Reincarnated With the World Domination System-Chapter 14: Main Quest
Chapter 14 - Main Quest
After the worst meal of his life, Rael headed to his room.
He didn't let anyone approach him and climbed his bunk bed before anyone could stop him.
He realized he was acting childish.
He turned his bunk bed into a base where he could plan his next moves, train, and rest.
For now, he needed to clear his mind.
[Perhaps Lord Rael would like to explore his first main quest?]
Ah, yeah. I awakened my third innate ability, so I should've gotten a main quest. Whatever it is, let's check it out.
[As you wish, Lord Rael.]

[Main Quest: Top Of The World.][No secret remains hidden at the top of the world. Climb the social ladder and obtain a high status to learn about the hierarchy of your world and the universe it's part of. Broaden your horizons to see every part of your world and beyond.][Reward: A drop of Ichor Of Milford, The God Of Machima]
At times like these, I remember you're the World Domination System, Dominica.
Rael's compatibility with Dominica and Milford's bloodline was so perfect that he was granted his deepest wish.
With that wish came responsibility, since he was reincarnated to become the World Dominator and eventually ascend to godhood so that the Machima Bloodline could continue.
Likewise, his orphanage's troubles and the lurking devil could be called his first tests.
If he failed here, he would change drastically, given that Sister Sophia didn't outright kill him.
[World Domination is not limited to conquest, Lord Rael. It can take many forms, such as controlling a world's economy or pulling strings from the shadows. Our compatibility is flawless, so part of Lord Rael must desire domination in some way. I believe Lord Rael will discover and awaken that dormant part of himself on this journey.]
If you say so. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you were like Sister Sophia, but at least we're open with each other.
[I am certain Lord Rael would not have awakened me if there was no World Dominator within him.]
"It's fine, Dominica. I can see that part you mentioned, though it's faint. Right now, I just want the power to get rid of that devil and protect everyone. We can ignore the rest and focus on ourselves. I'm thinking of going to the junkyard right after I absorb another piece of rail. I'll train in my virtual reality room while my gauntlet manufactures the plates for the Steelborn Tortoise. I need you to watch over me in case anything happens."
[Understood, Lord Rael. That is an excellent plan.]
One Steelborn won't be enough. I need an offensive one, too. I'll think about it and make a blueprint for you to review. For now, let's get it done.
Rael tossed aside his blankets and hopped off the bunk bed with a loud thump.
Some roommates turned to look at him, and he smiled.
"I need your help, guys."
–
"Are you sure you want to come with us, Ali?" Rael asked, glancing at his roommate who had once said he didn't want to go back to the junkyard.
Ali nodded. "You've never asked for help before. I want to do something for you."
Even if Sister Sophia called Rael a bridge between everyone, these six friends willingly heading to the junkyard was proof enough.
Rael realized he wasn't so bad at socializing now that his anxiety no longer held him back.
"Why would you miss out on all this fun, Ali?" a seven-year-old boy asked. "It's awesome here!"
"You want to bug normies, right?" another seven-year-old chimed in. "Me too!"
Ali sighed at the two mischievous boys.
"My older brother told me orphans with abilities get scouted here. It's true. We lost another brother not long ago."
"They go to a military school, right?" one of the boys said. "Why is that so bad?"
"Maybe it's fun," the other one said.
Ali bit his lip.
From the side, Rael observed him closely.
Like Dominica, he guessed Ali knew more about the military than he let on.
Rael said, "Otis keeps talking about becoming a Colonel of Conquest, but how many of those even exist? It sounds tough if so few adults ever make it that far."
Ali's face grew serious. "Yeah. The military is rough. The weak get looked down on and left behind."
[Lord Rael, Ali seems to know more than a normal orphan would. This confirms our suspicions.]
I should talk to him alone later.
None of the other kids paid much attention to Ali's warnings.
They shrugged him off, convinced the military might be as fun as the junkyard.
They arrived at their secret base, and Rael showed them a steel plate formed by The Maker's Core.
It was polished and shiny, catching every eye in the group.
Even Ali gawked at it like it was a hero's shield.
"I made this with my ability," Rael said. "I need twenty-seven more to finish the shell of my first creation. After that, I'll need extra parts to make it come alive."
"Wait, alive? Like us?" one of the boys gasped. "You mean a real living thing?"
"Really? For real?" another chimed in.
The mischievous pair scooted closer, wide-eyed with excitement.
The others felt the same.
Even those who had awakened powers longed for a reawakening after seeing this.
Rael nodded. "It'll be our guardian."
Since he planned to power the Steelborn with magic, it would seem like a living creature.
He didn't feel guilty about bending the truth, because he wanted them to help carry and hide the parts he needed.
He wouldn't have storage for a while, so he needed all the help he could get.
"Leave it to us, Rael!"
"Yeah, let's do it. I wanna see our guardian. Those normies will be so jealous!"
"Haha!"
