in a knowing smile.
"That reaction says everything," he murmured to himself.
Shaking his head lightly, he slipped the phone back into his pocket and began walking down the corridor toward the hospital canteen.
"I just hope those two stop pretending and confess their feelings soon," he said softly.
On the other side, Dominick ate the dinner with a strange restlessness. He was certain that it might be because of his wolf was more worried for Jeniva than him. But at the same time, he wondered if he truly developed strong feelings for Jeniva.

Carlos pulled the car to a stop in front of the café and turned off the engine. For a moment he remained seated, glancing at the softly lit building through the windshield.
At this hour, the place was usually quiet, with only a few late customers lingering over their drinks.
Tonight, however, the café was unexpectedly crowded. Through the glass windows he could see people filling nearly every table.
He stepped out of the car and walked toward the entrance, adjusting the sleeves of his jacket as he pushed the door open.
As he entered, a few heads turned in his direction.
Carlos carried himself with a confidence that naturally drew attention. There was something magnetic about his presence, or the way his long silver hair was styled that made him stand out among the crowd. A couple of people briefly glanced at him before returning to their conversations, though some continued to steal curious looks.
He walked straight to the counter and placed his order.
"A latte," he said simply.
After paying, he moved toward a quiet corner table near the window where the noise of the café felt slightly distant. Sitting down, he leaned back in the chair and casually checked his phone, clearly waiting for someone.
A few minutes later, the server approached his table with the drink.
"Your latte," she said with a polite smile.
"Thank you," Carlos replied, giving a small nod.
He wrapped his hand around the warm cup and took a slow sip, his eyes occasionally shifting toward the entrance as he waited for the person he had come to meet.
When he took a tiny sip of the latte, he heard the voice of the person.
"It’s been a long time, Carlos."
