Reincarnation of The Villainess: She Has The Duke's Baby!-Chapter 95: #-This Is Just The Beginning. I Will Come Again!
Penelope Askary’s greeting made Edmund Gerwyn harden his jaw and clench his hands at his sides.
"Who are you?!" shouted the Duke in a sharp tone.
Penelope Askary laughed. The woman, who was floating in the air, slowly descended and stood on the bed. Then, Penelope jumped to the floor and tossed her hair back. Penelope crossed her arms and then tilted her head while pointing at herself.
"Me? I am Penelope Askary. I am the esteemed Duchess of this empire and also your beloved wife, Duke Edmund."
Edmund laughed mockingly and snorted. "Do you think you can trick me? Your body may be my wife’s body but your soul is not! Tell me, who are you?!"
"Heh," Penelope chuckled. The woman clapped and nodded. "You are right. I am amazed at you because you can recognize that I am not Penelope Askary so easily. How could that be?"
"Did you think I wouldn’t be able to recognize my own wife? You have such a negative aura that is disgusting while the aura around Penny is very positive and always calms me down. The most important thing is your eyes. Your eyes are red while my Penny’s are gold! Get out right now from my wife’s body!" growled Edmund.
Penelope laughed again. The woman sat on the bed and crossed her right leg over her left. Then, Penelope pointed at Jellal. This made Jellal and Edmund frown. They looked at each other and focused back on Penelope.
"You," said the woman in a cold tone. "Get out of this room. You have disturbed the conversation between husband and wife."
Suddenly, black smoke came out of Penelope’s index finger. The black smoke then attacked Jellal and sent his body flying toward the open door. Jellal growled and tried to get back into the room so he could continue to protect the Duke. However, the door to the room was tightly closed and could not be opened from the outside. Jellal tried to use his power so he could enter the room but still couldn’t. It was as if a shield was blocking anyone from entering the Duke and Duchess’s room.
Meanwhile, Edmund gulped and stared firmly at Penelope in front of him.
"What do you want?" asked Edmund. "Whatever you want, just say it! I will grant it to you as long as you get out of Penny’s body right now!"
Penelope tilted her head again. She smirked. Seeing that, Edmund gritted his teeth. He hated seeing Penelope’s current attitude in which her body was being taken over by something he didn’t recognize. Something evil, that feels cruel. Edmund could feel it all. That darkness was trying to brainwash Penelope and take over her body.
"If I say what I want, are you sure you can grant it for me, Duke Edmund?" asked something that possessed Penelope’s body.
"As long as Penelope and the child she is carrying are okay, I will do whatever it takes."
Penelope was silent and she tapped her chin lightly with her index finger. Then, the woman grinned widely. She pointed at herself.
"But, what I want is the death of Penelope Askary."
Edmund froze. The anger began to rise and overwhelm him. Edmund growled.
"What did you say?!"
"I want the owner of this body, this woman, to die!" Penelope said with a loud laugh. "She must die according to her fate, Duke Edmund! This world was created by Goddess Elleia and me. I wanted Penelope Askary to be the villainess she was in her first life. That way, she would make people suffer and I would gain power from the suffering of those people. Then, in the end, this woman will die at the hands of you, the man that has become her husband and who she loves so much!"
"Stop talking nonsense!" shouted Edmund. The veins were even visible on Edmund’s jaw and neck. "Did you think I would let you do that crazy thing?!"
Penelope stood and shrugged. "That is the fate of Penelope Askary."
"To hell with fate!" Edmund growled. "Look, I already know what happened in our first life. I know I killed her. But, that’s not me. At least, in this life, I won’t make the same mistake a second time! I love Penelope Askary and I will protect her with my life!"
Penelope laughed for the umpteenth time. "Do you think you can do that? Protect Penelope Askary from me? Oh, it seems I forgot to introduce myself." The woman snapped her fingers and suddenly she fell unconscious on the bed. More precisely, Penelope’s body. Seeing that, Edmund widened his eyes and immediately ran to the bed. He lifted Penelope and placed her tiny body on his lap. Edmund’s face was pale and his hands trembled as he touched Penelope’s face and tried to check her condition.
"Penny! Penny, open your eyes, Penny. Are you okay? Honey, please." Edmund’s voice trembled with fear. Then, he looked up and froze when he saw a beautiful woman in a black dress standing not far in front of him. Her hair is green and her eyes are red. "Who are you?! How dare you enter my wife’s body!"
The woman laughed. "Do you recognize my voice now, Duke Edmund?"
Edmund was silent. Shortly after, the Duke pointed at the woman in front of him. "You... were the voice that tried to control my mind back then!"
"Correct!" The woman clapped her hands and pointed at Penelope, who was still unconscious in Edmund’s lap. "I am the Goddess of Sorrow and Suffering. I absorb the energy that will turn into the power of the people who are suffering. And that woman... When I created this world together with that bitch, Elleia, I created her to become the villainess of this world! She is needed as a villainess for the female lead, Isabella Lysander, to shine! But Elleia didn’t want that. She wants all humans to be kind and help each other! What a hypocrite woman. I really hate her!" The woman clenched her fists. "My name is Oizys. You can look for me in the history books in the temples. I am the Goddess, who always turns humans into evil so they can spread terror and suffering. And I am also the Goddess, who made you forget your bond with Penelope Askary when you were children."
"What?"
"You forgot the fact that you befriended that bitch when you were kids, didn’t you?" chuckled Goddess Oizys. "You only found out when you were visited by the soul of the real Penelope Askary, who lived in a previous life and whom you killed with your hands. I made you forget your friendship with her, Duke Edmund. I made you hate that woman until you killed her. However, all fell apart when Elleia turned back time for Penelope Askary and took another soul into her body!
"Another...soul...?" Edmund moistened his lips and swallowed hard. Then, he lowered his head and looked at Penelope’s beautiful and pale face. "What do you mean by another soul?!"
"Oh, so your little wife hasn’t told you yet?" Goddess Oizys laughed. "It makes sense because I’m sure you wouldn’t believe what she said either. If I become Penelope Askary, I will also keep it a secret until I die." The Goddess approached Edmund and Penelope, making Edmund widen his eyes and immediately hugged Penelope’s body to protect her. "Listen to me carefully, Duke Edmund. You already know about your first life, right? Let me tell you another interesting thing. When Elleia turns back time for that woman, your second life begins. I managed to make Penelope evil again. I made her obsessed with the Crown Prince, I made Penelope torture Isabella Lysander and others so that they would suffer and I would gain strength. Then, the woman had a fatal accident. On the verge of death, she begged Elleia to give her one last chance. That she could not die in such a pathetic state. And, Elleia granted her wish. She takes souls from other worlds, and then puts them into Penelope Askary’s body."
Edmund couldn’t say anything. All of this was too sudden for him. So, is that the reason why Penelope Askary has changed drastically since having a carriage accident? Because her soul came from another world?
"But, that other soul turned out to be Penelope Askary’s," snorted Dewi Oizys, making Edmund focus back on her. "When your second life started anew, Elleia, that bitch split Penelope Askary’s soul in two. One for this world and the other soul sent to another world. Really annoying." The Goddess pointed at Penelope. "And I will turn her back into a villainess. I will have her destroy this empire!"
The black smoke reappeared and intended to attack Penelope as well as Edmund. Edmund widened his eyes and immediately hugged Penelope tightly. However, after a few seconds passed and Edmund felt nothing, the Duke slowly turned his head. He widened his eyes again as he saw a golden light surround him and Penelope. The golden light protected him and Penelope.
"Looks like I came just in time."
That sentence made Edmund turn his head. Near the bedroom door, Helios Rune Abelavish appeared while opening both hands toward Edmund and Penelope. Beside Helios, Jeremy and Chris took out their swords and pointed them at the stranger they didn’t recognize.
"Your Highness?!" shouted Edmund.
"Oh?" Goddess Oizys rubbed her chin and grinned. "Another variable that I didn’t account for came up. You were never in Penelope Askary and Edmund Gerwyn’s first lives. And you have immense holy power, as well as magic power. Elleia apparently gives her powers to a few people she chooses." A black light then appeared around Goddess Oizys and a strong wind appeared inside Edmund and Penelope’s room. "This is only the beginning, lowly humans. I will come again to destroy all of you and this empire." The Goddess looked at Edmund and tilted her head. She smiled mockingly. "Maybe this time, I won’t use you. I’ll use Penelope Askary, Duke Edmund Gerwyn."
"Shut up! I will never let you touch Penny!" shouted Edmund.
Goddess Oizys laughed. "Threat me as much as you like, Duke Edmund! I am a Goddess and you are only an ordinary human. You won’t be able to stop me! Then, see you soon!"
After saying that, Goddess Oizys disappeared. Edmund and Penelope’s room was a mess because of the sudden strong wind. Realizing the situation was under control, Helios lowered his hands and the golden light protecting the Duke and Duchess disappeared. The man almost fell if Jeremy didn’t immediately catch his body.
"Your Grace, are you alright? How about the Duchess?" Chris asked. The man approached Edmund and looked at the two of them with a worried look.
"I’m fine," said Edmund. He caressed Penelope’s cheek and kissed her on the forehead. "We’re okay."
