When he saw that Penelope had opened her eyes, there was nothing in this world that could describe how relieved and happy Edmund was at this moment.
The Duke immediately ran toward the bed and hugged Penelope’s petite body tightly. The man kissed Penelope’s forehead and face repeatedly and that made Penelope laugh out loud. The woman wiped away the tears streaming down her face and let go of Edmund’s tight embrace. Then, Penelope cupped Edmund’s face and wiped the tears off her husband’s handsome face with her thumb.
"Hey, tears aren’t suitable for a handsome and cruelest Duke like you, Edmund Gerwyn," chuckled Penelope. "You have to be strong for your people in this mansion as well as in this Duchy, right?"
Edmund shook his head firmly. He closed his eyes to enjoy Penelope’s soft and warm touch on his face. Then, Edmund kissed Penelope’s palm.
"Why am I strong for the sake of others when I know you are suffering because of my stupidity and my failure to protect you? I don’t care if others call me a melancholy man, who is weak because of love and also if they call me a coward. As long as you and our child are okay, that’s all I need and care about." Edmund opened his eyes and smiled gently at Penelope. Only to this woman, Edmund always wants to show his smile. "I love you so much, Penelope Askary."
"I love you too, Ed. Once again, my apologies for leaving you alone all this time."

The sound made Penelope and Edmund turn their heads. Penelope blinked and smiled at the soul of the real Penelope Askary who lived in the first life. The woman glanced at Edmund who looked normal, making Penelope think that Edmund must have met and talked to the woman in the white dress.

"I was worried about you, Penelope. How could I possibly go to a beautiful and serene place when I know you will face so much danger and suffering? Moreover..." The real Penelope Askary looked at Edmund Gerwyn. "When I knew you weren’t staying away and avoiding Duke Edmund, who had killed me in my first life, and instead married him to bear his child."
"Ah." Penelope smiled faintly and scratched her cheek which didn’t itch. "I guess I made a mistake at that time by accident. But, I don’t regret it. He loves me very much and always protects me."
"That’s why I came to wake you up so this man won’t cry like a child and won’t faint because he doesn’t want to eat nor want to rest." Penelope Askary’s soul chuckled and took a deep breath. She floated toward Penelope and stood beside her. Then, the woman in the white dress held Penelope’s hand. Of course, she can’t do that because right now, her body is very transparent like a ghost. "Penelope, I want to ask you one thing."
Penelope nodded and held Edmund’s hand tightly.
"Are you happy?" asked the real Penelope Askary. The woman smiled. "Because I want you to be happy. I don’t want you to suffer like me for taking the wrong path. I don’t want you to be jealous of Isabella for a man who doesn’t love you back. I want you to be happy with the people you love, Penelope."
Hearing that, Edmund lowered his head and clenched his jaw. He knows what he did in his first life was very cruel and wrong. But, Edmund really didn’t remember it. "I told you not to think about it anymore because it was a long time ago," said the real Penelope Askary, waving her hand. Beside Edmund, Penelope smiled and tightened her grip on the Duke. Then, Penelope stared firmly at the woman in the white dress in front of her.
"Penny, I’m so happy right now. I’m sad because you can’t feel happiness like this in your first life but I promise I will always be happy for myself, for my husband, for my family, for everyone who loves me, and also for you."
"Even if you have to face two crazy men, who are obsessed with you and want to keep you for their own selfishness?" asked the real Penelope Askary.
Penelope took a deep breath and nodded. "I am indeed afraid. Moreover, I just had a terrible experience because of Philleo Aaron." The woman turned her head and smiled at Edmund. "But, I’m not alone, Penny. I have Ed. I have people who will fight alongside me against Philleo Aaron and Sebastian De Louis. I will be fine. Therefore, go to that beautiful place, Penny. You can rest in peace without having to think about me or your family. I will protect them and make them happy."
The real Penelope Askary smiled and tried to stroke Penelope’s head. However, as expected, her hand could only penetrate Penelope’s head.
"I’m glad you didn’t love Sebastian and chose Edmund Gerwyn instead," said the real Penelope Askary. "I will ask the Goddess Elleia so that the Goddess will always protect you and give you happiness." The woman in the white dress looked at Edmund Gerwyn. "Duke Edmund, there will be many terrible events that could endanger the lives of Penelope and your child. So, don’t let your guard down and keep protecting them. You can make amends for killing me in our first life, even if you don’t remember it, that way."

That joyful exclamation made Ethan Askary stop in his tracks. His face and eyes looked irritated, making Callix, who for the past few days had always followed Ethan faithfully to protect him and help with his work, turned his face away to hide his laughter.
"Yikes! Why do I have to meet this noisy woman? Am I cursed by someone?" Ethan grumbled under his breath. The man cleared his throat and crossed his arms, then glanced annoyingly at Isabella Lysander, who was running slowly toward him. Ethan glanced behind Isabella. "Again and again, you didn’t bring any knights or maids with you. I’m confused by you, Isabella Lysander. Do you think you can fight against people who intend to hurt you?"
Isabella Lysander, who was walking alone and didn’t expect to meet Ethan Askary, waved one of her hands. The beautiful woman smiled broadly, making Ethan raise an eyebrow and clear his throat again while looking away. "She is sick. She had a fever," lied Ethan. The man and Edmund had agreed not to tell anyone about Penelope’s kidnapping, including Ethan and Penelope’s parents. "Then, I’ll go first."
"Wait, Ethan!" shouted Isabella. The woman intended to hold Ethan’s arm. However, because Isabella moved too quickly, the woman accidentally stepped on the hem of her own dress. Automatically, Isabella lost her balance and swayed forward. The woman widened her eyes and screamed, preparing to accept the worst if she fell.
