REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 325: A Voice From Within
The iron bar shattered like glass. Fragments scattered across the stone floor.
Chianxu stood frozen, her mouth slightly open as if she had just witnessed a ghost. ’He... he really did it.’
The moment that single bar broke, the formation collapsed with it.
Logan felt it instantly like a dam bursting. His internal energy surged back into his meridians in a roaring flood. Warmth spread through his limbs, filling the emptiness that had weighed on him moments before.
He clenched his fist, feeling the power humming beneath his skin. "Phew..." he exhaled deeply. "I was starting to think they’d turned me into a cripple."
"Turn you into a cripple?" Chianxu shot back. "They may be wicked and twisted, but they’re not fools. Only you can open the path to the Upper Heavens. They would never destroy their own key."
She stepped closer and pushed the translucent jar toward him. "Here. This is the Golden Dragon’s legacy — or at least, it will help you awaken it. Do it now. If you delay any longer, it may be too late to save the others."
Her voice carried urgency. Outside the Chong estate, the spirit family members were locked in a desperate battle against the members of evil spirit families.
Without reinforcement... They were doomed.
Logan frowned, staring at the blood essence.
"Do it? Do what exactly?"
"What do you mean?"
"What am I supposed to do with it?"
Chianxu blinked. "You don’t know? I thought Master already told you."
"He didn’t."
Silence fell between them.
"Then..." she hesitated, clearly uncertain. "Then perhaps you have to consume it. Yes... that must be it."
Logan looked at her with clear hesitation in his eyes. "Are you sure? What if that’s not the correct method? What if we waste it?"
Neither of them spoke. Neither of them knew.
While they were busy finding out what to do with the blood essence, unbeknownst to them.....
Someone was observing them...
High above Spirit Mountain, beyond the awareness of even the battling Martial Sovereigns, a figure hovered in the sky, watching.
He sighed softly. "Is he really the one?" the man muttered. "Aside from his appearance matching that suicidal maniac... nothing else makes sense."
His long white hair fluttered in the wind. It was none other than the very man who had given Logan the Dragon Core days ago.
"Help him, Zola. He truly is the one." Suddenly, a voice echoed from within him.
It was not his own.
It was a woman’s voice, melodious and ethereal, like a harp string trembling in the night.
"Yeah, yeah. That same blind belief," the white-haired man replied lazily. "Look where it brought you. Living like a ghost inside my body."
"You call it blind belief," the voice responded calmly. "But he once threatened the existence of the other eight deities. You will never understand what he is capable of."
The man fell silent. He had no argument.
"Whatever," he muttered at last. And then he started to descend.
Below, Logan and Chianxu had already slipped out through the back exit of the Chong estate.
They ran swiftly toward an abandoned area, seeking concealment.
"We don’t have time," Chianxu said between breaths. "I don’t know how it works, but we must gamble."
"By gamble, you mean I have to consume it and see if it works?"
"Yes. That’s the only way."
"Fine," Logan replied. "I’ll attempt to consume it once we reach a place where we won’t be disturbed."
After that, no one spoke. They continued to run.
Back at the battlefield...
Min Chong crouched over Hueng Long’s battered body and had been searching him thoroughly.
But nothing.
His expression grew darker with each passing moment until he couldn’t take it anymore.
BAM!
His fist smashed into Hueng’s abdomen in pure frustration.
"Where the hell is it, Hueng?" Min Chong roared. "Hand it over now, or I’ll slaughter every single one of you and skin your corpses myself to search for the essence. Do you really want me to go that far?"
Hueng let out a low chuckle despite the blood pouring from his mouth. "You will never get your hands on it," he rasped. "Even if you kill us all."
Min Chong’s eyes turned icy. "You want to die that badly? I can still allow your Spirit Families to ascend with us to the Upper Heavens. But if you refuse..." His voice dropped to a chilling whisper. "You won’t even live to see the next sunrise."
Hueng said nothing. He simply stared at Min Chong with open disdain.
That look alone was answer enough.
"Fine," Min Chong said coldly, rising to his feet. "You’ve chosen your fate."
He turned to the black-armoured Guardian beside him. "Elder. Please go and assist the others. We need to end this quickly. So, show no mercy. There is no need to hold back anymore."
The Guardian nodded silently and strode toward another raging clash. Whether Feng Dao, his earlier opponent, was still alive or already dead no longer mattered — he was down for the count to continue fighting. So was Hueng Long.
As the Guardian advanced, he raised his hand and condensed a sphere of dark spiritual energy.
The orb shot into the sky....
And then exploded.
Every member of the Evil Spirit Families saw it.
The signal!
And in that very instant....
They bit into their own palms. Blood flowed.
Without hesitation, they drank it, their own blood.
The moment the blood touched their tongues....
Something stirred within them. An eerie, suffocating aura erupted from their bodies.
Their veins darkened. Their eyes burned crimson.
And their strength....
Skyrocketed.
The battlefield trembled. The fragile stalemate shattered instantly.
Meanwhile, Logan and Chianxu ran until they arrived near a secluded cave.
"Here," Chianxu said. "This should suffice."
They slowed and approached the cave entrance....
They started walking at a hurried pace, but then suddenly...
They both stopped.
A suffocating pressure filled the air. It pressed down on them like a mountain.
Neither of them could take another step.
Logan’s expression darkened. Slowly, he turned around.
"It’s... It’s you!"
