Before Sebastian De Louis came to this boutique, he was working on his study.
Of course, the man couldn’t concentrate. He was still consumed by his panic over Edmund and Penelope’s wedding. The plan with Isabella to seduce Edmund in front of Penelope failed. Isabella came into his study that night and cried. Her face was red with embarrassment and anger. She complains to Sebastian that Edmund is not seduced by her and Penelope slaps her. The next day, Sebastian received news that the carriage used by Isabella to return to Lysander’s mansion had an accident. The woman was injured though not to the point where her life was in danger. Isabella’s hand was broken and had to be in a cast. Apart from the wound, Isabella is fine and just in shock.
Then, the aide, who was always by his side, came into his study and gave him the information he had been waiting for. Sebastian assigned one of his shadow knights, Tristan, to watch over and stalk Penelope today. The man also told Tristan to be careful because Sebastian was sure that Edmund would also place his trusted knights to protect Penelope.
"Princess Penelope is going to the boutique to have her wedding dress sized, Your Highness. She was accompanied by her maid named Sarah and Duke Edmund’s knight named Edgar. That is the information that Sir Tristan sent me through the messenger bird," said the aide in a firm tone. After hearing the information, Sebastian grinned in satisfaction and left his work. He said he would meet Penelope at the boutique without even bringing a knight. Initially, the aide protested and said the Crown Prince’s safety was more important than matters of love or marriage. However, he couldn’t do anything when Sebastian gave him a murderous look and threatened him.
That was the reason why Sebastian could find out where Penelope was right now. He was even able to enter because he accidentally met Aria, the owner of this boutique, and threatened her after showing his identity. Sebastian also gave orders to Aria not to allow a single person into this room.
Sebastian didn’t expect him to be this excited to meet Penelope. He will not give this woman to anyone. The only person who is allowed to have Penelope is him. Sebastian will do whatever it takes to make Penelope submit to him and be his.
"Sst... Penelope, why do you look like a little bunny trembling with fear? Hmm?" Sebastian laughed and caressed Penelope’s face with his left hand. He was still covering Penelope’s mouth with his right hand. "Hey, you look adorable, Penelope. If you continue to give me this attitude, don’t blame me if I kidnap you right now and lock you up in my room in the palace."
Penelope was wide-eyed. She didn’t want to cry in front of Sebastian so as not to look weak but Sebastian’s words just made the fear inside her heart grow even more and made her start to cry. Her heart was beating so fast and hard that it made Penelope afraid that it would explode any minute.
’What should I do?’ Penelope spoke in her heart. She thought hard about how to get away from Sebastian who seemed to be losing his mind right now. ’Goddess Elleia, help me to get out of this situation! Please, send Edmund Gerwyn to me!’
"Don’t cry, Sweetheart," Sebastian whispered. The man closed his eyes and kissed Penelope on the cheek. He wiped the tears off Penelope’s cheeks, making Penelope growl and turn her face to the side. It was difficult because Sebastian’s hand was still covering her mouth. "I don’t like to see you cry."
’You’re the one who made me cry, you bastard!’ Penelope screamed in her heart.
Suddenly, pink light came out of Penelope’s body. It wasn’t just Sebastian who was surprised but also Penelope. The pink light was so bright that Sebastian had to cover his eyes with both hands. Automatically, he let go of Penelope and took a few steps back. Not wasting her chance, Penelope ran straight out of the room while holding her stomach. When leaving the room, the pink light that came out of Penelope’s body slowly disappeared. The woman immediately ran toward the boutique’s door and almost fell if someone didn’t catch her body.
"Princess Penelope?!" shouted Edgar. The man widened his eyes and looked at Penelope, who looked pale from head to toe, to check if the woman was injured or not. Apart from being worried about Penelope’s condition, Edgar also didn’t want to lose his head if Edmund found out something bad had happened to Duchess Gerwin in the future. "God, Princess! Your body is shaking violently. What happened?"
"My Lady?!"
Edgar looked up and saw Sarah in the distance running toward him and Penelope. Then, the woman immediately knelt beside Penelope and hugged her Lady’s body tightly. Sarah even let the things she bought scattered on the floor.
"Sir Edgar, what happened to My Lady? Why is My Lady crying and trembling like this?"
"I’m as confused as you are, Sarah," Edgar replied. "Princess suddenly ran from inside and almost fell."
"I... want to go home," Penelope said in a trembling tone. The woman sobbed. Her whole body felt cold. She glanced at Edgar and Sarah alternately. "I want to go back to Gerwyn’s mansion. I want to see Edmund."
Sarah nodded repeatedly and stroked Penelope’s hair. "Yes, My Lady! We’ll take you to meet Duke Edmund."
Edgar nodded and helped Penelope to stand up after he asked permission from the woman to touch her body because Edgar had to carry Penelope. Seeing her current state, Edgar wasn’t sure that Penelope could walk properly. Behind him, Sarah followed with a worried expression.
From inside the boutique, Sebastian watched the carriage start walking away from the boutique. His hands clenched tightly and he combed his hair using his fingers.
"Dammit! I failed to enjoy that woman’s lips, "Sebastian growled. "Maybe I should come up with a new plan to kidnap Penelope and lock her up in some other place that only I know about."

Edmund muttered and continued his activities. He is writing reports right now. If he was working, such as checking reports or writing reports, Edmund would use glasses to help him see the letters more clearly.
"Err... that..." Evan didn’t know what to say. The Gerwyn’s family butler cleared his throat and lowered his head. The man scratched his head and took a deep breath.
"Evan, don’t just stand there if you don’t want to talk to me. Get out because I’m busy right now," grumbled Edmund without lifting his head from the documents on the table. "You’re bothering me."

Edmund froze and the pen he used to write slipped from his hand. The Duke immediately looked up, stood up from his chair, and took off his glasses. He shot Evan a murderous glare.
"What did you say?!" growled Edmund.
"I don’t know what happened to her," Evan said, looking down. "But, suddenly Sir Edgar arrived with Princess Penelope and Sarah. And, The Princess is crying, Your Grace. Her face was very pale and her body was trembling violently."
Hearing this information, Edmund immediately ran out of the room and rushed downstairs. He was wide-eyed when he saw Penelope’s condition.
"Penny?!"
Penelope looked up and cried even more when she saw Edmund’s coming. The woman ran toward Edmund and immediately hugged his neck while Edmund hugged her waist. Even in his arms, Edmund could feel Penelope unable to stop shaking.
"Penny, Honey, what’s wrong with you?" asked Edmund in a worried tone. However, the woman did not answer. She hid her face in Edmund’s shoulder and neck, making Edmund harden his jaw and glare at Edgar and Sarah. "Edgar, what happened to Princess Penelope? Didn’t I give you the duty to always protect my woman? If you can’t even do something as simple as protecting your Duchess, do you still feel that you deserve to be by my side?"
Edgar knelt and looked down. Beside him, Sarah was silent and didn’t dare to look at Edmund. Even though Edmund didn’t scold her, Sarah was still afraid of the man.
"I’m sorry for not being able to properly protect Princess Penelope, Your Grace."
"I don’t need your apologies, Edgar!" growled Edmund. "What I want to know is, why did Princess Penelope’s condition like this?!"
Edgar gulped and raised his head to look at Edmund. "I was guarding the front door of the boutique when Princess Penelope suddenly ran out and almost fell. When I asked what had happened, the Princess said..." Edgar groaned inside his heart. Should he tell Edmund the truth? What if this would trigger a war between Edmund and the imperial family? What if this would lead Edmund to revolt against the imperial family? But... Edgar knew he couldn’t stay silent. This is a problem that must be resolved by the people involved. "His Highness the Crown Prince suddenly disguised himself and entered the room where the Princess was waiting for the boutique owner. It seems that His Highness entered the room from another door. Then, His Highness the Crown Prince... said that he wanted to kiss the Princess on the lips and wanted to lock her up in his room in the palace because His Highness the Crown Prince did not want to see the Princess marry Your Grace."
Hearing that, Edmund froze. His eyes stared straight ahead. Eyes that looked extremely frightening. The anger inside Edmund could not be controlled by the man. His breath began to rag. His body felt like it was on fire. Edmund couldn’t hear what Edgar said even though he could see the man’s mouth saying something. Then, everything he saw slowly began to disappear, replaced by darkness. The darkness slowly began to enter his body. Just like when he saw Penelope disappear before him in this mansion at that time.
"Calm down."
The soft whisper made Edmund flinch.
"Take a deep breath, Ed," Penelope whispered again. The woman hugged Edmund’s neck even tighter. Penelope knew something was wrong with Edmund just now. She could feel Edmund’s anger. She could see that Edmund was starting to lose control of himself. Because of that, Penelope closed her eyes and began to make a silent wish. A wish to the Goddess Elleia so that she can use her purifying powers to purify the darkness that started to appear within Edmund’s heart. "Breathe. Control your anger. Control yourself."
A circle appeared under Penelope and Edmund’s feet. A circle that looks like the sun with the symbols of the moon and stars inside. Then, the pink light came out of Penelope’s body and surrounded her as well as Edmund. Seeing that, Edgar and Sarah widened their eyes. Sarah covered her mouth with both hands and Edgar swallowed hard. Not long after that, the pink light disappeared, as well as the circle under Penelope and Edmund’s feet.
"Sorry," whispered Edmund. "I must have scared you even more." The man closed his eyes and rubbed Penelope’s back gently. "It’s okay, now. You’re safe with me, Penny." Edmund smiled faintly. "It seems that it is not easy for us to get happiness, Penny. But, as long as I face all the things with you, the things that will bring us both down, I’m sure I will be able to deal with it. We will be able to face everything."
Penelope nodded in Edmund’s arms and took a deep breath.
"I’m afraid of him," Penelope whispered. "He’s turned into a monster in my eyes, Ed. That man looks like he’s totally obsessed with me. I was afraid that I couldn’t even escape from him when we were in the room." Penelope let go of her hugs and lowered her head while bringing Edmund’s hand to touch her stomach. The woman smiled faintly. "But, our child seems to be helping me. Our child protected me, Ed."
"What do you mean?"
"Earlier, suddenly a pink light came out from my body. That light helped me to escape from the Crown Prince who was pinning me between his body and the wall behind me." Penelope looked into Edmund’s eyes. "Then, I seemed to hear the sound of children laughing. I also heard children’s voices saying that everything will be fine now.
Edmund smiled and nodded.
"Our child definitely doesn’t want anything bad to happen to you. Goddess Elleia also wants to protect you." Edmund hugged Penelope again. "Just take a rest here. I will send a letter to the Askary mansion to let them know you are here."
’And I will teach Sebastian De Louis a lesson so that he won’t try to touch and threaten my woman anymore in the future!’ Edmund growled in his heart.
