"Kill?"

Edmund Gerwyn couldn’t believe what he had just heard. Did Penelope Askary, his beloved and gentle wife, just say she would kill Sebastian De Louis? What the Crown Prince did was unforgivable. But, rather than having to watch Penelope dirty her hands with the rotten blood of Sebastian De Louis, Edmund preferred to hunt down and kill the man with his own two hands.

"Did you not understand what I just said, Edmund Gerwyn?" Penelope asked back. The dark aura grew stronger, as did the black light around Penelope. "I will kill Sebastian De Louis."

"Duchess, calm yourself," said Helios, trying to help Edmund to make Penelope normal again. That woman was truly being controlled by the darkness in her heart. "Prince Ethan is fine. Didn’t you save him earlier? Did you see that?" Helios pointed at Ethan. "He’s not injured and isn’t bleeding anymore, right?"

Penelope snorted and then laughed. "So what? I knew my older brother had been saved and I was the one who did it. But, should I just keep quiet when I know he was killed by that bastard?" Penelope asked coldly. "I will find him and kill him!"

"Penny!" Edmund ran toward Penelope and grabbed both of her arms. His blue eyes looked directly into Penelope’s golden eyes. Edmund froze when he realized that his wife’s golden eyes were slowly starting to turn black. Just like that time when Penelope was controlled by dark power. Edmund could not let this happen. He didn’t want Goddess Oizys to succeed in making Penelope Askary become an evil woman and destroy this world as she wished. "Listen to me, Honey. You don’t have to do that. I will do it for you. I will report this to the Emperor and ask him to impose a severe punishment on the Crown Prince. Please, you just go back to the mansion. Don’t you miss Raven and Ocean? They must be crying because they are waiting for you, Penny."

However, Penelope did not listen to Edmund. The woman jerked Edmund’s hands away and gave the Duke a sharp look.

"Don’t touch me carelessly, Duke Edmund!" Penelope growled. "I don’t want anything to do with you. Now, I have to go see Sebastian De Louis."

"Penny—"

"I said, don’t touch me and stop telling me not to kill that shameless Crown Prince!"

Penelope screamed and pushed Edmund. Then, the woman opened her palms, and suddenly the wind blew very fast. The street shook violently and black lightning flashed at every corner. Everyone screamed in fear and started running. Some of them were suddenly thrown against the wall and coughed up blood. Edmund and Helios also experienced the same thing. They were lifted in the air, thrown against the walls, and vomited blood. Edmund and Helios groaned, while Jeremy and Chris protected Ethan, who was still unconscious.

"Penelope Askary!" shouted Edmund. The man was still coughing and trying to stand up. He ignored his whole body screaming in pain. Edmund froze when he saw that Penelope’s eyes had turned completely black. The Duke clenched his jaw and cursed Sebastian inside his heart. All of this happened because of that bastard! "It’s me, Edmund Gerwyn, your husband! Listen to me, Penny! This is not you. You are being controlled by the darkness in your heart! This is the wish of Goddess Oizys. She wants to turn you into a villainess! You don’t want that to happen, do you? You don’t want to make me, the twins, Ethan, and your parents sad to see you like this, do you?!"

Penelope laughed and waved her hand toward Edmund. "See you later, Duke Edmund. I will bring the Crown Prince’s head before you!"

"Penny!"

However, Penelope paid no heed to Edmund’s screams. The woman disappeared as a black magic circle appeared under her feet.

"Duke, this is not the time for you to be standing like this!" Helios exclaimed. "We must immediately go save that spoiled Crown Prince. If not, the Duchess will be sentenced to death for killing a member of the royal family!"

Edmund clicked his tongue and looked at Ethan. "But, my brother-in-law—"

"Leave everything to Jeremy and Edgar," Helios said, interrupting Edmund’s words. The man then looked at Chris and Jellal. "You two are Duke Edmund’s shadow knights, aren’t you? Come with us right now. We have to stop Duchess Penelope right now!"

Edmund clenched his jaw and clenched his fists.

"I will definitely teach him a lesson for daring to disturb the peace of my family," growled Edmund.

Sebastian De Louis hummed.

He’s in a very good mood right now. He managed to get rid of a rat that always hindered all his plans. It’s a shame because Ethan Askary is Penelope Askary’s older brother. If only that man would obey all his wishes and not oppose them, he would definitely let Ethan live.

"Your Highness, stop."

Those words made Sebastian stop and turn his head around. He frowned and looked at his shadow knight, who suddenly appeared, with a sharp gaze.

"Did you just give me an order? You dare do such a brazen thing?!" shouted Sebastian.

"Forgive me, Your Highness. But, I felt an extraordinary mana approaching us. And, this mana is very dangerous, Your Highness."

Sebastian raised one eyebrow. "A dangerous mana?"

Suddenly, a black magic circle appeared not far in front of Sebastian. The wind blew so hard, it made Sebastian turn his face to protect his eyes from the dust. When the strong wind disappeared, Sebastian looked forward and froze when he saw Penelope Askary.

"Penelope?" calls Sebastian. The man smiled broadly. He was very happy to see Penelope’s presence in his palace. The Crown Prince walked over to Penelope. "I’m so happy to see you here!"

Penelope immediately opened her right palm and black light shot out. The black light aimed at Sebastian, making Sebastian stop in his tracks and widen his eyes. Luckily, one of Sebastian’s shadow knights immediately made his move. He pushed Sebastian to save his master.

"Tsk!" Penelope clicked her tongue. She combed her hair using her fingers. "Too bad I failed to hit him."

"Penelope Askary, what did you just do?!" Sebastian exclaimed. He stood up and dusted off his clothes. "Are you intending to kill a member of the imperial family, huh?!"

Penelope shrugged and tilted her head. The woman smiled coldly. Her black eyes were sharp and frightening, making Sebastian swallow hard. Penelope’s attitude right now was the same as when he had planned to kidnap her back then in the courtyard of Gerwyn’s mansion.

"I thought you didn’t know that I wanted to kill you," Penelope said mockingly. The smile on her face disappeared and now she gave Sebastian a murderous look. "How dare you kill my older brother! Did you think I’d leave you alone after you stabbed him in the heart with your dagger, huh?! I will give suffering and pain for you, Sebastian De Louis!"

The woman ran toward Sebastian and took out a dagger from the dress she was wearing. No one ever knew that the Duchess always carried a small dagger with her to protect herself. She pointed the dagger at Sebastian’s face, intending to ruin the Crown Prince’s face. After that, Penelope would tear the Crown Prince’s entire body apart with the dagger in her hand and finally stab his heart repeatedly. She could imagine the screams of pain and pleas for mercy from Sebastian De Louis. Wouldn’t that all be great fun?

’That’s right, Penelope. Kill Sebastian De Louis. A man like that doesn’t deserve to live in this world!’ The mysterious voice appeared in Penelope’s head, making Penelope grin and laugh out loud.

"You will die by my hand, Sebastian De Louis!" Penelope shouted.

"What are you doing?!" shouted Sebastian. "Quick, catch that woman! Don’t let her come near me and kill me!"

Several of Sebastian’s shadow knights immediately rushed toward Penelope, intending to capture her according to the orders of their master. However, before they could touch Penelope, they were blown away by a blue light that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. A blue light emerged from a sword. The sword was wielded by Edmund Gerwyn, who had just arrived along with Helios Rune Abelavish. The Duke glanced sharply at the fallen and groaning people, then looked at Sebastian De Louis.

"How dare you want to harm my wife!" Edmund growled.

"Are you blind?!" Sebastian exclaimed. He pointed at Penelope, who had stopped running and looked away. "That woman was the one who attacked me first and screamed that she was going to kill me as if she had lost her mind!"

"Whose fault do you think it is that Penelope became like this, huh?!" Edmund replied to Sebastian’s words. "All of that was because of you! You’ve attacked Ethan Askary, Sebastian! Did you think I wouldn’t report you to the Emperor? I will make sure the Emperor punishes you and this time you will never get out of your palace!"

"I don’t care, Edmund," chuckled Sebastian. The man didn’t look guilty at all. His eyes flashed triumphantly and looked very satisfied. "The point is, I’ve already killed that bastard and he won’t be able to bother me anymore! Isabella will come back to me and soon I will make Penelope mine too!"

Edmund laughed and snorted. "Do you think you have won?"

Sebastian was silent. "What do you mean?"

"You are wrong if you think you succeeded in killing my brother-in-law, Sebastian," replied Edmund in a firm tone. "Ethan Askary is still alive! Crown Prince Helios managed to arrive on time and save Ethan Askary. The wound has even disappeared and he is fine now."

Sebastian screamed and stared coldly at Helios. He pointed at Helios’ face with his index finger which was shaking with anger.

"You!" Sebastian growled. "You always interfere with all the problems in this empire! You always destroy my plans! Don’t you have anything else to do but come to this empire and disturb my peace, huh?!"

Helios snorted and crossed his arms. "I can ask you the same, Sebastian. You also can’t stay still and continue to disturb the peace of the people around you! Hey, spoiled brat, should I teach you how to be a proper Crown Prince?"

"SHUT UP!"’

Everyone stared at Penelope as the woman shouted. Penelope was surrounded by black light again. This time, the black light was even stronger and bigger than before.

"I will kill you all!" Penelope growled. The woman laughed. "I will destroy this empire and will become the ruler of this empire!"
