Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?-Chapter 1562: Ancient Underwater Civilization Ruins
-----
Once they finally walked through the rocky, cavern-like corridor into the dungeon, finding themselves on the first floor, the entire place changed completely. It resembled the interior of abandoned ruins carved out of stone; the decorations etched into the blue and gray stones depicted sea waves, fish, and various mollusks moving along with the waves.
And above all, Aquarina saw a new notification—a system window showing what had happened here and where exactly they had arrived. This Dungeon already had a name, despite nobody knowing it.
Ding!
[You have entered the Dungeon: [Ancient Underwater Civilization Ruins (Tier 7+)]
[This is a newly formed Dungeon based on existing ancient ruins; the quantity of treasures and monsters is still developing.]
"Interesting," Aquarina nodded. "Okay, so it's a Tier 7 danger level. It's doable for us, yeah."
"Tier 7?" Agua wondered. "Ah, but I'm only Tier 6… Will I be okay?"
"I think you'll be alright," said Aquarina. "I'll protect you, so don't worry either way."
"Oh! I see… Thank you!" Agua smiled adorably, prompting Aquarina to pat her head.
She wasn't really that small herself; Agua was almost as tall as Aquarina due to her slender, elongated frame, though still not quite as tall.
"Heheh, nobody should worry; I can protect everyone," Aquarina nodded, crossing her arms. She was weak to the praise from cute girls.
"Eeeh, I wouldn't be so sure. You're always struggling at the end," said Silvia, squinting at Aquarina.
"Seconded," Justicio nodded.
"T-That's not true!" Aquarina groaned. "Anyway, there are three paths, huh?"
After inspecting and admiring the clear blue stones that composed the entire dungeon and how beautiful the stone carvings were despite their age, Aquarina glanced at the three forking roads.
"Okay, so we'll simply follow the one Khepri says gets us closer to her ornament," said Aquarina. "How about it?"
"Sure, it's fine with me," Khepri nodded. "Hmm, let's see…"
The beetle-shaped spirit activated her radar and began searching for the signal again, detecting it toward the left.
"Over there! The left path."
"Sure, let's go then!"
Aquarina nodded, rushing forward with everyone behind her. Excited to face monsters right away, her footsteps ended up being overly loud because of it.
"Hey, slow down!" Justicio panicked.
"You're making too much noise!!!" Silvia screamed at Aquarina.
"You're making a lot of noise too…" Justicio facepalmed.
"They're a funny bunch," Agua giggled, carefree.
"I guess so…" Pyuku nodded, yawning a bit. "Ah, I'm still a bit sleepy… Well, whatever the case, it shouldn't—"
RUMBLE!
As the group walked through another long, more expansive corridor, the floor trembled as something rapidly approached them.
"Weeerrghh…"
It made a weird groan—a cry that didn't sound quite like a mammal, reptile, fish, or bug.
When its silhouette finally became visible, everyone froze. This was perhaps the weirdest thing they had seen so far.
"W-What the hell is that thing?" Silvia asked, growing more panicked.
"I-It looks like some sort of… uh, mollusk?" Justicio wondered.
"It's not just one, but several of them merged together!" Pyuku said.
Indeed, what was rapidly approaching with big, jumpy footsteps was a massive five meters tall, composed of various giant mollusk monsters working together symbiotically.
It had the slight shape of a humanoid, but not quite. Its arms and legs were big and stubby, and its many shells formed a terrifying creature.
Its head was a giant sea snail with a colorful fleshy head and a huge spiky shell atop it.
[The [Undersea Monster Chimera (Tier 7)] has come to see what the commotion was about!]
[It sees intruders! Instantly deciding to eliminate them and eat them!]
"Thank you, System, very informative with that one bit…"
Aquarina groaned, rushing forward. She sometimes didn't quite like how dramatic the system messages could be.
"Wait, Aquarina, don't charge recklessly! What if it has a tricky ability?!" Silvia asked.
"Yeah!" Justicio nodded.
"Aw, come on, I'll be fine!" Aquarina said. "Like this, see?"
Aquarina swung her hand forward, her entire Aura surging as a massive fist made of her Blue and Black Aura emerged, piercing through her foe's shells.
She added weight to her punch, making it much heavier and stronger!
"{Hundred Ton Punch}!"
B O O O M!
The chimera was blown away instantly, collapsing to the ground as its many shells shattered. The mollusks composing it began wiggling, but they wouldn't let go of one another.
"Can this even be called a chimera? The monsters aren't exactly fused together…" Aquarina wondered, rotating her wrist. "But ouch, that shell is hard. I should've put on my gauntlets or scale armor…"
"Whatever it's called, you shouldn't just charge recklessly!" said Silvia. "Let's take it down together instead!" She summoned her Soul Weapon once more; the glowing golden hammer now had a metallic, white-and-gold exterior—an upgrade from Khepri.
"Yeah, let's go," nodded Justicio. "We gotta take it down together, Aquarina. We're a team, right?" He covered his body with his golden, insectoid armor, gripping the axe and shield Aquarina had given him earlier.
"Ah…" Aquarina saw echoes of her previous friends in them.
Justicio had the same air as Zack, and perhaps even Luck.
And Silvia… she reminded her a bit of Sylphy, sometimes Mist, but mostly Lara.
Yet at the same time, Silvia was very unique, and Justicio too.
Their personalities couldn't fully compare with one another.
However, that same air around them still felt quite similar…
"W E E E R R R G H!"
The thing slowly stood back up. From the broken shells, dozens of long tentacles surged, rushing toward Aquarina and wrapping around her arms.
"Ugh, disgusting!"
Aquarina groaned, trying to free herself, but the long, thin tentacles were like gum mixed with rubber. They were incredibly hard to pull off, stretching and adhering to her skin with surprising strength!
As that happened, the thing opened its chest, revealing a massive jaw with countless sharp teeth, aiming to devour Aquarina whole…
"Hey, I might give you indigestion. I really don't recommend what you're about to do right now…"
