REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 116: WHAT IS QI
Chapter 116: WHAT IS QI
After the little tour, everyone said their goodbyes and headed back to their own rooms.
It had been a good day—for all three of them.
And now, aside from Logan, both Rowan and Daliah were waiting with growing anticipation for tomorrow morning.
Not just to watch Logan anymore, but to learn from him—to try using the same training technique and grow stronger themselves.
Logan stepped into his room and clicked the door shut behind him.
After a quick wash and change of clothes, he dropped onto the bed with a soft sigh.
These past two days had been a valuable experience.
Besides his mother, he had gotten to know two new people—both of whom were surprisingly kind... and strangely easy to feel close to.
What had started as mere curiosity between him and Rowan was now turning into a solid friendship.
They had the same goal: to protect others.
And sometimes, that shared purpose was enough to connect people on a deeper level—without needing many words.
And Daliah?
She was just his friend’s little sister.
At least... that’s what he told himself.
Lost in a mix of thoughts, Logan eventually drifted off to sleep.
The Next Morning...
The soft chirping of birds woke Logan from his sleep.
He slowly sat up and stretched his body lightly. Then he slowly got out of bed.
With lazy steps, he walked over to the balcony and opened the door.
The sun hadn’t fully risen yet.
The sky was still painted in deep shades of blue and gold, as the first hints of sunlight brushed the horizon—like a quiet promise of a new morning.
Logan took a deep breath... then slowly let it out. Then another... and another.
The cool morning breeze was something else entirely.
It calmed his mind.
As if it were gently sweeping away every lingering worry and tension from his head.
He felt lighter, as if the air itself was cleansing his spirit.
Maybe this is why people say to sleep early and rise early.
Because if you don’t, you’d miss out on this otherworldly peace that only morning breeze seems to carry.
After a few quiet moments, Logan headed to the washroom, brushed his teeth, and washed up.
While getting ready, he thought to himself,
"Better get dressed quickly... or those two might barge in any minute."
He already knew how curious both of them were—
especially when it came to something completely unfamiliar to them. Not just them but to this whole era.
Cultivation wasn’t just rare—it was from an entirely different timeline, something totally different from the magic system they knew.
So the excitement... it was only natural.
But just as he was still caught up in his thoughts...
Knock! Knock!
Logan stepped forward and opened the door.
What he saw made it hard to hold back a smile.
Rowan and Daliah were both standing outside—fully ready.
Neither of them could sleep properly last night.
They just kept tossing and turning, waiting for morning to come.
None of them could wait.
"Good morning." Both of them said at once.
"Are you ready? Can we start it already?" Daliah said like she was pleading.
"Just give me a moment," Logan said with a polite smile and quickly went inside, got ready in a flash, and came back out.
"Done." He said.
"Let’s hurry up then," Daliah said. After that grabbing Logan’s hand, she strode forward in hurried steps, practically dragging him along. Rowan followed behind them with a smile.
He was just as excited as his sister too—but he just didn’t show it in such a childish way.
The three of them continued walking before finally reaching the same terrace where they had eaten breakfast the day before.
Though the table was still there, the space overall was quite large—more than enough for training.
And since it was under the open sky, the added exposure would make the training easier...
Logan looked around and picked a suitable spot. Then he walked over and sat down in a lotus position.
Placing his hands on both sides of the ground beside him, he gestured for Rowan and Daliah to sit as well.
Both of them nodded and followed without question.
"So first you need to know what Qi is." Logan started to explain. "Qi is the prime component of life force, flowing smoothly inside our body. It’s there—but its presence is very subtle. You will never notice it unless you want to. So when you focus enough, you can feel it."
"What?"
Both Rowan and Daliah looked at Logan, completely dumbfounded—unable to grasp what he just said.
Looking at their clueless owl-like stare, Logan felt a bit helpless.
He paused for a moment, thinking about how to explain it better.
Then he started again.
"How about this? Try to sense your blood flow.
Notice how, when you breathe, your blood carries the impurities back to your heart—
And as you exhale, it spreads fresh oxygen to every part of your body.
If you focus deeply, you’ll begin to feel it.
It’s not just blood that’s moving.
There’s something more—
Something else flowing within you,
Like a lost soul drifting through infinity."
After listening to Logan’s explanation, both Rowan and Daliah nodded and closed their eyes.
Slowly, they began to breathe in and out—trying to feel whatever it was that Logan had described.
Their brows furrowed in concentration, faces tense with effort. It was as if they were silently telling themselves: I have to feel it. I must.
Time began to pass.
First seconds... then minutes.
But... nothing.
Even after giving their all, they felt absolutely nothing.
Both of them opened their eyes in disappointment.
Logan looked at them, and just one look at their faces told everything—neither of them had felt anything. They both failed.
He gave a small sigh and started thinking. Then he decided to make it easier for them. More understandable.
"Listen," he said gently. "You’re both trying too hard. Don’t rush it. Don’t force it. Just let go of any tension."
His voice stayed calm, steady.
"Clear your mind. Stop thinking. Just focus inward.
Try to sense what’s happening inside your body—
Your heartbeat... your breath... the flow of blood. The flow of oxygen.
Don’t try to see it with your eyes.
Feel it with your senses.
If you truly focus, you’ll feel something. I promise."
Rowan and Daliah nodded and closed their eyes again.
This time, they followed every word carefully.
Time started to pass once more.
Quiet seconds slipped by... turning into minutes.
And then—
Suddenly, Daliah’s eyes flew open and she shouted,
"I felt it!"
