Chapter 62: Dissection Judgment

As they closed the distance, Moonbeam smiled, ready to strike Rowan with his full power. Rowan raised his sword in response. Their blades collided, clang! shing! Lightning‑fast, violent. Sparks flew. In an instant, Moonbeam’s sword split into two under the force of Rowan’s strike.

"I told you," Rowan said, voice low and deadly, "I’m going to turn you into nothing. Full caliber... sword‑saint skill... dissected into a million pieces."

Moonbeam’s eyes widened. The only sound Elian could hear was the sharp whoosh of air as, in a blink, Rowan appeared behind Moonbeam.

"Impossible!" Moonbeam tried to shout, raising his hand, but it was too late. Even at full power, even after all his tricks, he had never been superior to a god, Moonbeam thought, shock coursing through him. His body shattered in an instant, cut into countless fragments, blood spraying across the collapsing cavern floor.

Elian froze, stunned. She couldn’t comprehend what had just happened. Everything had occurred in a fraction of a second. The mountain itself began to collapse around her, massive chunks of rock and debris tumbling into the darkness. The cavern groaned and cracked under the immense pressure.

Rowan pivoted, dashing toward Elian. The protective barrier around her vanished as he arrived, the air shimmering around him. With a snap of his fingers, he teleported them both into the open sky, away from the crumbling mountain. Half the mountain had already split apart, tumbling down into the abyss below. In midair, he snapped his fingers again, and in a blink, Elian found herself safely back inside their home.

Her heart raced. Her eyes widened.

"M‑Master... what just happened?" she whispered. "When did she talk so much?" Rowan thought, lowering his gaze slightly as he looked at Elian.

"Please... don’t tell anyone," he said quietly.

Elian laughed weakly through her tears. "Wow, Master... you’re really incredible. Truly incredible. I didn’t even know—no one knew—you were this strong. You just defeated someone who transformed into a demon. No... an actual demon. And one that powerful." She wiped her eyes, smiling through the tears. "I know our swordsmen are strong. Even Sword Gods. But you’re stronger than them. Everyone would be shocked if they knew."

Then her voice softened. "But honestly... I’m just glad you’re safe. I’m glad you came for me. I’m glad you made me stand up and fight for myself." Her grip tightened as she hugged him again. "For years, I was hiding. Running away. That guilt never left me. But today... I fought with everything I had. I was ready to die if I had to. Because my friends, my real friends, were killed by him." Her tears fell freely now. "You didn’t just save me. You got revenge for every single one of them."

Rowan slowly placed a hand on her back, steady and gentle. After a moment, Elian pulled away slightly, looking up into his eyes. Rowan turned his face aside, a little uncomfortable, then stepped back.

"Calm down," he said softly. "You’re still injured. You’re bleeding."

"Oh—right," she muttered, realizing it too late.

Rowan raised his sword and lightly slashed the air in front of her. A soft green light flowed from the blade, forming glowing symbols before sinking into Elian’s body. Warmth spread through her. Her wounds closed instantly. The blood vanished. Even the pain disappeared. She stared at herself in shock.

"What... what just happened? Master, what did you do?" She looked at him in awe. "You can even use healing magic like this... You’re truly incredible."

Rowan sighed. "Maybe. But please—keep everything that happened today between us." He met her eyes seriously. "I don’t want my parents to know. Or anyone else. I once read about people with too many abilities. They lose their childhood. They get dragged into politics, power struggles... I don’t want that life."

Elian stepped closer and placed her hand against his chest. "You don’t need to worry so much, Master," she said gently. "I understand. I would never betray your trust." Then she smiled teasingly. "Though... you are suspicious, you know." She pulled him slightly closer, pressing him against her chest. Rowan stiffened immediately, shaking his head as he tried to clear his thoughts.

"Master, don’t worry," Elian said softly. "You’re only six, and yet you’re truly, incredibly talented. I’d like to see what you’ll become in the future. I’m sure it will help you."

She slowly released him and stepped back, then bent forward in a respectful bow. "Thank you for today. Truly. Please... would you like me to prepare a bed for you?"

"No, no, it’s fine," Rowan replied, shaking his head. "I’ll prepare my bed on my own." He turned and began walking up the stairs, his steps heavy with exhaustion.

Elian stood there, watching him go. He looked really tired. Did she suspect anything? Did she realize I was reincarnated? No. Rowan had already sensed her thoughts, and they were pure. To her, he was nothing more than a gifted child, a boy with extraordinary talent.

This is bad. Rowan frowned inwardly as he climbed the stairs. He opened the door to his room and stepped inside. Raising his hand, he exhaled quietly. "I’m going to need a really good sleep."

With a snap of his fingers, an invisible barrier spread across the house, one that would not allow anyone with malicious intent to enter. Moments later, his consciousness drifted away. And Rowan fell asleep.

The early morning sun streamed through the window. Rowan slowly opened his eyes. Something soft pressed against his head. He instinctively reached out and touched it. Wow... this is soft. He turned slowly, curious, and then froze. It was Elian. Fully dressed.

Rowan’s eyes widened in shock. He stumbled backward, almost falling off the bed. His heart raced.

Elian stirred gently, rubbing her eyes. "Good morning, Master," she said calmly, as if nothing unusual had happened.

Rowan scrambled to his feet, still trying to steady himself. "W-What are you... doing here?" he stammered.

"Master, I just thought I’d join you after checking on you it looks like you were having nightmare last night," Elian said softly.
